Almost everything they done, seems bad, no 90 out of the tank, no rubber grommet through the truck bed, and filling the original fuel tank with metal shavings, from the Sawzall blade, i wouldn't even expect a 15yr old kid to do this kind of workmanship.
Al that you mentioned was spot on but I cut mine with a saws all and only had shaving maybe an inch in the tube. I had a Duramax that I drove for 7 years and cut it off the same way.
@@lastchanceshop good i am researching install got a 2022 didge ram 3500 its tank neck is a plunger style called rds who made my tank its posdible if you leave it on all the time to go up and out my neck because has no cap but all good info thanks for video
I was thinking about cutting lower. Looks like it would be easier higher up like you did. Any problems with gravity feed? And, I'm thinking about putting magnets on the metal in hopes to catch some of the small metal pieces. And, add a rubber grommet in the bed for the fuel line.
Magnet is great idea as well. Many people complain about rubber grommet but I don't think is necessary works fine form me with out any signs of tearing against the metal. Gravity feed works great .
I pulled the pipe assembly out of my truck for that very reason. Yes, it was a pain in the ass getting to the hose clamp way up in there but piece of mind is valuable
I have a 2022 and in part of the generic instructions I got from different manufacturer. It says filler tube may have vent tube and not to cut through, I see yours does not abs you cut through so you think the 2022 ram is the same I can cut through filler neck
I do not know if you’ll see this. But I installed the same kit. And when I opened the valve and let it all fill up. I got a leak out of the OEM fuel tank. And my fill tube was all the way full. But no leak out of the fill tube. Any help would be great.
At the 0:14 mark inside there is a ball and that tee must be located to the top that preventing from overflow your fuel check at 6:17 let me know if you solve this
@@lastchanceshop I have the T installed with the ball on top just as you do. And the ball doesn’t seem to be closing to shut of the tank. If I leave the manual valve on at some point I would have fuel at the fill cap on the OEM tank. And the leak on the OEM tank is near the fuel supply line that feeds the engine
The one I installed in my O7 duramax did not work until the big tank ran out and some what used out of the truck tank. It would just go to empty and the light would come on. About drove me nuts but I got use to it.
Yes you can do that but you always end up with the 1/3 of fuel in the axillary tank . The factory hole it's slightly higher so you won't be able to drain the oil fuel from tank.
@@lastchanceshop I thought of that after asking the question..thanks for the reply and video. Leaving a bit of fuel in the bottom might not be a bad thing..

You want close to tank as possible and rubber grommet in cut hole to stop abrasion or chafing
Yes you can. I installed this tank in 2017 and that hose don't have any indication of wear or rubbing against the metal is very tight .

Quick question. Does your fuel gauge still work?
The one I installed in my O7 duramax did not work until the big tank ran out and some what used out of the truck tank. It would just go to empty and the light would come on. About drove me nuts but I got use to it.
What about the shavings from cutting the pipe, the smallest piece entering your fuel injector be catastrophic
Everything is fine
I just run a rag through the pipe with a wire and pull it out to make sure there isn’t Noo metal shavings left
@@chavezfirez6342 that great idea
The hose on top just a breather ?
Yes
How often do you keep the fuel tank value open? Or is it on 24/7 ? What’s your experience/ advise ?
Thanks
Is 24/7 all the time you can fill it up both tanks and the gravity does the job

rubber grommet!!!!
Can I ask where did you run the vent tube to?
I put it on the left side where is back rack is going, make sure don't make that house to long otherwise you will create gravity syphon effect .
