    Thank you for this! I had to go through 10 other tutorials before this one. You explain everything well and your reason for it, without any filler or wasted time. Thanks again!

    I just got this exact airbrush last night, tried it out and it sprays fantastic! As I figured it would. Iwata doesn't make junk. Anyway, I enjoyed your video and after watching it I can see I did exactly as you did so now I know it was done correctly. One of the things I really like is being able to remove the cup. Makes it much easier to clean. I'm just now getting into airbrushing so I'm looking forward to learning how to use it.
    Thanks again for your great video and have a great day!

    Thank you so much for sharing this. I was in a puddle of my own blood trying to take apart and reassemble my Iwata neo air brush. Could have warned me that if you do not disassemble correctly, your spring could go flying off, and thus taking an extra couple of hours to find that pesky, but much needed part. Thanks to you, I was able to reassemble my airbrush. Truly, wish I would have watched first. BE WARNED: THAT DANG SPRING CAN GO FLYING OFF IF YOU DO NOT DISASSEMBLE CORRECTLY.!!!!!

    Thanks for this video! I just bought this airbrush last week and tried it out for the first time, today--was using just regular Vallejo paint and thought I'd watered it down enough, but, left lots of color down in the bottom of the cup and in the needle shaft. Pulled up this video to make sure I knew how to take it apart, and, more importantly, how to put it back together. I do have a stupid question, though...should you let the airbush sit out until it thoroughly air dries, or, is it ok to put it back in the box questionably slightly damp?

      Thanks and glad the video helped, our Neos are cleaned and then put back in their box, it hasn’t effected the performance but up to you if you prefer to leave it out so it’s dry then that’s not a bad option 😜

    Great tutorial. Do you recommend any lube after cleaning? Also some recommend extracting the needle thru the front to avoid dragging praying back thru the brush. Any thoughts there?

    How do we go about identifying or determining needle size using digital calipers? Over the years I've accumulated several needles and I'd like to know which ones are 0.2, 0.35, or 0.5mm. The reading I got was 1.2mm for a NEO CN needle that should be 0.35mm. Where on the needle are we supposed to measure?

    Im specifically interested in what happens if you overtighten the spray nosal and break those threads during assembly or cleaning. Is there any fix? I went out and blew a little too much $ on an airbrush having no clue what i was doing and broke those threads within a couple hours... i figured it was a lost cause and just bought a cheaper one to learn with, but is there any reasonable way to salvage my nice but broken airbrush?

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  5 лет назад

      If you snap the thread in the body of the airbrush take it to a watch repairer we have them in most of our shopping centers here in Oz, they have a tiny tool which can remove the thread. Once it’s fixed grab yourself a Iwata nozzle wrench see following affiliate link amzn.to/2SuLKyq they are SO much better than the wrench supplied with your airbrush as they work from the front therefore you are less likely to over tighten and snap the nozzle thread, hope that helps 👍🏻

    I have purchased a double action airbrush and when I stripped it down, the lever guide is not fastened to the needle chuck guide, it is loose fitting on my other brush, I am wondering if this is normal, or should there be a small screw holding it?, I haven't tried out the airbrush yet.

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  6 лет назад

      Hi there Doug thanks for your question it really depends on the brush, I have some airbrushes where the lever guide is not fastened as you mentioned so all good it is not a fault just different brands and models have different set - ups. Hope that helps and appreciate your continued support 😜🙌🏻+Douglas Taylor

    Do you lubricate your brushes?

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  Год назад

      I used to but haven’t for the past 8 years and haven’t really noticed any difference 🤷‍♂️

    • @markdesantis6325
      @markdesantis6325 Год назад

      When you did lubricate your brushes did it have any effect on the paint sprayed?
      My interest on this subject is driven by my having been informed that you should lubricate your airbrush parts to include the needle as it keeps all parts from sticking and allows the needle a smother movement. So I recently lubricated ( Impresa) all 4 of my air brushes which includes 2 brand new brushes!
      Now I am left with having to clean all 4 brushes and to what process?
      I could really use your help here!

    Does anyone know what Createx Wicked Colors are? Are they acrylic or oil based?

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Cam thanks for your comment, Createx wicked colours are waterbased but to get the best performance you should use their reducer in order to thin colours. These paints can be used on almost all surfaces including heat-set for tshirts as well as 2 pack cleared for automotive applications, cheers hope that helps. 👍🏼 +Cam Cecil

      You can use either, the iwata medea airbrush cleaner which is great or just water will work as well . 👍

    VERY GOOD VIDEO...AND CLEAR ENGLISH...DONT THINK THAT SWABS ARE A GOOD IDEA..CAUSE THEY HAVE TINY COTTON THREADS AND IF THEY GO IN THERE YOU HAVE A PROBLEM...!!!SOME SORT OF BRISTLE OR JUST YOUR HAND IS A SAFER CHOICE..!!

      Thanks for your comment and compliments on our video, you make a good point, these swabs are pretty durable and don’t leave any thread we are still careful when using them but have never had any issues 👍🏼
