Hey man! Thanks for the video. Made some good use of it this morning cleaning my neo. Learned to clean the damn barrel out.
One thing I’d add is lubrication. Using alcohol on the airbrush can actually dry out those rubber seals, so it’s important to lubricants those seals so they last longer.
Thanks for all the tips!
Yes that’s a great tip!! Pinning to the top so other folks can see, thanks so much for watching! 🙌
i just followed most of your directions (pulling back on the end of thing on the end instead of using your thumb nail works WAY better) and my airbrush works SO much better. thanks a lot, man!
This is by far one of the best videos I have watched on this topic. Thank you so much for posting!
Thanks for the video. My neo was blocked and you gave me the confidence to unblock it and now as good as new.
Nice!!! That can deff happen sometime. Was it some dry paint in the nozzle? Glad you got it fixed, happy painting my friend 🤘
I keep watching this!! Perfect!!! The Neo is my favourite as well!! Thank you for this!!
My pleasure, thank you for watching! It really is a great brush, with the right care and cleaning it will last a long time. The nozzle seal will wear out eventually but I think you may be able to get them on their own.
You saved my newb airbrush butt, thank you. Works like a charm.
thanks for watching!
Excellent video bud, was really afraid to dismantle mine until I watched this! 👍
Thank you for watching!!
Stupid question, but I'm not sure which part number it is,but I need the O-Ring for the main Cup (the bigger cup) that comes with the Neo CN,mine finally wore out and broke. All I keep finding is 7cc and 3cc O-Rings and I'm not sure which it is because it's described like 1/10 oz on different websites. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I didn't know finding a damn O-Ring gasket could be so difficult.
I have used beeswax in a pinch.
Sorry I am just seeing this now, not a stupid question at all. I would try some plumbers tape in its place.
I’ve gone to Harbor Freight of all places and bought their boxes of small O rings. I get the black ones and the green ones.
Boy you must be a big boy, just listen to the four letter words, your a real man!!!
This video was made during the COPPA days. Blame the government it’s not my fault, gotta be compliant.
your character development with swearing was uncanny, also thanks! haha
I just picked up a Neo. Great video.
Thanks for watching!
did you have to re-adjust the needle after assembly?
great tutorial btw, straight to the point
Yes once everything is clean and together I slide the needle in last. Always point first from the back, never insert the needle from the front. Thanks for watching!
@@zeroshobbies I think what he was asking is that in the video you slide the needle up inside the nozzle tip for assembly so it doesn't get dinged or damaged during assembly. Which is a great idea. However, you then tighten the back nut. Obviously without correcting this before their next use it would very possibly pulled back to far and cause the Airbrush to be spit and splat paint everywhere up inside the nozzle because the needle tip isn't clearing it.. What is not shown is that the needle itself needs to be gently readjusted to the nozzle. When doing this you hold the nozzle tip in place and slowly, gently push the needle forward and through the nozzle....... until it stops . It should slightly protrude from the end of the nozzle during operation. Then...... the back nut should be tightened. For reference, the user will need to have the back nut loose, but still on the threads, similar to when they first remove the needle.
I'm sure you probably realized this a long time ago now, but I just wanted to leave this small revision to help those who might have this issue and not realize why.
Awesome video BTW. I used this for my first NEO cleaning as I bought one for my second airbrush and it is a slightly different tear down/cleaning process then my Iwata HP-CS. The HP-CS has a floating nozzle and a few other small design differences. For anyone who is curious they are both excellent tools and similar in many ways. If I had to point out a clear difference it would be that the NEO has a little more aggressive, wide spray pattern, perfect for primer and slightly lareger surfaces while the HP-CS has a more precise spray pattern and excels with paint..... With this in mind, it is the reason I bought the NEO. I think they are perfect compliments to each other and this particular pair of air brushes will cover anything you cone across building Gundam's and model cars & planes.
@@garethmurphy8235 Thanks for adding that. I was wondering why my ab didn't work. Noob here and don't know a thing.
just bought this brush . great video thanks.
Thanks for watching! 🙌
Great video! just ordered a neo to replace a 15 euro chinese airbrush. Saving the video for future reference for when I need to clean it. 😀
This was exactly what I needed. Thanks bro
Thanks so much for watching! I’m glad it helped🙌
This really helped thank you
I am very glad to hear that, your welcome!
Thanks man, this was really helpful!
You probably dont care but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my brother for the last couple of weeks =)
@Davis Conner Yea, I've been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
@Davis Conner Yup, have been using instaflixxer for since november myself =)
@Davis Conner yup, I have been watching on InstaFlixxer for since november myself :D
Thank you for this video! My airbrush is as good as new now ^-^
So glad to hear it!
Thank you for the video it helped me out
How often should you clean it?
How long until you should just replace it?
Like I said in the video, clean after every paint sesh.
No reason to replace, they sell all the parts separately. When the seal on my nozzle broke I just ordered another one and was back spraying again.
@@zeroshobbies That is good to know that they sell the individual parts so you don't have to necessarily buy a whole new set up. 👍
@@xxnike0629xx Yeah definitely, I don't have experience with other brands but Iwata is really good at making their stuff readily available. Hobby Lobby carries almost everything you need. When I wanted to convert it to .5 needle/nozzle setup I was able to get all 3 parts there which was nice.
For being a "cheap" brush, I absolutely love it.
Thanks
You must have a super high quality camera to capture the light through the needle valve. That was impressive. Good tutorial. Mine is clean as new, has a new needle, a new needle valve, and still spits like snot out a gorilla nose.
Thanks so much for watching! Check out my newest video if you get a chance, it may help solve your spitting problem.
@@zeroshobbies problem solved and back to painting model cars when I have much more important things to do.
What do you think about ultrasonic cleaning?
i want to get one someday but i don't think they are necessary
I just got my first Neo, more tutorials please! This helped me so much!
Did all this and it’s still not spraying. Makes noises, but nothing comes out. Also it bubbles out the side of the airbrush right in front of the cup (near the nozzle id say) not sure why. Any tips?
if at all possible i would try and return it for a new one. my first one had that same issue. sorry i am just seeing this now. thanks for watching!
Thanks a lot bud
thanks for watching!
Whats the Full Model of Airbrush ? Just use it for Models
The seal band came off the piece of my airbrush. Is there a way I can put it back on?
if you can find one the same size yes. otherwise i think you have to order a new nozzle.
Hmmmmmm............. Why would anybody let their airbrush get that bad in the first place. Makes it that much harder to clean.
I can’t believe how dirty you let it get before you cleaned it. It couldn’t have been working beforehand.
Why would paint back up into the trigger area? Isn’t that bypassing the packing screw? I had an issue with the paint pooling there then nothing came out.
Sounds like it could be an issue with the internal seals. I get some paint residue back there on my Qtip when I clean my brush, but never pooling.
Did this happen suddenly or was the brush brand new? I returned my first one because it had faulty orings somewhere inside and it didnt spray correctly.
Im sure you already did but also be sure your nozzle is clean and clear so the paint is able to spray out. Seems like with the NEO, keeping the brush spotless is a big part of keeping it working correct. Hope this helps!
@@zeroshobbies I used it maybe twice and it happened, definitely was pooling, not just a little paint and i guess that stopped things up. Air was coming out but no paint. After cleaning throughly i was able to get paint again but don't feel like it's back to 100%. Since it's relatively new and I got it from Amazon i'm just going to exchange it. Like you said perhaps the o ring is defective.
Thanks for the video I gave it a good clean 👊🏽
Nice!! No prob thank you for watching 🤘🙌
Hey so I cleaned it as you instructed but now it's only spraying alot on all the three levels what I mean is even when I push down lightly on the button to spray alot comes out can you tell me what could be the problem?
@@JuniorD236 can you clarify a little more what you mean? Most of the problems I had after reassembling were solved by tightening the nozzle slightly more, just don’t go too tight. Beyond that make sure everything is screwed in fully
What am referring to is that when i apply the lightest bit of preesure to the trigger it sprayd full force leaving huge globs of paint i stead of spreying small amounts. And are you talking about the nozzle that connected to the trigger ? If so I'll try that and see what happens. Thank you.
Fucking thanks now I can fucking clean my fucking neo.
fuck yeah!
Fuck yeah
Fuckin A💜💁♀️♥️
So much for watching a how to video with my granddaughter. The F word makes you sound intelligent and very tough!
blame COPPA
Fucking good tutorial :-)
Thank you for watching!!🙌
Are you sure that is a neo?it looks more like a hp- cs or a revolution. The paint cup is very large .
I wanted to watch your video, but it contained too much swearing.
Even seems like a noob tutorial lol
Thanks for watching and commenting🤘
Effing long winded
just wanted to be thorough since there’s a lot going on
