This was a real informative video. Hey i wanted to ask do you have any plastic model starter painting kits i wanted to start simple and was searching for a kit rather than buying supplies seperately and came across this acrysion paint set from mr. Hobby. Do you have any idea how they compare against aqueous paints and do you know about any other painting starter sets for models
Acrysion brushes good but I had troubles airbrushing it. You can also get a Testors stsrting set too. As far as cost, see what a starter set comes with and then compare it by putting similar paints, a brush and a few other supplies in a cart and see the difference in price. Sometimes for just $5 to $10 difference you could end up with better supplies
@@1996starter start with a kit. Pick out a kit. A HG is a good start. Then the manual will list paint colors recommend for the kit. Those colors will usually be useful for all kits. The paints listed in a Gundam manual are Mr Color. So just match the numbers. You can usually find Mr Color for $3. Then buy a Gundam Starter Kit on Amazon. Should be about $9 and it comes with everything else you'll need to start, nippers, files, hobby knife... And that should get you started. With a Gundam you wont need glue but be sure to get paint thinner.
Can we get an Amazon link for those glass jars you put Acetone and Lacquer thinner. All the ones I see seem pricey. Maybe I can find at the Dollar Tree store :)

I got them at Hobby Lobby
Something similar for enamel paints?
Just go with what I show for the lacquers 👍
Hot water, dries paint, I have always thought.
I have trouble back washing the air blows to strong
Pull back super slow, it takes a bit but you'll get it. Put the cap on the cup or cover with a paper towel, that helps too
One question, what should I use for cleaning my airbrush if I mainly use Mig acrylic paints?
With Mig I use super hot water brewed from my coffee maker. Then a shot of Windex at the end. I did a video on how to clean Vallejo from your airbrush where I show the hot water technic
@@barbatosrex9473 thank you! I will search for the video!!
First method cannot be used with acrylics or you just use 2 methods because of different air brushes ? I got a bit confused :) If I could use the 1st method for my acrylics then it would be amazing. I find 1st method easier , but that is me :D
Have you heard of stardust colors from the UK? I heard they have a nice chrome airbrush paint and one that can be easily brushed.
I had troubles ordering it,, it didn't show up in the cart. I'm thinking it's shipping to the US that's giving me trouble
@@barbatosrex9473 I can help you out if you want? I live in the UK.
@@yodasscrotum sounds good. Let me check out there site and I'll get back to you. Send me an email or direct message from Instagram
@@barbatosrex9473 just checked it's £87 for 250ml including shipping posted to me in the UK😦 I've emailed you by the way !
I squirt a little water with a pipette back in needle & nozzle, just a little. Is that OK?
Leaving in the parts in acetone over night just doesn't work for me, it doesn't get cleaned. Now I use a machine that trow steam by pressure. It is great.
@@barbatosrex9473 anything else you would like to recommend as beginner supplies that are japan based and how to decide on indiavidual paints
@@barbatosrex9473 wow thanks this was the most useful info i got all week
@@1996starter I'm here to help 👍
I would love to see a test of green stuff worlds color shift.
It's coming
Can we get an Amazon link for those glass jars you put Acetone and Lacquer thinner. All the ones I see seem pricey. Maybe I can find at the Dollar Tree store :)
I got mine at Hobby Lobby
I'm getting into airbrushing, I've heard you're supposed to use a different airbrush when using different paints (acrylic vs lacquer, etc.) how bad would it be to use just one and thoroughly clean it between paints?
You've heard wrong. I use 1 airbrush for everything. Just clean between colors, it easy and you're good for the next paint, whatever type it is
@@barbatosrex9473 Awesome, tyvm!
good day barbatos rex, can you tell me what kind of spoons you use to test those different paint brands & colors? a ebay link or maybe amazon link will be grateful. do i get the white flexible spoons or the hard white ones? thanks in advance.
I get them at my local Walmart. They are the hard plastic type. I will be trying the ones from Amazon very soon. Maybe by the weekend but they should be the same. If you don't have a Walmart near you just search plastic spoons on Amazon, they're pretty much the same
