There have been more Tesla related fatalities in one calendar year than there has been Hummer fender benders reported since the vehicle has been in production, yet y’all will deem this to be _the most dangerous_ simply because of it’s capability on and off road, size and mass? Is the Raptor R and TRX trucks exempt from being so dangerous because they carry gallons of flammable gasoline? Sure, that makes complete sense. 🤡

The RAM isn’t exactly a 6th grader’s jab and neither is a 2 ton Dodge Charger plowing into you at 70mph. A better analogy is the 6th grader shooting you with the same gun as Brock Lesnar. That’s the part that’s going right over your head, they’re both equally as dangerous under the same circumstances. The Hummer isn’t anymore dangerous than the Charger would be at the hands of the same reckless driver as both vehicles are powerful and heavy.

    Thank y’all for highlighting why Ford, Stellantis, nor Tesla can compete with the engineering of this model. Only thing the haters wanna talk about is how many have been built or sold YTD because the actual product they do not care to discuss. Their favorite brands don’t even have an answer for this, but you’ll see many comments from their customers under every ZR2/AT4X video complaining about why GM hasn’t provided their GM fans a Raptor/TRX competitor. Perhaps the same or a slightly different reason neither of them have provided a Supertruck to compete with the Hummer EV twins yet.
    General Motors has separated themselves from the rest of the industry with vehicles like the Hummer EV and Cadillac Lyriq/Celestiq. You can tell they’re highly advanced and brand new vehicles just from admiring their exteriors before you get close enough to open a door. The attention to detail that GM dedicates to their high end products is unprecedented for American manufacturers, but they go even further in functionality. I drive a volt, they only get 40-50 miles of range before the gas engine kicks in. I stop by a gas station maybe three times a year, I only use public chargers that are free, like at some grocery stores or public buildings. 99% of my miles are powered from my wall in the garage. While the infrastructure does need *a lot* of work, most of the time you just treat the thing like your cell phone, at the end of the day no matter if it is at 40% or 11%, you plug it in and it's fully charged by the next time you need to use it. Now obviously if you don't actually own the EV and your just testing it, you'll have to rely on the subpar chargers, but if you actually buy one you'll want to invest the $2500 for a home charger and then you don't ever have to stop at gas stations or public charging locations.

    Shit man I gotta go back to school I'm way behind on this new stuff

    • @rj.parker
      @rj.parker Год назад +2

      No gas engine means no "free" cabin heat. Heat pumps transfer heat from one place to another. So you can get 5kw of heat for 1kw of heat pump compressor energy. Usable for heating the cabin without relying on electric heat strips which require at least 5kw of electricity to get 5kw of heat. The heat pump is efficiently transferring battery thermal heat to the cabin when and where needed. The suggestion that this heat pump is getting 5 to 1 efficiency (COP of 5) is the story since most heat pumps are around 3 to 1 Coefficient of Performance average. The "using electrons to propel" simply means saving more battery capacity for the motors rather than using more of it for old school electric strip heat. All of which is a bigger deal in a cold climate like Chicago than Florida or Southern California.

    for the person that buys a top trim diesel truck as a non-hauler daily because “those things last forever” … just to trade it in for next year’s when that releases

    The past few videos I've noticed what they have on the radio is usually a reference to the vehicle. Ride The Lightning is perfect for an EV truck.

    Somehow I feel like we’re missing the point of making EVs when we start making 9,000 pound 1,000 hp monster trucks like this

      That's the paradox. Current battery tech only really makes sense on an infrastructure charge speed basis for small cars. But people want SUVs.

      Can only hope at least the R&D money and robots and design processes trickle down to smaller, sensible vehicles.
      Volt and Bolt were great ideas and honestly good EV's, but they could not out compete the Japanese traditonal HEV's, early BEV's and current Gen korean BEV's.
      So GM, in GM fashion said, screw it. Go Big!

      Lol. You watched the entire review and definitely _still_ managed to *completely miss the point of the Hummer EV,* that’s for sure. It went right over your little head. Smh 😅

      @@NoodlesExtraMSG sensible? Lol. So General Motors should only build boring “sensible” $110,000+ vehicles whose sole purpose is to be efficient, slow, underwhelming rebadged designs that look like preexisting models for the sake of costs cutting and conservatism?
      If that’s the only application of an EV that you believe the entire country is interested in, you may went to take a peek at the Hummer’s waiting list.
      The logic and business model you have maybe best for Tesla. I think I prefer the way Marry Barra thinks about EVs, a company as large as General Motors has more than one audience to satisfy and can actually satisfy several markets by offering it all and developing whatever the hell they want.

      no this is exactly what EV's need. Thats like saying "we're missing the point of making ice vehicles by putting supercharged v8's in monster trucks"
