  • We are driving and reviewing the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 2021 model. Pure sound, acceleration 0-100, offroad (softroad), POV drive and vmax 180 km/h on German Autobahn.
The D-Max has switchable 4WD, on the road it's always in 2WD (still very stable though). This pickup is a cultivated ride and a lot of fun in the dirt. The suspension feels more comfortable than in other pickups, nearly no trembling. The six-speed-automatic works well. But 163 hp and 360 nm may not be enough for the ones who own heavy trailers.
The autonomous driving functions are useful and intuitonal. The interior looks nice, the interior quality is also way better than we expected. The D-Max is the pickup for individualists and long distance drivers. The black spot of the D-Max is its infotainment. It is reflecting, it looks mundane and the DAB-signal is breaking up consistently. Without having these issues, the D-Max would get a 8.5 / 10.
Overall the D-Max V-Cross is a rather exotic alternative to the Ranger Wildtrak or Navara n-Guard and even more comfortable.

Here in Australia the top of the range is the X-Terrain. All models only come with the 3.0lt, there isn't any other engine available here in Aus. They are a great car.

For some reason they don't offer things like heated seats, dimming mirror in the x-terrain like they do for models sold in Europe.

Here in the Philippines, only the 2021 Dmax 3.0 4x4 (4JJ3) manual transmission have the rear diff lock.

    • @carbittv
      @carbittv  3 года назад

In Europe we'd love to have this combination. But the 4JJ3-TCX doesn't fit the regularities here. Is there a 1.9 available on the Philippines as well?

      @@carbittv yes we have a 1.9L 4x2 & 4x4.
*1.9L 4x2= ordinary(double and single cab) and high end model (double cab)
*1.9L 4x4= ordinary model (double cab & steel wheels) no rear locker, no buttons in the steering wheel just the horn

    • @carbittv

@@gmharkuzful We guess they offer the 1.9 as a cheap commercial vehicle with less options (volume market) and the 3.0 like a fan car with full option. If the regularities and the diesel price were different in Europe, it would be the same situation. Here, it is quite usual to buy a luxury pickup in case of being selfemployed because you can offset it against tax and use it as your private car as well. So the 3.0 would also have been very attractive for offroad enthusiasts with an own business.

You are right 1.9 at 12.7s is good enough because there are still a lot of normal car that are slow like 16s. If using manual maybe it can do below 12s and just good enough for everyday use on highway and offroad.

I have a 1.9 doublecab automatic LSE 2023 in germany. He is a lot faster than 12 seconds. I will drive the car for long time here. This car makes 100 % fun here too. And its very very fast to drive roundabouts. I have every day go work a 100 % roundabout circle to the autobahn. BMW M6 cabrio lost and Musk bigest tesla too. Brake up at the half circle. And all only with rear drive at dry streets with the standart all terrain wheels.

@@patricksee7306 Guys, we are in Germany and there is no 3.0 L anymore in this part of the western world. You can buy V-Cross with 1.9 or nothing.
EDIT: www.isuzu-sales.de/d-max/modelle/ Check here if you don't believe us. The acceleration is absolutely normal for the 1.9 and nearly the same like the 3.0 by the way.

@@patricksee7306 I have a 1.9 Liter in Germany by doublecab and 163 hp. He is a lot faster than 12,9 seconds. My test drive was with a mercedes vito bus w447 163 hp.
automatic too. same weight empty = mercedes lost a lot after a good start within about 20 meters. the mercedes should have 9,1 seconds. I think the d-max need about 6 - 7 seconds on dry streets if you want it. The d -max goes a lot better and faster when on start goes from brake and roll half meter or one seconds and than gas !!Other way is put brake and gas by other foot at 2000rpm and go from brake. This d max motor dont like it to go from brake and same fast to gas if you want performance !!!! You see it in video. Rest area from 20 to 100 and 120 !! This are about 6 seconds. No brake to gas at the same time !! Little on roll and you can catch cars by the double hp on sprint to 120 !! Maybee more !!
