I want people to remember that being autistic doesn’t make you any less human. I’m autistic and have accomplished many things in my life. I still am.
Love this. My son got diagnosed with Autism today. I don't know what the future holds but what you shared gives me lots more hope 😊 thank you
With the gradual using of dr Oyalo herbal recommendation for autism, whom I met on RUclips, my son is totally free from Autism with his speech cleared and behavior ok as he now respond to orders and act right
Yeah tell other people that, they look at us that way :(
❤ thank you

Don’t call autism a severe emotional disturbance it’s not and that’s so offensive to someone with autism like myself. People with autism feel emotions perhaps more strongly than other people and that’s why they withdraw. Not the other way around.
With the gradual using of dr Oyalo herbal recommendation for autism, whom I met on RUclips, my son is totally free from Autism with his speech cleared and behavior ok as he can now respond to name, orders and act right. Thank you doc Oyalo for your help.
Agreed❤
You are, of course, correct. I believe that in the video, it referred to people with autism and people with severe emotional disturbance. I don't think that they meant that people with autism are disturbed. My son has significant autism, so I get where you are coming from.
I took it as two separate things, but having said that being without support or treatment would make anyone feel “emotionally disturbed “.
Well I mean autism is a spectrum and some people are far enough on that spectrum that I would argue it is for them.
It’s not aggression, it’s a meltdown.
I also saw his recommendation and approach Dr Oyalo for the herbs on RUclips. The herbs has so far work positive on my child’s eye contacts and speech improvement. My child social skill is good now and response to name has improved too
yes, but sadly so many people still don’t understand autism
@@jean_the_bean It should be mandatory for people learn about autism before they serve on a jury about a case with autism
A meltdown that may lead to aggression out of frustration?
@@giuliab8484 😅 depends on the person. People I know just cry. Also why having management skills and getting in contact with the behavioral health professional is helpful. But no it's not at all as depressing as people make it sound.. people just don't like to be bothered
I'm autistic... but also a mechanical engineer. I am an iron ring member, it's the hippocratic oath for engineers. I have a BSME, and work as a lean process engineer and quality engineer. I design CMM inspection programs for CNC machined widgets in the industrial, aeronautical and space industries. I am one of the engineers that ensure vendor quality for turbine systems that go into power plants and offshore oil rigs, to make sure we never have an incident like deepwater horizon. Want this to be an example, we are not less.
I think some of these neurotypicals confuse vaccine injuries that mimic characteristics of autism, and autism itself.
One of the greatest differences is in levels of empathy and intelligence.
For vaccine injuries, there's none of that heightened sensutivity or high level intelligence. They actually regress in those areas.
For autistics, we're highly empathic, esp the girls and have high levels of specialized intelligence. Ours is a difference in neurology, and us actually nature's way of evolving this very stuck in it's ways homo sapien species.
Stay awesome, Alex. ❤

Thank you so much. Have you disclosed at work? Our family is autistic and we’re trying to change the stigma and show our vibrant, varied culture. My son looked up autistic adult stats on wages and he’s terrified and upset by it. Thank you for speaking out. 💫
It really is a spectrum. Many cases of Autistic persons are genius cases. Many are also an intellectual disability sadly.
I feel grateful to live in Australia that funds and provides services for children with Autism. My son is autistic and we were lucky to have psychology, occupational and speech therapy fully funded by the government. The early intervention he received made the world of difference
but NDIS does not make it easy.
I made a shortfilm about autism, since i’m autistic myself and have a strong dislike for the representation in film. I hope you like it! ruclips.net/video/dr4bX8qmed0/видео.html
my son’s autism disorder was completely healed with the help of Solution Healing Home channel on RUclips,, ruclips.net/user/shortsh0YncUMye4c?feature=share

When I was diagnosed, I was 17, and autism was nearly unknown. Nearly 60 years ago. High functioning in highly structured environments, I was fortunate to make it to the first year of college, where a psychology prof was pursuing an interest in this 'new' problem.
75 now, I have slowly with a great deal of help, learned to pass as 'normal' much of the time. Not 'cured', but developed in skills which allow me to understand how my oddly wired brain works, and how to manage and appreciate its differences.
Don't you know that masking only gets us sicker? Anyway, please let me read what you learnt. I am eager to expand my wit on this

My son is 5 with autism and started kindergarten this year (2023-2024) they put him in a “regular” class and I’ve been a nervous wreck the whole time. He’s not able to speak full sentences, and if you don’t know him it’s har to understand him. He’s very smart and his teacher loves him. There was a autism center that opened up in our town that he went to for a couple months and ended up graduating. I always find myself worrying and thinking of the worst outcome and really I don’t know why I do. I stress myself out thinking about it to much. But so far he has done great with a little accidents here and there. My boy continues to surprise and impress me every day. When he was 2-3 years old he was a lot like ava! Before he was born I never really knew what autism was. My son is a blessing and really made me step back and look at life and what I need to do to help him. We are Georgia residents and Ava you are a hero in our eyes. I keep saying my boys going to be the next Einstein 😁 lol

For those reading this, please be aware that there is a lot of controversy surrounding the use of ABA for autistic children. ABA can lead autistic people to hide their sensory or other needs in favour of forcing them to conform to the neurotypical world, and long-term can lead to PTSD and worse. ABA doesn't allow sensory supports, such as earplugs/ear defenders, sunglasses, fidget toys, chewies. It refuses to allow stimming, even if it's not harmful - something autistic people (and others with sensory needs, and even neurotypicals under enough stress) so to self-soothe in anxiety-inducing or scary situations (or when super excited!).
Am I saying families shouldn't receive funds for help? Far from it! But I want people to at least question what ABA is, and whether it's the best thing for the young person.
Thank you❣️I was looking for other opinions on here as I’ve also heard from other autistics about this. It’s sad that it’s like this. I mean I think many parents are just trying to help their kids and don’t know better/other option or can’t afford. But I can see this. I wasn’t diagnosed with autism as a kid but also ended up getting my hearing tested (no hearing issues). They didn’t know what I had because I was verbal, though barely talked in group settings. Anyhow, all that to say, it makes sense what you’re saying. It is exhausting to try to act neurotypical/fit in. This is essentially like learning to act like a character 😩 lol.
Replying hoping this gets further up

My youngest daughter is nonverbal ASD. She's 12, but has come a very long way from her beginning point. @@pineapple365 I may be a teenager when my parents told me that I am autistic, and for that reason I was in a hospital when I was 4 years old. I was non-verbal until I was 5. When I was 5, I learnd things extremely fast. I not only learnd to speak, but also to read, to write, to play a recorder (flute) and simple music sheets. At 6 I learnd to play organ.
I started to speak when I was 5, but - although I didn't speak very well, poor vocabulary - I tried to learn German. At 11 I tried to learn Russian and English (English is not my mother tongue, Dutch is).
Now I am 56 years old. I can manage a lot of things, I can drive a car. Driving in a very big city like Brussels, Amsterdam or Berlin is not a problem at all. When I am at the hotel, I am not even exhausted. I can think very fast; I can likely multitask pretty well, actually in the same way a computer does (to switch thoughts several times a second). I managed to drive a car, to use navigation and to chat with a passenger.
Unfortunately, at work my qualities are denied. I am just an autistic and my boss diagnosed me with a learning disorder, which is a lie. Someone with a learning disorder can't learn languages, can't learn driving and make intellectual progresses.

These children bring out the best in me. Kindness and compassion and companionship. I’m sure they are here for a reason but it’s not an easy life
That was a really beautiful thing to say, I'm sure they're here for a reason but it's not an easy life. That really moved me.
Autistic people are still just people. They are here for a reason similar to you if you believe in that sort of thing. We’re not angels or superheroes or anything other than a person.
Autistic children and adults are really genius they think faster than most
As an autistic person, I can say I wish this were true. Some of us are pretty smart, but others of us have profound mental disabilities.
It's fair to say autistic people think differently than allistic (neurotypical) people. The theory of monotropism is a relative new way of looking at autism that helps explain some of the differences in the way autistic people think. In short, the tendency to focus completely on one thing at a time can seem like a superpower to non-autistic people but it can be a two-edged sword.
I wish this was offered to my non verbal autistic friend growing up in the 90s
Ava. Autism is not a disease. What people call aggression could be overstimulation. ABA is a bit bad and stops you from stimming which is a what of expression. Of course do not hurt people when you do it but just because you’re a little different doesn’t mean you need a cure. Autism doesn’t have a cure. Autism is not a “ significant disordered condition”. Autistic people ( most of the time) have high levels of creativity, truthfulness, and empathy. Of course autism is a spectrum, you can have a stereotype for autistic people, a nonverbal white boy with low empathy. but you can also have autistic people that are very smart ,very verbal, and very empathetic. My point is the media has had such a bad rap and the examples of autistic people in this video give autism a bad rap. Be yourself kid!
That is horrible! How are these services not covered by insurance! Children with autism need these services to be affordable. We do need to have universal healthcare. If we all equally share the cost, I believe everyone will benefit.
That’s a valid point you made

So you're hoping for segregation?
Teaching kids in main-stream schools about neurodiversity would help both autistic and allistic people.
Even though it still still Angers me that People judge Autistics before knowing anything about us. some of us are only aggressive and violent only when upset and angry. not for no reason. and most people don't seem know that all People Do have Feelings and emotions like everyone else.
@@parkerthomastobia6469 no offense but your comment is a little offensive to Autistic people. it's like you're saying that Autistic aggression is different from everyone else's.
"Autistic"..Its a full spectrum .. Many of these kids shouldn't be under the ASD program. If kids talk and has different issue and can learn and thrive then they should be in different program and different medical condition.
I understand what you're saying and I agree. They should've said autism isn't just about regulating emotions, it's also about not being able to communicate. If you can't communicate with others it will be very frustrating and upsetting. We all want to be heard, validated and understood❤

IMPORTANT: ABA CAN AND IN MANY INSTANCES IS HIGHLY ABUSIVE WITH LONG LASTING NEGATIVE EFFECTS LIKE TRAUMA AND CPTSD.
To anyone with autistic children or similar, look for help or suggestions from other autistic people or people who genuinly want good for your kids. Internet forums like r/autism and youtube channels from autistic people can be a great start
Yeah, like Reddit knows how to treat autistic children better than professional psychiatrists😂😂
ABA is fine. It teaches autistic children pro-social behaviors like speech therapy.
It may fight against what the autistic children’s brain naturally wants them to do, but that’s the point.
Think of it like a schizophrenic. Their brain may be telling them to do certain things, very bad things more often than not. But therapy, even if they don’t like it, will in the end help them come out better and stronger.
We found our play based ABA through a man who was nonverbal until he entered ABA at like 5. It’s basically a preschool but with people trained to help kids learn to communicate and identify the root cause of behavior so that they can either find ways to avoid it or help them replace it with something that isn’t dangerous. It’s pretty much like any practice in the way that you have to really do your homework so you don’t end up with a quack or worse. A lot of the tactics used in the earliest stages of ABA were used by the mental health field as a whole unfortunately. I think it took like a month for my son to truly realize his RBT was not just a friend 😂
Well said! Yes, ABA therapy is, in most cases, not good for autistic children as some practitioners force them to supress their autistic traits (and therfore their authentic identity) and display allistic ones. (I prefer using the term 'allistic' rather than 'neurotypical' as not all non-autistic people are neurotypical and I think 'allistic' is less judgmental) Also, I'm autistic, am certified as a Life Coach (no ableism intended in my saying this) who specialises in guiding autistic adults, children, and their allistic allies into fortifying their lives. One of my clients - an autistic child and his allistic Mum - told me recently how blessed they feel to have me in their lives and on their side with their challenges. Also again, as of 2nd September 2024, I'll be uploading videos in relation to autism and allism to a new RUclips channel (with trailers coming beforehand) so do keep on the lookout for those if you're autistic, an allistic parent (or even an autistic one) of an autistic child, or you're of either neurotype and you want to learn more.

How can they tell if a 3 year old is nonverbal what.
My brother M17 and I F19 both have autism, though I have ‘high functioning’ autism while my brother is non verbal. He was diagnosed at like 3 or 4, and I was diagnosed at 13 when I ran away from home.
Now that he’s taller than both my parents, my dad finds it difficult to care for him. He’s reliant on my dad, but when he’s frustrated he can’t communicate that frustration or pain in word, so he has to resort to violence to have his needs met.
I have to admit, we are not a family that is fit to care for him because whenever he is hitting himself or hitting us, we just give him painkiller medicine, hide, and wait for him to calm down.
It’s really heartbreaking to hear him cry and then to hear my dad shout at him “being firm” and watch my mum or sisters get hurt.
When he’s not crying or hitting anyone, he’s so happy and bright. I’ll never take his radiant sunshine energy for granted.
POV: you come home from a hard day of school/work to see him smiling at you and playing with you, making his loud happy noises. I don’t ever want that to end.
I hope we find out what’s causing him so much pain, because I can’t take it anymore. 😢
MY YOUNGEST IS NONVERBAL (9YR OLD) AND HIS BROTHER (14) IS HIGH FUNCTIONING AND HE GETS VIOLENT WHEN FRUSTRATED TOO. YOUR EXPERIENCE SOUND JUST LIKE OURS, I FEEL FOR YOU, WE ARE SO STRESSED OUT TOO. OUR THERAPIST HAS A POINT SYSTEM TO REWARDS FOR GOOD BEHAVIOR....HE STILL EXPLODES, BUT THE REWARD SYSTEM HELPS. HE FEELS THAT WE ARE UNFAIR TO HIM SO THIS "TIT FOR TAT" HELPS..(HE REALLY WANTS TO EARN THAT X BOX TIME)..ALSO HE NEEDS COOL DOWN TIME AT LEAST 5 MINUTES. MY 9YEAR OLD HAS BEEN TALKING MORE IN THIS PAST YEAR, BUT HE STILL HAS A LONG WAY TO GO. I'M THE SCREAMING DAD TOO, SO MY WIFE KEEPS REMINDING ME THAT IT IS AN ILLNESS. I KNOW WHEN HE EXPLODES ITS HARD FOR HIM TO STOP. HE IS GETTING BETTER AT SCHOOL HE HAS NOT HIT ANY OTHER KIDS FOR TWO YEARS NOW, JUST SOME YELLING BACK WHEN TEASED. (THANK GOD FOR THAT). IT'S BEEN A LOT OF STRESS ON THE MARRIAGE TOO...I HOPE THE TIPS HELP....YOUR NOT ALONE! GOD BLESS, YOURS TRULY RAY
@@RayD654 I can't stress this enough, please listen to me!
Interact with you son AS MUCH AS YOU CAN! It's important to teach him to be independent while he's still young. My brother is turning 18 now and can't do anything himself, but if we taught him when he was younger, he would at least be able to change his own clothes, eat himself, and clean himself after going toilet.
But sadly, my dad didn't stay home with him much when he was younger and my mum had to look after all of us then, alone. It was hard for her and even harder to find the time and energy to try and teach my brother how to be self sufficient. She begged my dad but all he wanted to do was play cricket and fly around the world. He lies that he was home for our childhood and claims that he raised us, even though he wasn't even present when any of us were born.
I'm also trying to use PECS or cartoon velcro pictures to communicate with him. It's difficult since we're late, but he's slowly getting better I think. I would give anything for my brother to be able to somehow tell us where he's hurting or what he wants.
Try PECS with your son. This means that if he doesn't end up learning to speak which is fine, you'll still have an efficient way of communicating with him. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE MY DAD DID!
He's actually in his home country right now and I'm sleeping on the floor in my brother's room because he's so used to my dad sleeping next to him. I've been in this flat sleeping bag for 4 weeks! He's happy most days, but last night he got upset and was hitting himself and he couldn't tell me why. We just had to ASSME he was in pain and gave him medicine. Then, for my own safety, I had to sleep with my mum for one night. I'm sleeping in back in his room again today, and he's finally fast alseep and snoring away.
Goodnight to you and your sons 😊
That's great, your son is doing better now with therapy. That's the way to go, because you need to teach him while he's young. It'll be easier for him when he's older then to learn how to communicate his pain to you, instead of using violence. 😊
I wish the best for you and your loving family, hoping that he's getting better day by day. 🙂

I am SO THANKFUL FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE ON BEHALF OF SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN!!! My daughter is 28 and was diagnosed at age 5 with Autism, & other related diagnoses. ABA WAS THE RECOMMENDED TREATMENT OF CHOICE BUT WAS NOT FUNDED BY INSURANCE. It took over 2 yrs to get her on Medicaid Waiver after denials & appeals & being in Crisis. It seems like so much time was wasted, when Time Was A Critical Factor. I will look into more of what you have accomplished! I’m So Happy For AVA!! God Bless you!!
I was diagnosed with autism ,dyslexia , and adhd , on December , 12th , 2023 . I'm the first one of my siblings to graduate from college. I'm earning my paralegal studies undergraduate certificate , from Ashworth College .
As a man living with it, higher on the spectrum, too much stimuli coming in is the hard one and not a soul gets it. I have learned to deal with it being on the spectrum and just going forward always. It is hard but can be done, for any that are that need that advice. I hate to compare myself to veterans but autism is a lot like that, you just hear and see and smell everything. Your senses are on overdrive all of the time and learning to tame them is the key and why a lot of what PTSD veterans may learn a lot from people on the spectrum.
I’ve learnt that from Carly Fleischmann, where in one video interview (she couldnt talk but typed out her answer), she explained to the audience what the stimuli were like, and also why autistic people tend to have stims. I was actually mind blown because her explaination was simple; stims are a form of output to cancel out or reduce input of stimuli in order to help her focus. Like how people twirl their hair, fiddle their thumbs or subconsciously do something “weird” when talking to others or on the phone, or when they are focussing on something. Just that the “stims” autistic people are looked upon as “inappropriate”.
🤯
YES I get it. my son has high func. autism, even when he was a small child I had to take him from a family birthday which was too loud because he was covering his ears. Home, serene, peaceful, him in his nice warm bath. I raised him according to scripture, love, common sense, discipline when appropriate, he grew up to get his driver's license and knows about electricity, loves to recycle metal items. Happy, well adjusted caring young man.
@@reeeyou I like Carly.
@Maxwell Cramer wth is wrong with you?
@Maxwell Cramer Yo wellmax mercra 🖕🏾 this one's 4 u.. insensitive inconsiderate dickhead!
a great thing to remember is that autism is a very diverse thing.
I have autism, but I don’t see it as a burden. I know there are pitfalls in our society but the only thing we can do is make them understand our experiences and the good we do.
Government is rarely the answer, but we should do everything we can to make it better!
Yes it's time we all help those with autism all over the country
The wording of this report is extremely outdated. I also think it's worth discussing the controversy around ABA.
Thank you for being persistent!!
Most (about 70%) of autistic people who have gone through ABA have symptoms of PTSD from ABA therapy. It’s very important that people are cautious and make sure that the therapy is not traumatizing to the child. If done poorly it can do great harm! Forced reduction of autistic behaviors is also associated with higher levels of depression and anxiety.
Also, a survey showed the vast majority of autistic people who have gone through ABA are against ABA.
With the gradual using of dr Oyalo herbal recommendation for autism, whom I met on RUclips, my son is totally free from Autism with his speech cleared and behavior ok as he can now respond to name, orders and act right. Thank you doc Oyalo for your help.
I'd be interested to know where you get those numbers.
The ABA of 15-20+ years ago in some cases, yes. We're hearing from adults who went through a very different type of ABA than what is used now. Painting all of ABA with an outdated and negative brush isn't helping families who need support discern good clinics from subpar ones; its simply scaring them out of getting therapeutic support at all. Please stop, or at least provide constructive criticism that is more nuanced and relevant. Thank you, from an Autistic professional mama of 3, who is also a former ABA therapist (now primarily play therapist and educator).
I’m crying every single day because of my son the doctor said my son has an autism my life is so changed since I hear it crying everyday day I can’t see him he’s going through with it’s so hard for me .
Hey mama, I have 2 austistic kids, I know it’s hard, but it is what it is, however you can do alot if u research and never give up . My kids came a long way because I did not give up . May you be blessed in your endeavors with your son
Autistic children are amazing too but just different.
I’m autistic and life can be hard sometimes, but why is it a tragedy to get a diagnosis? Nothing about your son has changed. I hope you both are doing well. ❤

That video made me cry , as a mother of autistic child who doesn’t get much help in the country we live in
No chance to live in a country with a more( caring system)
I’m willing to pay money but no qualified organizations or people here
Move to the northeast united States. In the west and south, being ND is seen as nature's way of creating a hard worker that will work for little wages and respect. In the northeast you'll both have good chances at good lives

Agreed 100
10000000000000000000% true
Exactly! It angers me all the bigoted ableist comments on this video! They are all encouraging herb cures for autism praising the normalization of Autism! It makes me sick to my stomach to see that people are still this ignorant and outdated! They are still trying to erase autism and get rid of us and turn us into boring hateful neurotypicals instead of the unique creative gifted people we are! By removing autism and normalizing us, they are also making us average and stupid and taking away our super intelligence, our ability to think literally, and our ability to think in a loving childlike manner. It’s disgusting! The neurodiversity movement is trying so hard to shut down ABA and Autism $peaks and Autism Research but we keep getting silenced by those who hate autism and view it as a tragedy. We understand the challenges of autism and of course we agree with treating it but we want people to embrace the good parts of autism. The light side of autism is where the gifts and talents are but no people want us to be normal and boring and take away what makes us special. Worst part is that many in the neurodivergent community were brainwashed by ABA into believing their autism is bad and they try to shut us down. We must continue to fight for autism rights. If autism get removed, all the intelligent people of the world disappear along with it. Without autistic people, this world would be destroyed. We can figure things out much better than a neurotypical can. These evil people want to destroy us and they praise ABA and a cure for autism. It makes me sick. Absolutely sick.
I agree. I would rather die first.
I'm so grateful for these changes. My son is able to have ABA on medicaid. Thank you.
Great they got the treatment covered! I think the insurance or lacking system find another way around to let early intervention of less severe cases fall through the cracks tho by making it nearly impossible to get an early diagnosis. After waiting 6+ months for a neurologist appt, only to be told “we’ll know for sure if he struggles socially in the teen year & has no friends”
Me- “holy cow, why on earth would we wait until he’s traumatized to intervene” as a single working mom of a special needs child after 2 years of specialist visits going no where, I gave up on external help. His outcome will greatly depend on parent/school supports, the struggle is real. Even worse, when your kids lower on the spectrum most outsiders assume their bad or your spoiling them b/c it’s not obvious your 5 year old sized boy is emotionally/socially at a 3 year old level plus the sensory stuff that sets them off no one gets. The lesson society needs in general is “other people brains are wired different, accept & respect that before you form opinions” I think the best 1st step is to meet them where their at with love, positivity, and compassion. They defy social norms, but are some of the most comical and creative genius’s amongst human kind. Some the greatest minds in history had the same challenges, I tell my son you not here to compete or be like everyone else. You have different strengths with a greater purpose when your grown up. By appreciating & teaming up others who strengths are your weaknesses and vice verses you form a creative innovation force around inventions your passionate about. When I look at my experience with winning business teams, a common element I observe is exactly this, very different minded people with collaborate and welcome new ideas. I myself am on the very creative side of the spectrum, aligned with the very opposite types of minds where we really seek to understand each other we and blend our strategies, the sky’s the limit!

I’m so thankful for our ABA team for my 5yr old daughter! I prayed and the timing was perfect! The Lord was so faithful to provide this for my daughter! I am so thankful! I pray for all the parents and caregivers to be a voice for our sweet children -they deserve to be cared for and loved! May they get the investment they need!
My son is 5 and still on a waitlist for ABA. Its heartbreaking knowing weve been waiting for 4years to get assistance. No one answers my emails or does anything until i call. They forget us constantly.
Im in the Uk and have an autistic son, I was fortunate for him to be diagnosed. Which did take yrs of waiting, due to the waiting list but support from local council and his school helped to move him to a school for autistic children where its benefited him a lot. He's 10yrs old and still has his behaviours, but he is able to function an grow in an environment where it's better suited to his needs. His previous mainstream school did try but was not the best place for his learning. Tuition also helped him, to push forward also.
My daughter is in mainstream school in Australia, the support there is amazing. She is doing so well and I attribute all her gains to that school. She is a social butterfly and has so many friends and the best part is she has the same teacher she had last year who took her from a confused kid to an inquisitive one.
Finding a good school for an autistic child is priceless.
I am happy for you both.
Thank you Dr Oyalo for healing my son from autism. And I want to share about him to every one. His herbs has made my son verbal and Improve in social skills
back in the day they just threw us away. now we can communicate and offer a new influence. perhaps soon the people, the children, with special needs will have these needs met, not manipulated. its difficult but possible. i am hopeful.
that being said ABA is a service for the parents not the child. we can do better

Everyone deserves help, and it’s wrong to guilt them for needing it. Helping children is the least we can do as a society.

The waiting list for ABA therapy is so long, and access to care in terms of transit is so terribly difficult. We absolutely need to see these changes. Every day, I see another case of these beautiful, brilliant children being harmed or abandoned, and it’s wholly heartbreaking. What can we do besides writing our legislators? So much gratitude to all who help provide a springboard forward to student-centered learning; the necessity for access to all is paramount.
I can relate, were be on the waiting list for 2 months now. This is my biggest fear after recently finding out my 3yrs is on the spectrum. he's such a sweet little boy and I just die if I found out someone hurt him.

I lived in nearby Franklin NC, and they didn't have any psychologists or psychiatrists or even counselors in person I could go to when I had postpartum and when our son started showing signs of autism at age 2...I am glad in GA they are starting to push for better mental healthcare.

umm just so you ABA is quite controversial and a lot of autistic people are against it.
It depends of ABA. They are changing things now.
Diagnosed at 42. Watch out for something called ehler's danlos .... a painful connective tissue and joint disorder. A lot of us have it and it is usually overlooked until too late. We hurt a lot.
Which could be tragic for a nonverbal autistic forced to do aba! 😢

This is what my little brother needed... he's nearly 40 now... back in the 80s-90s high functioning autistic kids like him didn't get any help most of the time... in fact he wasn't even acknowledged as autistic. They thought he might have been as a child and then decided he wasn't ... cuz he was too high functioning i guess. He got aggressive and impossible to handle as a teenager. They diagnosed him as bipolar and then later on as schizo-affective... and maybe he does have those things, but I now know he's also got to be autistic. its heartbreaking to think maybe he coulda been helped earlier on in life like this... and the system just let him fall right through the cracks. as an adult now he refuses any attempts people make to help. we bent over backwards trying.

Like me I have autism too and my autisum will also give me terex and that makes me grunt quite alot and I'm so happy that other people have autism like me and some people like me have a disability and a type of way to communicate with you like me I speak scientifically sometimes not and because of my disability I get bullied because of the way I act ofcourse I don't care if I get bullied because of a strong independent person and no person can take it away from me and some people like me have to deal with it like me I always make a friend or foe and enemy it ain't my problem because of my disability I get bullied I still look out for others because I have a kind heart ❤ and a shout out to everyone that struggle with being anxious sad angry do what I do the 4,7,8 breath and what you do is you breath in for 4seconds and hold it for 7seconds and breathe out for 8seconds. And never let people force you to be they want you to be you can be anything you want to be like me I always want to be a firefighter but I won't be able to make it on the team so I'm going to try hard to be anything I want to be so please look out for others and be kind like I say sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me or you so don't let yourself get bullied so just speak to someone you trust and let them help you so take this advice and share this with others and always spread kindness and if you bully people just apologise and get advice to be kind like I do but I'm not a bully I'm a someone who helps people and give good advice

Canada is supposed to have great health care.. and here I am paying out of pocket for my son's therapies because the wait time is Years to get anything, which only covers part of one year of therapy. Then you're on your own. We are LUCKY, legit lucky, to be in the situation we're in now where we can kind of afford it. People are out here with decent jobs, both parents working, and it's still unaffordable for them. Yes these therapists should get paid, but the government should be doing more.
I feel you! If it wasn’t for my father with the biggest heart helping me with my sons ABA, I don’t know where my son would be right now in terms of development. He’s been doing ABA for almost a year now and the progress he has made is remarkable! Before he never communicated just (screams/ cries) but now he talks in full sentences and tells me his wants and needs. He’s almost 5. I’m extremely grateful for my father and extremely pissed off with our government! I’m in Ontario
