    I rode both..for me It's the CB350 which is miles ahead, just because of it's super refined almost friction less engine, its operate with one finger clutch and a gear box that's a joy to operate..The Meteor's drive train is commendable too but nothing out of ordinary considering present day standards..

  • @VishakPillaiNagercoil
    @VishakPillaiNagercoil 2 года назад +11

    The taller gear ratio of CB350 makes it feel a little less powered compared to Meteor. But due to the taller ratio highway cruising experience is better. Engine runs at relatively lower rpm for a given speed and hence it feels much smoother. Also gives better highway mileage and engine runs cooler.

    • @RK-X
      @RK-X 2 года назад +3

      Test driven my cousins Hness,
      The taller gear ratios seem like an advantage Not just in highways , but in city conditions too... One just have to juggle between first two gears for low speed or traffic conditions. You don't have to go for 3rd/4th gear unless you are hitting above 70...
      Other bikes require you to use the entire gear ratio within 50 or at traffic conditions too ...
      Less usage of gears gives better fuel efficiency..

    My personal opinion: Honda CB 350 is made in Japan and there are import charges and all those related costs. Also, it provides better build quality than the Meteor 350.
    RE have thrown loads of plastics in Meteor where Honda has understood the expectations of Indian buyers they have studied our RE classics thoroughly and have given a machine that has all the build quality and goodies of RE classics further added a reliable smooth Honda engine with some tech.
    Being an imported vehicle, Honda has managed to price it well but, RE has priced so close to Honda with deprived build quality.
    Note: When i say build quality am not meaning the fit and finish that has been improved in RE but, the quality of the materials used are not what as we Indians expect from RE.

    Gr8 comparo vlog. I still have another point to add though. RE Classic 350 & Honda CB350 would make for a better comparo vlog. Reason - both of those bikes are built for the same purpose - commuting. RE Meteor is designed as a cruiser, hence, I wouldn't compare the Meteor with the CB350.

I have trial ridden both and it's the CB350 I am going for ( not that the Meteor is not good ). The difference i found is between is what separates a complete machine ( CB350 ) and a satisfying machine ( meteor 350 ). RE is not suitable for everyday City commutes. Too much weight, poor ownership experience, low mileage, High maintenance costs, more vibration, etc, etc... Only good thing about re is massive road presents and brand value. But for this, one has to hide all the pain in the name of classic retro bike. Smart people already knows what value for money is.... Gr8 comparison.
    Incl reference of Udit, Kumar,Shane and 10dulkar.
    You forgot about dancing legend Dino 🔥.
    Coming back to bikes, I felt under punch of meteor and same feeling of thunderbird and a feeling of hollow engine.
    Comfort was better on meteor, but riding quality was better on CB350.
    Hey can you add Himalayan or mention in brief wrt Himalayan if you add to comparison. Will be a help..cause am on verge of sadly switching from Hima to CB or meteor...please suggest.(sadly due to reasons of Tyre tubes, pillion comfort, and being 5'7 discomfort while making u turns...rest hima is best.
    Pls. Suggest.

    Will go for cb but wanna wait for some refinement from honda. More bigwings needed,very less colour options in pro varient, digital instrument cluster less readable so secondary cluster like meteor would be in next few months,wider mirror positioning, touring seat misses out, weird charging port positioning,gear lever awkward ( heel- toe angle),horn-indicator switch position swapped and clutch lever is too far. I expect a thorough refinement from Honda in near future 👍

    Best bike is RE Meteor. I have taken test ride of both the bikes. RE is better any day over CB 350 in terms of comfort, initial throttle response, punchiness, service and overall flick ability. Honda has to learn a lot from RE in this segment. That’s why there is a waiting of 4 months in RE and CB you go and buy any day. RE is house full and big wing is flop. Just check yourself guys.

    Taller meant to change frequent gear changes in CB. I think RE is better here. It pulls in any gear and very tractable. If u have big wing sure u can buy CB. But RE is a practical choice. But u will be happy with either of these two. Waiting to book either one. So much confusion.

    I will certainly visit the showrooms to get a good look at these two but after coming out and after a cup of coffee will head straight to the nearest Jawa showroom. But but but....what about the Bullet Standard with the red petrol tank; it looks the best of the RE lineup.

    Hondas are built to last. Royal Enfields are like WW2 machines. Am better off seeing an RE in a War Memorial Museum than ride on the road. Seriously.
