- This is clearly the question that is bugging all of us right? It’s bugging Rohan a lot more. So he decided to use his superpowers and called together India’s top motorcycle reviewers, Kartikeya Singhee, Shumi and Varun Painter to help him decide which one to buy. The only one missing is the Benelli Imperiale, but a test ride bike wasn’t available, so what to do only. The trio sits down with Rohan at the PowerDrift office to figure out which one to buy. Should it be the powerful and energetic Royal Enfield Meteor? Or the just-released, all-new Royal Enfield Classic 350? Or Honda’s duo of competitors, the CB 350 RS or the Highness? Or is the updated Jawa Jawa the one to get? Tough decision, no? And if you think you know the answer... prepare for shocks and surprises!

Meteor 350❤️
The Classic 350. Just saw the chrome and signals versions at a nearby showroom today evening. Absolutely in love with the sound, smoothness, and the comfort 😄😄
Love the revamped classic, have ridden a Jawa and own a Meteor 350 😀
Honda CB350
Seems all are inclined towards the Classic by default😁😁. I own a CB 350 RS and been riding for QUIET some time. After crossing 3000+ kms. i am loving it more. Suspension has also become a bit softer. About mileage i m getting 38-42. RE is just way behind CB 350 by all means. Nothing comes closer to Honda.
Own it to know it better......

Jawa ka ground clearance ekdam ghatia hai .
Jawa looks good. Performance is non-existent.
Just an American observation from someone who owned Honda's first year of their CL350 scrambler. Was at least 34 horsepower at over 10k RPM on a 180 degree twin cylinder bike that weighed about 340 pounds. The willingness of that engine to spin above 8K rpm was what made it so exciting, 2 valves per cylinder, 10.5:1 CR. The horsepower curve plateaued from about 8K to 10K with the flattish torque curve about 2.5K lower so the engine came into 5K rpm and surged even more power. It was a top heavy bike though.
One fine sunday in the last winters, I went ahead and booked the Classic 350 out of a random impulse.
After which I watched a lot of reviews of that motorcycle but I resisted myself from watching this one (until I got the delivery) because I didn't want the classic 350 to lose to any other motorcycle... and as I watch it today, I feel this beautiful pleasure within myself.
You did the best thing brother.
I did it too.✌️😁
I would've suggested that you should've taken a test drive of both RE and Honda CB 350Rs and then made a decision but seems like I am a bit late 😅

I am riding royal Enfield bikes from last 12 years. 8 years with thunder bird and 4 years with Continental gt 535. As expert mentioned Royal Enfield bikes connect to your emotion.
But biggest problem with RE is reliability.
And vibration in the bike. After each servicing you have to visit service center atleast once to get all your work done.
If these two things has been resolved then you can go for it .
Otherwise Honda 350 RS is a excellent bike for daily use as per various RUclips moro channels.
i really feel the highness should be there instead of RS...and highness looks like a bigger chunkier bike RE classis is maybe better but when i use the switch gear on the highness as compared to any RE i feel its a modern retro
Rewatching this after finally being able to buy a Classic 350 in the US! Such a great discussion and analysis. It would be great to have some of these competitors in North America, especially the Honda. That said, I am very much looking forward to the Hunter 350 and Classic 650 next year!
Classic 650 is gonna be 🔥...i also came here after buying a classic 350 ..lol
I feel the emotions related to RE has overshadowed a neutral POV for classic retro bikes. Surprisingly Honda H'ness is not there in comparison which is an apt contender, RS is more about the looks and a bit committed, not a proper classic retro bike.
Absoultely spot on buddy! Earlier these same guys used to mock RE for “Feel” and the “sluggish” factor now they seem to have developed a liking for it. What an irony!
Just coz shumi doesn't like the name .. they won't get that bike for review 🤦♂️🤦♂️😬
What took the cake was repeated references to feel about puttering at 40 Kmph , if that's the idea of a lovely ride then why not stick to scooty or activa.
@@powerslavenegi or a tractor 🤭😅😂🤣
@@powerslavenegi You are correct. But RE outsells every bike manufacturer based on "feel" or "cult status" factor only. That's why they have take that into account. Otherwise the review would be foolish as it is obvious RS is a better bike on paper coupled with Honda's famed reliability.
Honda CB350, I do own one and this is the best among ! 🔥
This is their first iteration of the product and they already ticked every check boxes. Not as other brands which uses their customers as prey of their first gen products. Every brand keep on fairing up in terms of quality but can't match Honda in terms of it.
The ownership experience matters than any kind of emotion for me !
Hi what u think abt the cooling system whether air cooled engine is ok for it??
Big wing showrooms are the biggest let down of honda. I too think it's the nicest looking of the bunch ( I personally feel the old classic(UCE) looked better), but looks are subjective. Couldn't test ride it unfortunately since no showroom in Lucknow. But I understood the "best slowest" reference for the classic, not necessarily wanted or enjoyed by everyone. That relaxed feeling is lacking by far in jawa, which absolutely feels like a modern day bike - a pulsar 200ns on steroids is what I would describe the jawa engine which lacks character.
@@freezfive2038 It's fine until you are wearing shorts and riding the bike in bumper to bumper traffic still it's manageable. They might bring on the next gen will see !

Apart from the discussion of which one is more Retro: For daily commute, CB350 seems to be better for its engine refinement, feather light clutch, easy maneuver ability in the city and the premium looks. RE doesn't look premium anymore, as we r used to RE looks for decades and It mostly looks like an uncle's motor cycle rather CB350 looks fresh and younger. Even the meteor looks like a beefed up thunderbird. Nothing new in terms of looks. Atleast this is my opinion.

Honda highness looks nothing special in terms of looks. Just a simple bike. Whereas a meteor gives that bobber and cruiser look
@@adityarana6347Okay, May be that is ur opinion. For me, It is just a beefed up thunderbird. No big difference. And engine refinement not even close to Honda. And RE reliability has always been questionable. We will have to wait and see how meteor and other newer models perform in that sector.

I used to hate the older gen Royal Enfields and was a KTM fan through and through. But since the time they dropped a world class 650cc engine the brand has shot up in the terms of quality and customer experience. I was so impressed that I got an Interceptor myself; and by the looks of it they have nailed the ball out of the ball park again with the Classic 350.
True...
You must also check out the way Himalayan has grown, I got one 6 months back and it’s as well built as the interceptor (I have been using the interceptor since October 2019), they have revised the Electricals in line with the interceptor, the fueling has taken a leap ahead. RE is on a roll, only problem is finding good mechanics at workshops.
Let's also not forget the findings of FortNine's engine quality test results. Royal Enfield was on par and even exceeded some European manufacturers in terms of engine quality. The turnaround they have done in the past couple of years is mind blowing.
@@sinuslebastian6366 yes ...that test was awesome and RE was the top crown bearer of results 👍
Same. The 650 is a gem.
The classic 350 is good. I see it everywhere, it's really good now but I feel they're late at it since it's just soooooo common. I see more classics than splendors now😂 (Obligatory living in Punjab/Haryana)

Man love love LOVED this conversation! The banter is incredible and yet the talks are so informative!
The Classic is so good because of its character, the new improvements give the old character a bit of smoothness and more desirable for a newer customer base compared to the old fan base
The highness is definitely the best among these, the Honda badge comes with a lot of expectations and it definitely lives upto it and maybe goes beyond that! But the bigwing thing definitely puts people off, honda need it to bring it to tier 2 and 3 cities to even come close to topple the RE
The meteor is definitely the most confusing here, I'd prefer the UCE thunderbird all day!!
I don't have anything to say about the Jawa and so was the case with the 4 of you so that says a lot 😂

No use talking to u, why buy a long stroke engine in the 1st place, clearly u dont understand the segment and purpose of a particular engine type and bike audience, and start comparing everything with Splendor as though a cheap insult is going to make u smarter..
I don't have a practical need for a 300-350 (I cruise 75-80 mph) but I'm very interested in the RE Classic 350 as a 2nd bike because it looks like a perfectly restored motorcycle from a museum. Absolutely beautiful. It's a piece of art on wheels. I hear they may come to the USA in 2022.

Im glad to see RE finally up their game with new refined engines and quality. The Himalayan and the new J series are popular in europe, but a high price compared to home market. Many choose to take a second hand honda instead for the same money due to better quality. If the price point was the same as India, you would struggle to make enough. The 650 Interceptor was the UK biggest selling bike. Well done.

Wouldn't interceptor fit in this retro bikes category ? I would have loved to hear it being compared as well. And is the tappet sound audible in both classic, meteor and interceptor ?
After riding jawa, cb350 and older generation classic, i will say in acceleration, jawa accelerates unlike any other bike mentioned above as it is a short stroke engine, it is very similar to duke 200 in lower and mid range
Yeah very much true...I think they purposefully avoided praising the pros of Jawa and highlighted the minor cons. Jawa is a ktm in retro Avatar. Acceleration is far better in jawa than hness with its tall gearing with Nil top end torque availability.
