The first 35 of these guns were basically built by hand. The later ones with a number of improvements were built on a CNC Mill. As to the nose dive it is likely the gas system. It may need adjusting. At about the 14 minute mark, the bolt and the bolt carrier looks very similar to the SVT-40 system. Even down to the recoil spring being super aggressive when trying to take it out.
I really love this type of content where you really get into the guts of the gun and show how exactly everything works together. It's helped me a lot with maintenance of my own firearms and being able to diagnose any issues by actually understanding how all of the parts function in tandem with one another. Thanks!
I think my favorite part is when the bolt locks up due to feed ramp being hit and miss locks the bolt open on a very easy to spot manner. Anyone in the area and the handler will immediately notice the giant open bolt being hung up. Beautiful 50 Calibers as always ❤ ♥ 💖
A mate of mine that was an amazing armourer (Nick D) at 42 commando back in the day went on to be an authority on weapons of the world for UK SF. Then moved on to be a UK wide authority. He rang me once to look at a Pauza P-50 and once thing I remember unique to the tool kit was a recoil rod/spring assembly tool. It was simple but genius in its effectiveness.
The Harmonics in that barrel are absolutely insane, you could clearly see at least a half inch of walk in the slow-mo shots!!! @@mortenrl1946 the barret has the barrel ride on a spring assembly to absorb the shock, this has nada so its gonna take on all the force of that beast of a round
After some of the technical explanations, I am now sitting in my room racking my Yugo SKS pretending it’s a Pauza while Brandon racks the actual Pauza. Take from this what you will.
RUclips was on point today with the difficult disassembly videos. I landed here after watching Forgotten Weapons vid on the CZ-100 where Ian filmed himself disassembling the slide on said pistol and the striker spring yeeted itself across the room. Does make you wonder why Brandon and crew made a wood block tool, and who the poor sap was that has a Pauza 50 recoil spring diameter hole in their hand.
Hey Brandon, I own a SVT-40 and it seems to work and assemble very similarly, the best way to get the bolt spring and dust cover on is to use a 7.62x54r round to hold the spring in place (ends up in the literal perfect position), have you tried a .50 cal round instead of the wood block? It might function similar.
Incredible info, I love movie gun data. I always thought the Robocop rifles were Barret .50's with plastic shrouds for filiming. Super cool, thanks! If you haven't you could make a fun video on movie guns about the Aliens M41A Pulse Rifle which was based on the Thompson, with a cut down Spaz cage and chopped down shotgun as a grenade laincher, they built 100% working guns for the movie hero guns.
They used M82 Barrets in the first movie as the Cobra Assault Cannons, no idea why they went with Pauza in the second movie, probably avaibility and looks. I remember 2nd Robocop movie having alot of obscure guns in it.
If Brandon hadn't told us about this he could have just changed the markings and a few other things and presented it as the new AK 50. You have to get or use one of the gen 12 shotguns Garand Thumb recently tested. It seemed pretty friggin awesome or Scott's full auto 458 socom.
@Brandon I have an SKS and it definitely doesn't look like it! But I also have an SVT40 and it definitely looks like it! It has the same gaz block, same tilting bolt lock and this spring you have to maintain with a tool to remove the gaz cover!
I think I figured out something... If you've ever heard the stock 'Silenced gunshot' sound a lot of older movies and games used to use... The .50 sounds a lot like that slowed down. Examples would be Goldeneye64 and Command and Conquer.
The people during the making of robocop: the hell are we gonna use for his sniper? all of the ones we see are boring Ronnie G Barrett: Hey guys, I have a .50 cal prototype
The thing about the disassembly being sketchy af i dont think it'll be too much of a problem considering how frequently u clean ur weapons. Anyways love the weapons u bring to the channel and that u explain how everything works. Hope u dont get into too much debt with the stuff u buy heheh
I always appreciate the balance of education and entertainment. I've been able to learn more from videos like this, than the informational videos and forums out there on various firearms.
Brandon... You can fix the 1st magazine by balancing the spring in the mag to a slightly forward bias. The second issue might be that you are not building up enough compression to thrust the charging handle all the way to the back. Maybe grab some of Scott's slap rounds. I hear they have more pressure built into them from the factory
Shooting a box of beer from about 3m away with a god damn 50bmg from the shoulder while wearing flip-flops might be the most American thing I have ever seen
The muzzle brake being loose probably adds to the poor vibrational characteristics. Even at that speed slo mo it looks like cooked spaghetti every time Brandon fired, but I think at least some of it is the bipod mounts track system. Slower slo mo footage would be interesting.

I dont know man, the universe might split in two if these guys meet on the range.
@@Likexner I don’t think so, I think that rifles must be documented by Ian. And that would be a great collab between channels!
AK Guy and Gun Jesus meeting on the range? That would be a hell of a video, this needs to happen.
Agreed. Those could be great collaborations. 👍
Don't forget the Luty. Ian has handled the real one but obviously couldn't shoot it. We need a range video with the Luty from Ian
The sound.
it has this high pitched screetch to it, sounds neat. even tho i find the amount of barrel-vibration in the first slow-mo kinda weird
At about the 14 minute mark, the bolt and the bolt carrier looks very similar to the SVT-40 system. Even down to the recoil spring being super aggressive when trying to take it out.
I think it is copy of the svt-40.
0:31 Robocop’s introduction in MK11 definitely brought this to my attention way more, I was always curious as to what .50 he was using
Completely forgot about this gun’s existence since it was in Robocop 2, thanks for bringing it back into the light Brandon!
It was in robocop 1 as well as the Cobra Assault Cannon
@@thegodofthebeer5388 Wasn't that a Barrett in the first one?
EDIT: Just checked the props, yeah it's the older version of a Barrett M82.
@@thegodofthebeer5388 The Cobra Assault Cannon was a Barrett. No mistaking the arrowhead muzzle device 😉
I remember seeing this thing in robocop 2 and wandering "What the hell is that thing"
Didn't think it was something that actually existed.
The slow mo sound of this being fired sounds like a movie sound effect. Pretty damn cool.
The Harmonics in that barrel are absolutely insane, you could clearly see at least a half inch of walk in the slow-mo shots!!! Good on you for keeping history alive when all people these days want to do is kill it bad.... Yes I said kill it bad! My son came up with that term when he was little and I was still doing contract work! 😆 Much Love Brother!
Yeah, the barrel wobbles like crazy, saw it too.
I noticed the same thing. Is that normal?
@@mortenrl1946 the barret has the barrel ride on a spring assembly to absorb the shock, this has nada so its gonna take on all the force of that beast of a round
I saw that too but it looks more like a whole inch either way.
Also with the violent action I'm not sure it's going to hold a zero.
I thought maybe it could be caused by the heat distortion or the gas in the video, glad to know I'm not crazy.
You should let Ian at Forgotten Weapons get his hands on this. I even smell a potential badass collaboration.
6:40 HAHAHA love how your arms are literally trembling and screaming but your voice is straight, no tremble at all. Now that's composure right there!
3:49 you can really see those barrel harmonics.
nice
Would love to see a comparison video of all the 50s you can get hands on, like this one is lighter, this one wiggles wierd, etc.
After some of the technical explanations, I am now sitting in my room racking my Yugo SKS pretending it’s a Pauza while Brandon racks the actual Pauza. Take from this what you will.
6:44 *What a waste of good milk* 🤣
10:53 *What a waste of good claws* 🤣
if he hasn't already done a video on it, you should let Forgotten Weapons do a video on this wonderful piece.
I'm amazed that he managed to outbid Ian on it...
@@ScottKenny1978 Well, it's not French, so...
@@mattrobson3603 Ian still buys things that are not French.
If you haven't, you really should get the Auto 9 Berretta on the show to complete having another automatic weapon and another cool RoboCop gun
Or build his own.
All he needs is a Beretta 93R, and to make his own muzzle device
@@benhislop1458 beretta 93rs are so fucking rare tho would be easier to convert one

00:11 That look of pure happiness Brandon has when his name can be said next to the other big caliber guns.
This thing sounds so satisfyingly chunky, and that clunk sound when its loads another round. By god is this just a beautiful gun to listen to.
50 cal? Oh hell yes
AK daddy like.
Not only a 50 cal but a rare one
You're right. Never heard of it.
Interesting as heck.
6:40 "blasting at jugs in 3, 2, 1..."
Used that in the bedroom the other night, got a wierd look from my partner...
I just made this comment. Maybe he will see one of them.
Never a dull moment in these videos 🤣 Keep it up my guy!
With what'd happened with Kentucky Ballistics I would have thought you'd at least try the string method first. Kudos on the balls of steel.
I think I figured out something... If you've ever heard the stock 'Silenced gunshot' sound a lot of older movies and games used to use... The .50 sounds a lot like that slowed down. Examples would be Goldeneye64 and Command and Conquer.
And GoldenEye's successor, Perfect Dark
I see what you mean. Very good 👍 observation sincerely.
My hometown is Baytown, Texas. Fun fact parts of RoboCop 2 were shot in Baytown. Notably the slums of futuristic Detroit 😂
I bet it would be a fun project to make your own carry handle/scope mount for it with a pic rail.

At the 2:00 mark, I kept expecting Brandon to stand up, walk off, and come back with Scott to make him take the first shot.
I love how metallic the firing sound is!
I love when you include those AK-50 firing clips... Can tell you're really celebrating your wins and that's great to see :) Keep it up, Brandon!
it never Ceases to amaze me how simple yet complicated guns are. love the videos and we need more Robocop guns
Even forgotten weapons doesn't have a video on the Pauza P50. If they did, I would probably know robocop 2 existed.
13 when training with the CAF on the FN-C1, that tilting or rocking of the block was called "camming".
I love the ‘every chance I get I’m gonna show that cycling ak-50 clip’ - keep chasing you dream Brandon :)
Brandon: "This thing can explode."
Also Brandon: **proceeds to put his face right next to a potentially explody .50 BMG**

This weapon platform single-handily has the best slowmo sound hands down!
PEW!
4:37 Technically, it is now your third rarest .50 Cal, after the AK-50 of which 1 has ever been made, and your M82A2.
I always appreciate the balance of education and entertainment. I've been able to learn more from videos like this, than the informational videos and forums out there on various firearms.
The instant the words “this gun could just explode” came out of his mouth my brain instantly thought of Scott from Kentucky Ballistics
Brandon... You can fix the 1st magazine by balancing the spring in the mag to a slightly forward bias.
The second issue might be that you are not building up enough compression to thrust the charging handle all the way to the back. Maybe grab some of Scott's slap rounds. I hear they have more pressure built into them from the factory
"I hear they have more pressure built into them from the factory"
You spelled 'bubba's loading bench' wrong.
Thanks for doing what you do man. You're a big part of the reason I'm making steps towards starting my own Pew business.
Shooting a box of beer from about 3m away with a god damn 50bmg from the shoulder while wearing flip-flops might be the most American thing I have ever seen
Never seen a weapon's barrel shake so much, amazing feature lmao
That vibration can't be good
probably not very helpful for its accuracy on consecutive shots, but yeah, when you have to spam the gun accuracy probably isnt of ones concern so....
Oh yea the whole thing is bouncing on the bipod rail. Great design!
The muzzle brake being loose probably adds to the poor vibrational characteristics. Even at that speed slo mo it looks like cooked spaghetti every time Brandon fired, but I think at least some of it is the bipod mounts track system. Slower slo mo footage would be interesting.
