GOD I HATE to say this... but after reading these comments, there are too many people saying the same thing. I mean, there are far too many more forgiving the painfully awful 2003 movie. But if I felt pressured to like something I didn't like... I'm not sure what to say to people, other than to question their taste. When, fucking sadly... it's the fact that they are too young and have a Movie Watching diet of complete crap. They probably haven't watched anything before 1994. Unless it's Disney's _Beauty and the Beast_ or _Little Mermaid_ (I of course, love _The Little Mermaid_ but that's neither here nor there- I actually make sure to watch old movies not just horror but everything and I'm a huge fan of older movies now. Horror movies started sucking a lot after 2002. But these kids today, even in their 30's, are just overgrown children. Of course- I'm in my 30's too but I didn't even like the trailers for _Cabin Fever_ and _Jeepers Creepers_ when I was 18, 19, 20 years old.)
I just love every part of the movie, and in the beginning where the camera zooms out from the girls head is a truly well done scene. It’s beautiful but in some twisted and disturbing way ya know?
I don't think Erin was stupid actually she was very smart and fast, The thing is every single person act in different ways through a traumatized moment, she was the only one who survived (I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't get out of a creepy situation like this)
Erin got everyone dead, not just that but even when her brother saved her from dying to leather face, she could just pick up the chainsaw that was on the ground while leatherface was hanging morgan up and kill leatherface to save morgan just like morgan saved her before. But the princess preferred to stay in the fetal position in the corner of the room, didn't she? So not only she got all her friends killed she even failed to save her brother after he saved her
not just that, but it is clear how she doesnt give a fuck to her friends, cause when she manage to get andy killed trying to look for kemper she just go back to the van and try to do everything to start the van and get outta there

I remember seeing this in theaters when I was 10 with my dad. was amazing on the big screen as a 10 year old. The trailer that played before Freddy Vs. Jason even had clapping when I saw that in theaters too. People weren't expecting a remake at the time. My parents took me to a lot of bad moves growing up lol

Even worse on dvds like evil dead. It helped me adjust to the gorier stuff later imo. I bet it did ruin me mentally too lol
I was stationed down at Camp Pendleton in 1974, when I saw the ORIGINAL in a seedy little theater......in neighboring Oceanside, CA. The sort of theater that usually showed X-rated films & had damp seats & sticky floors.....LOL.

The original used real animal carcasses to decorate the set. The lead actress even had her finger intentionally cut open in one scene. You can't get more brutal than that. No matter how much fake blood is thrown at the camera.

The prequel to the one you just watched, and a more recent one, (2018 I think) which is supposed to be a prequel to the '74 original. I personally wish they'd do an origin story about Grandpa! Yeah Texas Chainsaw is probably the scariest of the classic horror movies becuase it's plot is actually very realistic, especially since part of the concept of the movie was based on a real story following Ed Gein.

Unpopular opinion but: This is the best Texas Chainsaw movie, even more than the original. The Leatherface in this was WAY more terrifying and just brutal. Plus the acting was really great, the cinematography was perfect, and the vibe of the whole movie was just eerie as fuck.
This is my favorite in the whole franchise too. I even like its prequel. I wish the sequel was cancelled. I would’ve liked to see what else they could do in this continuity.

1 of like..3 remakes that I actually really like. Dawn of the Dead is another..I can't remember the third one, if there is one. haha So few remakes are even half-decent. There's a movie you should check out called "High Tension" if you can find it. It's French, but soo worth it. Also "the tunnel", which is an Australian horror film. You'll like those.

Unpopular opinion but:
This is the best Texas Chainsaw movie, even more than the original.
The Leatherface in this was WAY more terrifying and just brutal. Plus the acting was really great, the cinematography was perfect, and the vibe of the whole movie was just eerie as fuck.
This is my favorite in the whole franchise too. I even like its prequel. I wish the sequel was cancelled. I would’ve liked to see what else they could do in this continuity.
Tasha you have gotta watch the highest grossing film of 1997 Titanic you should totally watch it.

So few remakes are even half-decent. There's a movie you should check out called "High Tension" if you can find it. It's French, but soo worth it.
Also "the tunnel", which is an Australian horror film. You'll like those.
