Fun Fact: The reason the trailer was creepy was because they filmed shots specifically for the trailer, not meant to actually be put in film. You see someone tied in christmas lights unraveling while falling off the roof, you see a body found frozen beneath ice, etc.

You ladies should watch You're Next. It has one of the most competent and badass final girls of all time. Mix of Ready or Not and Home Alone. Some dark humor thrown in it for laughs too.
Believe it or not, the 2019 version is even worse than this one.

Omg yes!!! That is one of the few movies that scared the hell out of me. I have to watch it in the light of day. Very solid remake
the director wanted it to be more serious and less gruesome but the producer didn’t want that and i do believe he did some things behind the director’s back and the director was actually friends with the director of the first one the original i feel bad for him tbh he wanted this movie to be so different and yeah i still love it, it’s entertaining and fun and all the fun trash content i love 😭

This is a stretch but you should watch Prom Night (1980) it has Jamie Lee Curtis that plays Laurie in Halloween. Also it’s super cheesy fun, I’d think you’d enjoy.
The adult Agnes was actually played by a man. Dean Friss, one of the camera operators.
The trailer for this had A BUNCH OF fake scenes only made for the tv spots and trailers to make the movie look exciting the wenstein brothers filmed it behind the directors back. There was a scene where michelle tranchenberg gets axed by billy in the trailer, another scene with dana getting dragged into a snow blower sucking christmas lights, and a pond scene where jillian murray playing michelle’s character melissa finding eve in the pond and her arm bursts out, and then a scene with jillian falling entangled in Christmas lights, and there was a tv spot with michelle tranchenberg saying merry christmas mother fucker with a shotgun.
This is one of those movies I loved as a kid then watched it when I was older and was like wtf 😂

I personally like the alternate ending where the phone is ringing and the two survivors let it ring. Stays true to the original.

Good review. I have never watched this version because it is a blasphemy to the original 1974 classic. If you are looking for another holiday themed slasher review for Valentine's Day I recommend My Bloody Valentine (1981) directed by George Mihalka. It is by far the most Canadian slasher of all time and the ending is one of the best ever in the genre. If you are looking for something a little lighter with a Scream (1996) influence I recommend Valentine (2001) directed by Jamie Blanks. A ton of recognizable faces and horror movie tropes. Thanks for the videos!

I consider this movie a guilty pleasure. It's entertaining to me. It's over the top and a lot of it is just plain ridiculous but I still love it. Compared to the 2019 version, it's practically a masterpiece.

FYI, all the actors in this went on to better and bigger things. I believe this was the director's 2nd or 3rd flop so he never directed again. And judging by this movie it was a wise choice.

Plus the film was dedicated in memory for Shirley Walker The Composer who died 1 month before the release of the film.
Katie Casdidy (Kelli) the blonde one was in Harper's Island, a mini TV slasher series and she was great there. Personally here also she's OK with the script and all, I wouldn't go as "horrible" because there are far worse horror films and actresses. But to each his own. Though I wanted Melissa to live.
The thing that Katie Cassidy is best known for is the daughter of David Cassidy the singer/actor from the tv show called the Partridge family. Her career probably isn’t as successful as her dad’s though

If you guys do sci fi. I highly suggest Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Into Darkness. There's a funny comedy Horror movie called The Private Eyes with Tim Conway and Don Knotts from 1980. Also if you haven't seen it, Happy Death Day.

this film was apparently a nightmare the director wanted to make a proper homage but studio interference, they did reshoots without his permission, one of the actresses changed her name because of this bad movie, it was BAD
That does make me feel for the directors when studios completely change up what they originally wanted. I'm very curious to what would have been made without the interference!

Can I make recommendations for a couple of movies you probably haven’t seen? Both are just badass female-empowerment movies!
These are a couple of my favorites, and P2 is one of my favorite holiday movies!
“High Tension” is a beautiful emotional love story that will have you gasping for air! With an ending you will never see coming!!!
“ P2”is just a fun Holiday movie with a badass chic!!! And who doesn’t love Badass chics!!!
Black Christmas (1974) = reveals little about Billy -> excellent suspense and terror
Black X-Mas (2006) = reveals EVERYTHING -> completely ruins the suspense
2006 Billy also looks like a rejected Simpsons character.
We don't even know for certain if his name WAS Billy.

This was the backstory in TBE original Bob mark said they just never went into it but bob clArk was meaning to reveal that's why they making remake he told them either can include it in this version. Like you said though they could have done a better backstory or present it a better way. Idea wasn't that great but if executed good then it'd be better. This one is over kill compare to original. This is like rob zombies black Christmas with less vulgar language lol but too much gore violence lol.

I actually like this movie mainly for the batshit crazy cheesy factor, of course the first one is a cult classic and it's hard to make a good remake of it. Speaking of good remakes, i know that you have already watched the Texas chainsaw massacre from 2003 so i think that you should watch the hills have eyes from 2006 if you haven't already!

@@tashatipton2141 Oh no,lol!! I'm talking only of the hills have eyes remake of 2006 and maybe the sequel the hills have eyes II from 2007. The first remake of 2006 is one of the best horror movies of all time and the one from 2007 is more fun but not as good as the previous but still enjoyable. They're not for everybody i get it but sometimes we need to confront our fears and realize that it wasn't so bad after all and therefore we become stronger at the end of the day. Another one that come across my mind right now is P2 from 2007 but there's a ton of others too, i leave it there for now. Cheers Tasha!
