Frank surrounded by zombies after the destruction of the helicopter is one of the endings that can be obtained during the game. But if you have followed the story and fulfilled certain requirements the game continues after that cutscene. Carlito is a rare case of a villain with a backup plan that the protagonist can't do anything about because his main plan was already up and running before the game even started. What happened in the game is basically a plan B or even a diversion or attempt to gather those responsible for Santa Cabeza where he could kill them in person. In the end the game ends with satire, but at least Frank and Isabela survive.
Yeah when I first played this game and saw the ending, it was different from how I expected too but hey. It was still a good game and something worth playing, especially with Halloween coming
OMG I didn’t know y’all were doing these!!! Dead Rising is my all time favorite video game series ever. It’s what got me into gaming and all that. It’s such a fun series and has an interesting story. It has such a timeless quote from Frank with “I’ve covered wars ya know”. The ending where Frank screams to the sky was so spine chilling went I first played it. He knows that despite all their effort and sacrifices it would all be covered up and he was frustrated at that. Because it didn’t matter if they made it out of that situation the truth would just be buried due to lack of evidence and the government hiding it all. Couple with all the terrible experiences and the fact he got infected himself. Anyone would yell in the air frustrated.
And so concludes the first game. Honestly, a boon in the zombie genre and a great way to mix goofy gameplay with serious storytelling. You’d enjoy the second game too!
I mean considering he’s on a working tank, he probably figured out how to drive it, and got himself and Isabella out. Anyway, y’all really need to watch the cutscenes of the sequels, cause it does go places.
Isabella looked like she was minutes away from dying though. Not sure how long she could’ve lasted on that jeep. 😳 Then again, we are talking about a zombie movie anyways so we can buy that Frank got the tank up and running and blasted through them. He did cover wars after all 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Late reply, but there's a few short comics they released to bridge Deadrising 1 and 2; After 1, Frank jumps in the tank and finds Brock's custom HMG, using it to absolutely annihilate the zombies and get Isabela safely off the jeep, where they run out the city and come across sone Government types. Isabela is taken away and Frank gets a deal to leave. The comics aren't the worst read out there, so might be worth the 15 minutes to read if the DR itch picks up.
Now you guys are set up for DR 2 which will be even more interesting! The Psychopath in the second game will sure be even more...crazier! There's a lot of endings in one game, but the one you see are the canon ending.
The 'spinning backhand' is the Lariat move, as you kill zombies, take pictures, save people and defeat psychopaths you PP which is short for Power Points essentially EXP. As Frank levels up he will gain a skill what skill he gains is completely, and I do mean completely, random. he may also gain health, or movement speed bonus, the Lariat move is great against hordes of zombies as it will knock them down. Another thing is if you kill a zombie with a skill you will gain more PP from doing so. Also using a weapons special attack will give you more PP as well.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Should also mention the Lariat move is actually a reference to one Capcom's most iconic fighting game characters, Zangief.
as far as the nitpicks of how easy their solution was, just remember that this game is crazy difficult especially when it comes to the later game, you're encouraged to explore and to save lives, but the story has a timer and if you miss the time a crucial cutscene by even a second, you are allowed to continue but you don't get the good ending that you witnessed here. also the original game was i think back in 06 as one of the first releases for the Xbox 360 (not a launch title but within the first year of launch)
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames I think their are 7-8 endings; it should be like 20 minutes of content. If you want more dead rising the sequel is even better, but if you want more Frank West, he has his own version of the sequel called Dead Rising 2: Off The Record. i'd recommend watching the original sequel first if you do, because even though a couple of the story plots in the middle are the same because they tackle the story from different angles, the beginnings and endings, as well as their reactions to the situations, are vastly different if i recall correctly.
@@abucket14 yeah I like the multiplayer in off the record too especially the sand box mode. It might be funner than the original for some people because of the combo weapons and easier ai but I still prefer the original because of the atmosphere and story.
Ranch: The National Blood Type of Texas™. Frank's story does actually have a definite ending and there's quite a bit to the sequel. Dead Rising Case Zero is the next one you want to watch. To be fair, when this game came out, Capcom was not exactly Storyland Central™, point of fact Capcom at the time was known for how much cheese their stories could contain per minute.
I really hope you check out more of the Dead Rising series. I've only played DR3, and I'd love to see your reactions to cutscenes (especially the psychos) in that game!
There is actually a comic explaining in a bit more detail how Frank and Isabela escaped that little arena with the zombies. (It became a bit of a dream sequence, but the actions before it was confirmed to be a dream heavily implied to be what happened.)
12:26-12:37 To be fair, if the government is sending in Special Forces and they’ve had to rely on Emergency lines before, chances are every way of communication is blocked and his helicopter was his only chance to get so he can tell the story
i dont know if it was shown but you could actually see brads zombie in the tunnels under the mall were he was fighting against carlito. Most of the Moves Frank does are inspired by CAPCOM characters like the "spinning bitch slap" is from Zangief (Street Fighter) You can also unlock the Megaman Blaster as an really powerful weapon
When it comes to the investment in the characters, I feel like how the game was often played helped there. That is, people would restart the game again and again to make more progress through the story, as everything was on a timer and you could miss the main story just by running around bopping zombies. So you end up spending way more time with these characters than the actual runtime of the plot.
If you guys decide to watch Dead Rising 2 you should watch the "Case Zero" cutscenes as they are a prologue to the main story of the second game! As well as "Case West" which its the epilogue of the story but both are DLC's to the main game. Also there are multiple endings for each game, you should give them a watch. 🙂
Great series of reactions! There was one psychopath missing though; the gunshop owner. You should see a video of that boss. One of the better bosses in the game.
ROBIN the Bobbin, the big-bellied Ben, He ate more meat than fourscore men; He ate a cow, he ate a calf, He ate a butcher and a half; He ate a church, he ate a steeple, He ate the priest and all the people! Man when I was playing the game, I was thinking the ending seems puzzling till reaching to checking out second tome and make me go “oh okay” 😅 so I can’t wait for DR2 with the game having two different style game with you playing as Chuck Greene of if you get DR2: Off the Records, you can play as Frank West with more story pack in his POV of what happen after DR
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames "Off the Record" is a retelling of DR2 if Frank was the protagonist. DR2 follows the story of someone called Chuck Greene. Off the Record is non-canon and only serves as an "expansion" of DR2 content-wise.
I hope you guys watch Dead Rising 2, but do not confuse it with Dead Rising 2 Off the Record since it's an alternative universe where Frank West it's the protagonist, but is not canon, it's just a game that says "What would happen if Frank was in these situations?" Also, Dead Rising 2 has two story DLC, Case Zero happens before Dead Rising 2 story that explains the past of the main characters, and Case West that happens after the game ending, and it prepares the terrain for Dead Rising 3.
You guys should react to Call of duty WW2 the whole campaign. It’ll make you feel mixed emotions, but during cutscenes it’s like you are watching a movie !
I hope you will be able to do Dead Rising 2. The best in the series most would say. The story and the production value there is actually where things start picking up and actually ends on a less vague-ish note like how this game did. Plus the plot is easier to follow than this one. But it is also self contained as it doesn't reference the first game much at all. If you want to watch it in *chronological order* , then I highly suggest "Dead Rising 2 Case Zero" which is a short prequel to "Dead Rising 2." Don't worry, there's only a small handful of cut-scenes there which is less than half an hour. Edit: I would suggest *"NRMgamingHD"* cut-scenes video specifically as it contains everything you need as other videos leave out some stuff.
Are you going to do the second game? Either now or next year? To me it does have the better story and that is were weapon combinations become a real thing, though not sure if it is a spoiler but the story is basically seperate from this, elements of the story of this game doesn't make a return till the 3rd game.
I definitely recommend watching dead rising 2 off the record to continue Frank's story yes there is dead rising 2 with Chuck Green but he's not as strong as a protagonist at all and off the record is the same story, gameplay, etc with just a few tweaks. Plus there's two endings the normal one and the true ending
You should react to dead rising 2 and 3 as in those games you play as different characters and in 3 you play as one of those ticking time bomb orphans who was lucky enough not to turn into a zombie
So the game was released in 2006. It was an Xbox 360 exclusive and capitalised off of the hardware of the time. Putting it into perspective, the original Resident Evil games could have 7 zombies in active gameplay at any one time, I believe. Dead Rising had the potential for hundreds. So yeah, definitely dated, but still impressive for the time. What didn’t help in this compilation was the missed cutscenes for some of the bosses and Brad in particular. His passing is quite poignant, and I feel it makes that interaction with Jessie when she mentions Brad getting his hands on Carlito all the more sad. I will say, Dead Rising 2 does have a more compelling story, and if you do react to it, I suggest you start with Case Zero before moving onto the main game. It sets up a lot of the plot points and motivation that drives the new character.
I hope you two react to Hunt:Showdown a western shooter that has PvPVE. You track down boss(es)and banish back to hell while trying to survivor monsters and other hunters(players) in the Louisiana Bayou. There is a quite a bit of lore about the game too.
As much of an idiot Frank West comes across as, he is pretty competent. He knows some martial arts skills, has killed multiple people over the course of this game that he shouldn't really have any chance of beating, and is physically strong enough to disembowel zombies with his bare hands because that is literally a skill he can learn in game. The man is one of those people that goes into a situation and gets in way over his head, but proves to be surprisiny capable at dealing with that situation.
I hope u guys will continue with the dead rising franchise, just so u guys know Dead Rising 2 Case Zero is the continuation (The prequel/prologue to Dead Rising 2)
I’m a year late but Isabella and frank did survive the events Isabella makes an appearance in dead rising 3 and case zero in the comics it shows how they escaped
This was a fun reaction, though the compilation y’all used is a bit odd. It includes all mandatory story cutscenes to the canon ending, and several of the optional psychopath boss scenes… though weirdly not all. Cletus is a drunken redneck who locks down the mall’s gun store, Kent is a fellow photographer whose willing to go further than Frank for a money-shot, and my personal favorite Cliff is a war vet whose PTSD got triggered when the nightmare began. While none of them are plot important, you get more of the hammy as hell acting, subtle as a seductive sea lion social commentary, and the rare shred of genuine tragedy that I love DR1 for.
You guys are totally valid on the shortcomings of the story, I will give it some credit though; It was a budget launch title by a Japanese team in 2006, essentially sold on the gimmick of having alot of zombies onscreen at once. It was destined to have an awful plot, but they managed to make it interesting enough to make you want more. Not to overly defend it, but stories in games have come light years ahead now. I was still a bit sad to see the series turn to dark satire starting from DR2, but games are oversaturated with serious zombie games now.
Yeah that spinning attack is goofy 😜 but really helps when you’re surrounded by zombies and plus the final boss in dead rising are hard as hell and hope you pack a lot of food and drinks Yeah the ending is kinda anti-climatic but he did report and told the world about it in dead rising 3
i hope you two will react to dead rising 2. its the first dead rising game i played and its really fun and good story too. with epic main character, chuck! lol

I hate how they don't show if Isabela made it or not. They just show Frank screaming like a mad man and then it cuts off. It says Frank escaped but it doesn't say anything about Isabela. I'm guessing she made it, but I wish they would of shown her getting on the tank with Frank or something.
Alright, now for Dead Rising 2. We have our new protagonist, Chuck Greene, who has to find a way to get out alive of Fortune City with his daughter Katie. There's also Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, which is kinda the same story as Dead Rising 2, but it's a "What if" game, featuring Frank as the main character, and some things are changed in the story. And then there's Case West, which is a DLC chapter for Dead Rising 2, that happens shortly after the events of the game, where Chuck meets Frank and they go on a little adventure together, and this DLC chapter sets the terrain for Dead Rising 3

Think you guys are overthinking it. I didn't mind the open ending because I wanted a sequel.
Overthinking it and making things more complicated then need be is our speciality 😆😎😇
Hey wasn't there a Devil May Cry 5 part 4 stream coming today?
That sounds pretty cool 😀
To be fair to Isabela, Jessie was booba bit. She only checked the neck from what we've seen.
Also please react to dead rising 4 where frank returns as the main character and the dlc for it as it gets really crazy
Please do Deadrising 2, it was such a great sequel
Pink rings are naughty shots.
You gotta do the other 3 games. I think you will like Chuck Greene as the main character of dead rising 2.
😎👍😀
This was great.
😊🥳
I hope you do the other games. This series deserves a reboot. The first one is probably my favorite due to its atmosphere.
I know this might be a little late but I really hope you guys check out Dead Rising 2!
I’m a year late but Isabella and frank did survive the events Isabella makes an appearance in dead rising 3 and case zero in the comics it shows how they escaped
You guys should watch the dead rising 2 story now please I would love your guys reaction 😂
I love the dead rising games because u can get multiple endings
If you ever get the time, you should check out a video about all the psychos in the first game. These cutscenes skipped ALOT of them.
Kent, Cletus and especially Cliff. The fact that those cut-scenes weren't included was actually disappointing.
Yeah we heard we missed several that we will need to go back to and check out 🙂
Next one on the list would be Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, it's a prequel to DR2 proper and sets up our new protagonist.
😎👍🙂
Yeah that spinning attack is goofy 😜 but really helps when you’re surrounded by zombies and plus the final boss in dead rising are hard as hell and hope you pack a lot of food and drinks
Yeah the ending is kinda anti-climatic but he did report and told the world about it in dead rising 3
At least the spinning attack has a purpose for clearing our zombie herds 😁👻
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames oh yeah haha
Are you gonna react to the missing Dead Rising cutscenes (zombies at nightime, Clif and Kent encounters) & Brad's death?
Yeah we have to check those out 😅
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Still waiting. Though I could lend a hand maybe. 🤔
i hope you two will react to dead rising 2. its the first dead rising game i played and its really fun and good story too. with epic main character, chuck! lol
I just subscribed, hope to see you react to DR2 and DR Off The Reccord someday.
19:46 gasp doggy 😍😍😍😍 I didn't know u had a dog so cute what is their name
Tbh I mean the fact we didn't see most of the cutscenes we wish u guys saw I do hope in future we can see other people videos on all of the cutscenes psychopath and just what we expect too see unless otherwise
I will say this if u continue with the storyline of the DR storyline so like after this you would watch it in this order DR 1 DR case zero DR2 DR2 off the record is a different MC it's amazing tho DR 2 case west DR3 and finally DR4 I do hope u react too all these in future times 😍😍😍😍
Yup we have a couple dogs 🐶 🥰 Shame this cutscene missed some psychopaths and the Brad scene. Usually Gamers Little Playground is reliable when it comes to including all the scenes 🤗
Dead rising 2 time!!!!!
Won’t be right away but we will be checking it out 🙂
So yeah you’ve missed some cutscenes incase I’m missing something
Including two psychos
The list u watched prob isn’t the best layed out so maybe I missed it but I’m pretty sure u missed some but I remember there being a gun shop guy and a machete guy
And also Brad's death cutscene
there are multiple endings btw if u guys can find a video to react to
Thanks for letting us know 🙂
Dead rising 2 is really good it's much cheasier and embraces how over the top it is
Um dead rising 2 is the most serious of the franchise....
Dead rising 3 is over the top not 2
Remember kids
ALWAYS check the backseat of your transport in a zombie apocalypse
It happen in RE2 and it can happen in a helicopter!
I'm guessing the pilot was trying to help someone since he has a random zombie in the back
No good deed goes unpunished 😭
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames
Exactly!
The Psychos were smart!
well some...
i think you two will like the second game, idk if you will but i hope it will
Lot of hype for 2nd game 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames mhm, i thnk you will like the main character in the second game and also there are dlcs for the second game too
I hate how they don't show if Isabela made it or not. They just show Frank screaming like a mad man and then it cuts off. It says Frank escaped but it doesn't say anything about Isabela. I'm guessing she made it, but I wish they would of shown her getting on the tank with Frank or something.
Have you played DR3?
@@frankkennedy6388 No, cause it's only on xbox one.
@@Lorenzferus Well that will answer all your questions on Isabela👍
is that a Papillion? I use to have one
It's kind of funny how this series made guns almost useless as opposed to diy melee weapons.
i think you guys will like Dead rising 2 more.
It's so much more human and well voice acted
Heard that the reason for the anticlimatic ending and lack of co-op is because they ran outta time.
That makes sense and tracks with Capcom. Seems like they always rush or run out time with their games 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Kinda fitting since the in-game Drad Rising time limit is pretty strict itself.
Dead Rising 2 is more horrifying than the first one y'all would love the sequel
React to dead rising 2 cutscenes now, honestly it's a bit more fast paced and good as well, maybe the rest of the games if y'all want
We heard Dead Rising two has the better story 🙂
Hi guys how are you guys? Are you doing well?
We are doing well thanks 🤗
You should watch silent hill 2 remake trailer
Dang, I wanted them to watch Dead Rising 2 :(
Nonetheless, cool reaction
We will. Not right away but we will be checking it out 😅
Alright, now for Dead Rising 2.
😎👍😀
dead rising 2!
Maybe Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance cutscenes next?
The new chapter of helluva boss is amazing you must react that chapter
I agree it would’ve made more sense for the helicopter to get shot down.
Why would that zombie be in his helicopter without him noticing it?
Now it’s time for you guys to react to Deadrising 2 and I think you guys would like it much better (plot wise) character wise, not as good as Frank 😔
Ranch is horrible and I’m American. I just ate my vegetables.
You need to react to cj dachamp its good
Watch deadrising 2
There's a reason why most people say dead rising 2 is the best one. And I hope you get see it one day.
We will 🙂
