    Trade deficit? It's market/capitalist based.
If you (EU) doesn't have good/products that the chinese need, than they will not buy it from you. It's that simple.
If you go to the supermarket to buy grocery, will you also say to the supermarket it's not fair.

China H1 growth is much better than US and EU so China's economy is not in trouble. What is in trouble is Europe companies' poor performance against Chinese competition as in the eV sector, and Chinese lost the taste for extravagant luxury after the housing correction. As to regulator uncertainties, just think of what Chinese co's like Huawei and ZTE had to put up with in the last decade. EU co's are not facing anything like what Huawei faced.

There will always been trade imbalances when your country DOESNT MANUFACTURE ANYTHING. China has the ability to supply low cost goods that European and USA companies cannot and the population needs these items.

To try to bring up "memories" what China did on tariffs back when they join WTO in 2001 as justification is ridiculous. That's because China enjoys developing country status then at the time. Why not complain then but now, 23 years later ?
