i actually (kind of) did that, i built lvl10 forts and a humongous heavy tank division with dozer blades, howitzers and grand battleplan
if germans attacked they couldn't do shit because I had absurd amounts of entrenchment, which paired with the howitzers gave thousands of soft attack, so i just sat there and waited until the allies did everything else

@@AldrahillNew challenge, Navy ONLY Germany, Naval bombers and Fighters are allowed, no support, no armour, only division with 10 infantry width, I bet you won't see this comment tho
I just got done with "the sacred war" as the soviets i thought it would be funny to have a 45 million man army and i looked up and realized it was the year 1966...😬

Remember that you can see exact casualties from battles by clicking on the paper icon next to "Soviet Front 1". Since all those 80 German divisions were all neatly trapped in a 1 tile pocket, the battle that took place there would have shown the casualties very accurately. No need to look at the entire war screen and make hazy guesses :)

@@Aldrahillit makes getting the pocket perfect super enticing. I hate it when I close things too early and accidentally overrun a few divisions.
Just build a Interwar Light Tank with a machine gun as the main armament, no support weapons and the cheapest armour/engine/tracks. Then you’ll be fine

Bro do you not know what a joke is? Or do you just not get the joke because you're a newer player or you've never actually played the game like me?
(Context to understand joke: Back in Early HOI4 if you had one tank battalion in any division, it would always be classified as a tank division and all buffs to Armor like Panzer General would always be applied to your entire division instead of just the tanks in your division like HOI4 nowadays.).
Id suggest putting fuel tanks on your support armor, it gives a flat 500 extra fuel for your division

SPG Space marine Italy! Play Italy and rush the 'Self Propelled Guns' focus and ONLY use the SPG/TD/SPAA granted by that focus to augment your infantry!
Tankettes before the focus are allowed!
13:12 u can put a check mark on auto update (the box for the check mark is a bit on the left from the army exp amount icon in the tank designer) thus , each time u research better radio/gun there will be a free design of the tank with upgraded radio/gun (u wasted 7 exp on radio 3 , while ur doctrine costs 110 army exp so min maxing is crucial)

@@Aldrahill If you need any help, i can provide that since im a finn and can probably find some finnish sources that could be useful.
You could rush the Improved tank chassie and use mediums only. Med tanks need 50 tanks per battalion vs 60 for the lights and you have better upgrade options for the guns on med tanks. Also Grand Battleplan gives you even more defence and entrenchment.
Good point! Though in doctrines, defense wasn’t the key, but organisation, and mobile warfare fixes a lot of flat org to tanks

@@Aldrahill Fallout? 3 and NV are the best. OWB? Arguably top 3 HOI4 mod. It’s a total conversion.

I tried it out and it’s super easy .P it’s just how most people play hoi! Just need to make lots of small battle plans and it’s fine
Howd you design the tank with a radio at the start? Soviets doesnt start with radio?
The tank designs you start with weirdly get techs that you might not have! Doesn’t make sense - the t-34, for example, gets its cannon even if you don’t have it researched
Ever thought of trying darkest hour a hearth of iron game ? Its a very good hoi 2 style game by fan of said hoi 2 and the best way to test the old hoi gameplay😊

Question, why don't you use the 10x and 5x modes for your production lines? I know their only visual, but I find it really off-putting when it has more than 15 factories but isn't on 10x or 5x mode. I'm so used to seeing it nicely organized from a single button push that my brain can't comprehend when it isn't set to that.

You said adding defence on tanks is useful, but I disagree. Do you know how defence works? This is not meant to be an insult, just a question.
Basically defence reduces the damage your divisions take to their organisation and HP. The way it does however is very specific. Lets assume a 20 width division with 100 soft attack is up against a 20 width division with 200 defence. As there is more defense than there is attack, only 1/10th of the attacks done will damage the division, which btw means 1 attack will hit.
If you have however 300 attack? Normally you would expect 3 attacks to hit, as we have 3 times the damage. However it doesn't work like that. The 200 attack will be negated by the 200 defence and thus 2 attacks will be done, bit the 100 remaining attack will deal 4 times the damage it would normally do, and thus 4 attacks will hit for a total of 6 attacks.
Having more defense than the enemy has attacks does nothing.
Since trucks have high defence and Mechanized I have double the defese of Trucks, you can easily get more defense than the enemy will have attacks, considering you also have hardness and that the AI is horrible at effectively using it's divisions.
Stacking entrenchment is still good, as it increases both attack and defence, but at least against AI, it is better to just build more divisions to fill the combat width, and potentially make bigger divisions, as larger divisions get more entrenchment which results in more defence and attack per combat width.
A very good point, but I was considering the fact that my divisions would be pretty small combat width, and this would likely have much lower defense overall compared to the enemy divisions soft attack due to their low combat width.
