One time, I had a dream where I was in Poland at the start of WWII. My friends and I were running up a hill to a safer part of the town but were cut off by artillery explosions. Then we turned right and ran into a wheat field where a Stuka started bombing us.,

Once i had a dream where my friend and I were in Vietnam (i was only about 10 and I had just finished Forrest Gump for the first time) and we were ambushed so I asked for some air support and CAS came in the form of a Civil-war era cannon with wings like a fucking pegasus on it and it hovered like 10 feet above the VC and started blasting grapeshot into the jungle. Best dream I ever had

To be fair, CAS only and 21 width infantry (9 inf +1 arty) absolutely smack ass in single player. Enjoyed the video, keep it up!
But its so booring. Im so happy it doesnt work in Expert AI. Shame I have to use mods to enjoy the game tho
@@aegeanharrier6648 That's the neat part, you can play it however you want, I played all tanks, all aircraft, mix and match. It's a sandbox game with plenty of mods as well.
Throw on anti-air, arty, and engineer as support company as well. Pretty much my go-to for single player smaller nations, you can pretty much steam roll through south america with that build.
its not really that fun to auto win regardless of what you do is it? thats the good thing about expertai actually challenging poor player decisions for once

Challenge: As Japan, you must destroy everyone's else navy
Does capitulating everyone and stealing their fleets count? Technically the enemies would not have anymore ships
@@whitezombie10 That would count, but I think the challenge would be much more interesting if it was with a Player-Built ships only challenge.
I can see mass assault being the real MVP in this challenge as, while not much, it reduces the combat width of infantry, meaning ten width is six or seven battalions instead of five.

I hope you applied Junkers as the designer in the plane designer itself.
Designers now have two different bonuses, production bonuses, which are applied when the designer is assigned in the equipment production, and design bonuses, which is applied when you assign the designer in the plane/tank design.
For stuff like infantry equipment you have to hit the button that is normally for renaming and apply it through there
... HUH you have to manually enable it when you make the design?! CRAP I DIDNT KNOW THAT
@@Aldrahill yep, Everytime you research a new plane/tank/ship the designer will be empty
Same might go for other equipment like infantry and artillery, where again you have to click the rename to apply the designer.
@@Aldrahillit gets me every time. In the production tab if the image of the equipment doesn't have the designer logo next to it, you miss out on some of the bonuses

Hey! How about autoplan only challenge? Play as any country (preferably UK, as it kinda fits the spirit), choose great battleplan doctrine and push only when the general's/fieldmarshal's order is green (if its yellow or red, you can't push). You cannot micro under any circumstances! However, you can use whatever tricks you have in mind to make the order green (reassign generals, use very localised frontlines, shore bombardment, CAS, and etc.). You have to halt the offensive if the plan changes from green to yellow or red. I don't know whether this is at all possible but I feel like its a pretty cool idea for a video.

Switching from bomb locks to bomb bays was a bit of a bad idea because they have different jobs. This means they won't reinforce with the new planes by default.

@@Aldrahill It's for this reason I tend to commit to either one or the other, or give them both. Usually locks because they're cheaper.

You should have make the CAS to do both close air support and logistical strike. That would have DESTROYED everyone´s supply.
Edit: Also you forgot to research anti-tank to add it to your CAS.

I dont remember the name but when you reseach rocket artillery, it gives you tech for CAS thats actually good you could used that too

So fun fact about the Henschel Hs 129, the plane kept getting up gunned as anti tank became more prevalent, eventually the plane sported a 75mm anti tank gun that could be jettisoned in an emergency, yes a 75mm. As one might expect, the maneuverability of the plane worsened and surprisingly proved quite effective but was produced in such a small number that its effect on the war effort was negligible

1 there is a quick deploy button next to the deploy planes button select the ones you want the they will appear next to it and wen you click it it will auto deploy 1 squadron ctrl+click will deploy 5 and shift+click will deploy 10
2 if you research rocket artillery you can add rocket rails on your CAS and fighters which will not affect agility but will add CAS damage

I have a challange for you. You can only use anti-air tanks and motorized. They must have 55% hardness. Only support companies allowed are anti air and other motorized (and tanks) support companies. No planes. (And no mechs)
That's DEFINITELY doable! 55% hardness just means KICKASS tank divisions,. The support company limit hurts a bit though ;)
You could have been using cas to bomb logistics as well, that would made a huge effort
Here's an interesting challenge. Prevent France from Surrendering as the UK without putting troops in Western Europe (Search University of Minnesota Regions of Western Europe).
Usually good at recognizing accents but this is just impossible lol

If you go dispersed you should not build any air defense, the bonuses from dispersed and air defense does not stack, which means that you should min max either air defense concentrated or no air defense dispersed.
I think your existing wings would have swapped their old planes for the new ones as the got converted. Without you having to delete wings...

Challenge: ww2 but its ww1. play as germany and blitz belgium and luxemburg (and the dutch if you want) and then sit at about where the germans got stopped and dont allow the treaty with the ussr so you have the ww1 front (kinda) in ww2
I found a reddit article with the historical US order of battle for ww2 in hoi4 which had like historical army groups and everything and I think it would be really cool if you played black ice, historical templates and presets, with that order of battle thing I found on reddit to give an extra hard challenge
I think I’ve seen the same article! I believe I used it to help support my previous USA video :) black ice USA would be a special kind of torture though xD

Sometimes clickbaits sometimes doesn't sometimes does bizarre things like saying Air Superiority isn't useful and doesn't even use an Aircraft designer when he's doing planes only. Kind of makes me want to actually watch the clickbait video and see if he goes Anti-tank cannon because "Soft Attack isn't very useful" as well.

Good you remember to use the arms market to flog all the stuff you don't need it's a huge leapfrog for your economy early game. I really do mean HUGE!!! So huge I flog everything my country starts with effectively and just build new.
29:44 every German Luftwaffe member, ever, looking at the 'Duck'. 75mm cannon, very good, the platform, not at all. Almost as fast as the biplanes of WW2, with two engines. The JU-87 G at least had two 37mm cannon with one engine and was still a bit faster than this garbage called Hs-129.
When possible, naval only Switzerland. 🙃

yeah this is pretty much as close to video evidence that cas wins wars. 10 width infantry offensives work just because planes just do so much direct org and strength damage to enemy divisions.

I would suggest you shouldn’t have used the 100% research bonus on dispersed industry but on Production 2 and construction 2

Hey Aldrahill by the way, you could have gone with rocket rails or anti tank cannons in the artillery/rocket artillery sections, they are much better and cheaper. Anti tank cannons are almost always better, in my experience agility doesn’t matter if it has high defense and attack, agility is underutilized currently
As an example, I will build 1940 CAS and then do about 120 cas damage with about 200 planes. Very powerful, just max out air defense and ground attack, nothing else matters

CAS needs special equipment for naval strike--heavy bomb bays.
While this did work, I would like to remind you that when you have no escort fighters and the enemy puts up interception fighters you will get a "friendly bombers interrupted" malus as well as a mission efficiency malus. If you had sufficient support fighters you likely would have had SIGNIFICANTLY more strength and org damage output. Also you missed the best CAS weapon which is unlocked through the anti-tank tech. Also there's a typo in the video description where you say "Just how could is CAS" instead of "Just how good is CAS".
You are totally right! A ton of my planes kept getting grounded, and I totally ignored that tech xD and food catch, I’ve changed that in the description now
I’d love to see you try to do some historical division stuff in mods like kaiserreich. See how to apply maybe some theoretical divisional designs that weren’t put into practice and using the mods presets. It could be very fub

@ill At minute 20:16 you can see that you have 11,500 CAS.
If you divide the number by 3 you get the enemy combat width that you can cover.
If the enemy has an average division combat width of 20, then you can fight 191 divisions from the air at the same time.
In the tool tip (20:16) you can see that 213 of 213 CAS support the battle.
From that point on, one can assume that the airsupport combatwidth was full.
Now it would have been better to build expensive CAS with more ground attack.
Whether you have 20,000 or 40,000 CAS makes no difference because the enemy doesn't have enough divisions in combat
Anything that goes beyond air support combat width must attack logistics
Motorized and mechanized only. No air, no support companies, (I will allow motorized fire support battalions tho).

I was really used to the no step back dlc planes where I couls stack them as 2k and just do like 200 cas damage. And when I saw that in these recent expansions i got like 18 I thought it wasn't worth it. Untill last night I was playing as denmark invading italy(obviously) and with all of my efforts and tanks and anti air, and also italy did had nothing excpet its airforce and I could not move a tile. Italy was doing only 18 cas damage And I xouldnt get through with almost 1k soft attack and 400 breakthrough. So I guess it says it all. "Cas is King"

How about making an infantry division where there is one infantry and the rest is artillery, and a tank division with just one tank and the rest are anti tank guns? Should be doable right?

RECOMMENDATION: WW2 GERMANY WITH EITHER 1936 OR 1939 *SRART ONLY* DIVISIONS/AIRFORCE/NAVY (BUT RESEARCH AND REDESIGNING/RE-EQUIPPING THE MILITARY WITH NEWER STUFF ARE ALLOWED)
So basically you'd just use the Starting Divisions/Airplanes/Vessles but can reequip or refit them,but can't replace them with more or newer divisions,etc. the exception being giving them just upgrades through the research...
So what do you say?

Also would recommend if you would like the extra suffering on top...just using the starting divisions,numbers of navy vessles and planes without replacing ot reinfircing them and without editing them could be a lot harder but you could try someday if you'd like😂

Challenger idea for you. can you win ww2 only with any nations starting army, air force and navy. And for extra challenge no equipment replacement for losses but that might make it impossible.
Hah just starting divisions and equipment? That’s definitely doable! :D have to be able to replace though, otherwise they’d all just die by 1940 :P
I tried playing Black Ice a couple of times, I don't really understand how the divisions are even supposed to function in that one. No matter how good I make them, the AI melts them anyway in any battles.

@@Aldrahill I have a feel that the AI is either cheating, or I just have zero idea of how the stats function on BICE. Focusing on researching doctrines seems to be your no.1 priority though.
can you beat the germans as the Soviets but the only division you can make is a 2 width infantry (or lower)? taking Mass Assault to the extreme
