I think I can speak for most of us in saying we have absolutely no pity for car dealers. They made their bed. Sleep in it…without any government bail outs.
Yep, couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of folks.
Oh, don't worry, they'll be getting hooked up with all kinds of bailouts.
Thanks in advance, keep paying taxes.
Used car dealers are even worse right now.
Hear, hear!
You have zero understanding of what got us to this point. Has nothing to do with dealers. We don’t make the market we just live in it
Normality has gone and passed. We now live in a delusional world.
insane vehicle prices, people misgendering themselves, illegals being let in by the millions, delusional world 100%
Normalcy Bias is WHY we cant get out of the Woke-Fascist rut we were forced into.
I hate to say this, but you talked me out of buying a vehicle I really didn’t need. Best advice I’ve ever had. Thank you much.
Here’s a good quote.
When you re young, you care so much what others think of you.
When you get older, you care less what others think of you.
And when you are old, you realize no one was ever thinking of you at all.
I'm still driving the same new car I bought 15 years ago.
Me too

@@markm0000 VERY true!
Ill keep fixing my turds till the engines explode. Then Ill replace the engines. These prices are stupid and anyone buying is stupid as well.
no stupid if they can afford them.
buying an overpriced car is stupid even if you can afford it.
Depends. I think the best buys out there are Audi A3 and Golf Rs maybe 2014 f150 raptors @$32k
Correct
We have 4 vehicles at my house, '90, '99, '2000, '06 lol two diesel (no DEF, DPF) & two gas. 3 of them are manual transmission. So far that has been working out. No $2000 headlights
The thing I can't believe is, everyone knows people are broke dealer lots are full, interest rates are high and yet new car dealers refuse to negotiate.
Overall tho car sales are still strong. That's crazy!
@iknewFrankie What data are you referencing?
All the migrants doing uber and door dash in new cars and also there’s renting cars now on third app called turo (its like airbnb for cars now)
@@FrankyRedEyes Yeah fleet sales. Anybody buying cars at this point are about to get stroked by everyone.
I work at a Hyundai dealership. Selling the heck out of cars every month. Waiting for tax time to start tearing it up again.
Holy cow, my co-worker is in a panic. She just got a new 80k Ford Expedition, and her husband got a new F150 last year. Their insurance jumped from $300 to over $700, and they've never had an accident. Talk about buyers' remorse.
Hopefully they are doing a lot of looking around . Ridiculous right now in the current market to pay that much for 2 losing assets. Even if cash is way, too much risk
Yep. Went from $178 a month with a 2018 Chrylser Pacifica and my 2020 Ram 1500 to trading the minivan for a new Wagoneer and our premium went up to $354 a MONTH. Because "inflation". 🙄
yikes, who's the insurance company?
For a disposable item.
That's just called stupidity. Buy well within your means, prices always go up. If they can they should sell, and buy something reasonable.
I like this new way of editing. You show the car in lot and then immediately show it being bid on so we remember. Appreciated.
Agreed. I used to have to take notes to keep up. This is much better. However, I think he may be showing fewer cars. He could show a few more without going over them too closely just so we have more data, and that would work well, too.
The dealership selling that jeep is out of their mind.
It probably has a bad transmission
I think it’s odd that wranglers don’t depreciate much if they’re pretty much the Mustang of trucks. It’s always teens and midlife Crisis men who get these just to fuck them up.
@@abmtz8537 Here in Maryland, its mostly women who have wranglers
@@jmmywyf4lyf yeah and here in Texas women can go for almost a year without getting their oil changed lol
@@abmtz8537men here drive trucks and v8 cars. Women tend to like jeeps.
2017 Hyundai with 150K? That car is all used up and is just waiting to blow the motor on the new owner.
Experienced persons in the car business know that miles are irrelevant. It's all about condition and maintenance. Why are people in the 3rd world driving 80s/90s/00s cars with over 500k mileage? 🤔
Hyundai and kia have several GDI engines ,they all drink oil then fail
Or stolen and rammed thru a store window
@@jetnandez946That's an interesting concept, and completely incorrect.
If miles are irrelevent, then why do vehicles track milage and why are warranties milage based?
Because everything everywhere wears out through use.
Hyundai and kia are junk motors and are in fact in class action law suit for their junk engines.
This 'lot to line' format adds continuity to your videos> A+
I agree, much better flow of edit, I never thought of it before but it makes a lot of sense, keeps the details of the car fresh in mind
The dealer's trouble was caused by their parasitic corporate greed!
Yep I don't feel sorry for them in any way.

I don’t know about tax times for everyone else, but for the 1st time in 37 years of being taxed I had to pay in 1700.0 and made 30k less this year, so good luck.
Wait until 2025 when the Trump tax deal expires and your taxes jump 15%.
@@briancreegan827Taxes haven't really been altered under Biden for the most part, outside of an increase in corporate tax. Ironically it's the opposite of what you say, the Trump "tax cuts," which according to economists 80% benefited the wealthy. The minor tax cuts for those making less than $75k were INTENTIONALLY made to be phased out in Trumps 2019 tax bill.

Super glad I am safe from the car market right now. What a scam nightmare.
True, I lucked out by having car issues in 2019 and had/chose to buy new cars for me and wife. Don't need anything for at least 5 more years.
Me also, no car payments a huge blessing ,at my age of 61 I am done with car loans, and the build quality is way sub-par, and overpriced
I saw the dealer that owned the blue Jeep. He was pissed he could not get 16,000 dollars for that Jeep. But like you have said. It will now be at that auction and be a no sale.
If he paid to get it detailed he could have got his 16
And if a customer offered him 16k for it he would turn them down.
Im in the market for a used car Here in the tri state area NY NJ Conn the dealer reviews are frightening what they do to customers... adding 3K worth of fees to the car is making people stay away. People just dont have the time or patience with the world today to deal with such nonsense.....I dont understand how they claim a 6yo Yukon denali with 158K miles is low miles? its silly.
I'm in the NY/NJ/CT area, still looking for a 2013 Silverado ext. cab. I'm even willing to travel for the right price, but every one that I've seen has been priced too high. 😔
@@greenlantern9453how much would you like to spend and what mileage?
@@greenlantern9453 Yes...The part no one really talks about is the reality is car manufacturers believe the life of a car is when the warranty runs out.......they dont give a crap about the used car buyer........and the costs of repair. I had a friend buy a QX80 with 85K miles.. Infinity replaced the timing chain at 3K dollars Cracked exhaust manifold and new catalytic converter.. busted Air bag suspension thousands of dollars more.
I just bought a car with 697,000 miles.
@@greenlantern9453 Try looking outside the rust belt if you haven't already. Trucks rust out up north and command a premium. But truck prices in general are high because new trucks are so expensive-so everyone with a reasonably clean 10-20 year old truck thinks it's worth a mint.
Still waiting for prices to drop here in Texas. Every dealer is loaded with inventory but every sales person says no negotiations are possible because sales happen so fast they can’t keep inventory in stock!
@jackmehoff-iq5he Sales people lie.
Ain't that crazy?😂
Same here in NC
Salesman lies
You know when a salesman is lying. When their lips are moving.
This is wilder than a herd of car salesman on a sugar rush! So many dealers, so many questionable choices... that blue Jeep needs its own dating profile, and who knew tax season meant 'dumping season' for dealerships? This is pure entertainment, keep it coming!
I can find a high mileage 90s Cherokee and have a mechanic rebuild the engine and trans for about $6000. Thats way less than one of these suv's. And they're not that reliable. Im sorry. I just won't pay that much for newer vehicles. The allure of a new car faded for me in 2019.
$6k repair on a new car might get you a headlight with having to remove half the front end. 😂
I’ve bought 6 trucks (1990’s-1999) in the last two years; spent about 20K in cash on them and have 6 good running trucks that aren’t costing me much. Can’t even touch one new truck for that.
In what planet is an elantra with 153k miles worth 4800. Dealers are doing this to themselves.
When 4,800 dollars in today's "money" buys you $2,400 of goods in 2019 dollars. The purchasing power of money has been halved in a little over 5 years. Their next move is to halve your assets, so your 401k will go from $250K today to $125K in 3 years. They will leave you with just enough to have the "hopes and dreams" discussed in the video. It's all a part of a greater master plan.
@@brentlorrilliere6057 Who is they?
@@stephenpetersen354 Long story short, "they" are, the FED, many unelected bureaucrat's, (especially in the State department) the WEF, NEA, executives at investments firms, (most publicly traded companies, are majority "owned" by investment firms through pension/401k money) the OSF, UN, EU, the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, etc.
"they will leave you with just enough... It's all a part of a greater master plan" is a bit off, he is making it sound more precisely tuned than is possible. In some senses, corruption is not that complicated. For example, inflation helps people who have more debt, and more assets, while hurting everyone else. (largest debt holders being government, and large business). After we left the gold standard, (started printing money/causing inflation) GDP, and the wealth of those who are relatively rich, have continued to go up, while compensation to the average worker has almost flatlined. It's actually hilarious, and sad, that people who want to fight "inequality" are voting for more spending/inflation. They are literally begging rich people to take more of their money, while thinking they are "sticking it to the man".
Other corruption includes laws and regulations that are meant to drive small business out of the market, give unfair advantages to cronies etc. There is also the form of corruption, in which politicians and bureaucrats start to look out for their own interests, even without any business involvement. For example, trying to keep property values high to keep property taxes flowing in, which is one reason housing in the US is so, obscenely, expensive. Or another example, just voting for more spending, to stay in office.
Well, there is also an ideology, or a collection of religious denominations/cult denominations, that helps to explain what the bad guys do. If you have the time and interest, listen to the "New Discourses" podcast, in which full academic essay's, and portions of relevant books, have been read, by someone who has taken the time to read these through, many times.
Prices on used cars might be coming down a bit from last year but the reasonable priced vehicles all seem to have way too many miles.
I'm in the 10k-15k price range and almost everything I see has over 100k miles.😂😂
I happened to glance at used grand Cherokee's....Where the hell are these people driving? they all have like over 100K on them.
@@dojocho1894 Either long work commutes or uber. Lots of people drive for Uber or Ubereats.
They’re likely using them for Uber or Doordash deliveries.
Bring it on. I ain’t buying a car until the dealers are begging me to. Over a year ago, I had a sales person laugh at me when I said that I don’t buy cars at or above MSRP. He said I may never be buying a new car again. So I gave him my number and said to call me when this new pick up has a $20,000 haircut off sticker price. He’ll be calling…assuming he isn’t let go when the dealership hits extreme hard times.
Well you won’t be getting one then
@@lordrayden3045 I can live with that
Dealer overflow lots here in michigan are overflowing
The cost of a new or relatively new car is an outrage. My husband is a car mechanic and has been for decades. He knows them all, inside and out. He said not a one of them is worth even a small fraction of what they cost. People are going into horrible debt just to have a car to drive. We both proudly drive very old cars that we paid cash for even though we can afford new cars. However, my husband is able to keep them in running order. Not an option for many. But what people do need to change is stop buying cars for vanity so that you’ll look slick to your friends and neighbors. It’s a trap.
V6 Rav 4 is almost a collectors item. They haul ass in a relative sense. TIL - the RAV4 V6 model had the fastest 0-60 time (~6.5s) of all Toyota's from 2006-2013.
That 3.5 L is strong
To change things up a little, ask for permission from your car buyers to add a little interview on their experience, what they're finding, what is driving them, their take on the direction of the market.
I remember getting a 50k mile 95 celica in around 2010. Cost me 2 thousand and I felt like I was paying so much money for me at the time (fresh out of college ). Can’t find a deal like that anymore.
That was then, this is now.
ive noticed people get caught in bad spending cycles that keep them in debt as cycle continues on.almost like a self induced punishment.
Watching your videos has made me hold off on putting myself back in debt....thank you for saving me financially!!! Ill be driving my paid off beater I should be riding my bike to and from work anyways since its only 7 miles round trip..
Sometimes routes you might choose for your bike are very dangerous. Drivers dont see anything else unless its a car. However, your reasoning is quite logical, and we may see more bike riders during this depression as the car market (and insurance/maintenance is getting out of hand). 😢
Driving home yesterday I paid attention to all the cheap car lots on the way home. All of them were overflowing with cars.
Oh man prices ares still fucked. I miss the good old days when you can get awesome reliable cars for dirt cheap
Had me laughing through the whole video. The “hopes and dreams” 😂
Thanks for putting the graphic of the prices! Always wish you would do this!

Im so glad Ididn't think an expensive car was necessary.
A house is.
As long as a vehicle was safe, clean and paid for I didn't care what it was.
It gets me back and forth.
I pay $40/mo. for liability on a 24 year old car. It runs and the air conditioner works.
I'm good to go.
You might want to check with a independent insurance agent, I pay $31 a month for my 2002 4runner and it's full coverage with AAA towing coverage.
Hope this helps 😊
Out of HS got a tow job hauling cars from auction to dealer and back to auction. Amazing little world this auction is.
I would pay $5k for that Rav4. Im surprised the bidding didn't go higher.
A customer that would drive the car would jump on it. Dealers feel they deserve to double the price on a car like that (at a minimum) before selling to you so that is why it didn't sell.
I have bought about 30 cars over the years ( all used) , about half from dealers, half from private owners, one repo at an auction. I always sell them myself when I’m done. Your videos are really enjoyable and well done. The whole tax time thing I was not aware of.
I liked the ad where you cared about people. You are a great resource for the people.
Still not selling anything. Already slashed prices and still no bites :/ here in California haven’t seen any tax money
It really is sad but these dealers that were selling cars new cars for above msrp. Or used cars they got at auction knowing full well they were trash and that people were gonna buy it with their tax check and it would get repo in a few months so they could make twice the money. I myself sold cars for the Audi Benz VW dealer here near me. I'm an Audi brand specialist and Benz and vw certified. I love cars and now I do detailing and small repairs. Mostly now i do barn find repairs and details and flips. I have zero sadness for shady salesmen and dealers. They screwed people and are facing the consequences. Its also car makers fault for making cars nobody can work on that are designed to break in 5 years and be destroyed. This is why I have a very strong opinion on what I'd buy or not buy. It also saddens me that so many good cars no longer are producing gas or diesel engines and are goin to electric. Cadillac benz Audi VW genesis etc.
Tony Seba can provide the economics behind the electric push. Basically, as battery costs keep dropping, it’ll get cheaper to build an EV; gas/diesel cars won’t be able to compete. Besides, EV’s move the “tailpipe” emissions to more rural areas, improving health outcomes for populated areas. That’s the biggest and best reason to go electric. There’s so much data out about how air pollution is terrible for human quality and quantity of life.
Much better format seeing the cars on the block we can see what the cars make for sure please continue this way thanks

It amazes me seeing that dealers are paying that much for worn out, dirty, old vehicles. I can't imagine what they're having to charge to make a profit on them. Maybe I'm just out of touch, but I wouldn't have paid for any of those vehicles shown what they went for at auction.
Trust me , the dumb crowd doesn't care about price, all they care about is if you are willing to finance them or not.
