Demonstration of the Schumacher SC1303 Battery Charger.
Purchased at Advance Auto parts.
The last two years I had to purchase a new battery for my riding mower. This charger will help maintain the batteries life.

Good video, thanks. The safety manual makes it seem like you have to wear a bomb suit to use one of these. lol now I can use mine without worrying I'll blow up.

Last i understood agm is for glass/gel acid sealed batteries? Your battery looks like an acid vented battery, agm does not mean for mower batteries?? Sealed batteries are nice cause they dont have to be upright, where as a vented acid battery has to and uses standard charge not agm? Is there something new out like a vented agm mower battery i don't know about??
What's the difference between the SC1303 model and the SC1358 model they both look the same? Can you leave them plugged in and not worry about them if you're not around? Also are these 10 amp ones better than the 6 amp or does it just mean they are hotter as in Faster charging?

I just use it for a lawn mower battery, I don’t like to leave it plugged in. Once it gets to maintaining I unplug it.
@@MrStan913 I'm just wondering why mine says model Sc1358 and looks exactly like the one in your video but yours is a Sc1303 model number. I wonder if they're actually different.

@@MrStan913 I went to check my battery on my other car, and my new charger was hot. It was connected to the car battery for maybe 6 hours. Do they seem to do that?
I use it for my lawn mower battery and its not connected to the mower. It never felt hot.

The manual says when charging OUTSIDE of the vehicle to use a negative extension and plug the SC13013 negative clip to that, not directly to the post.
They tell you to do that to eliminate any chance of sparking, that could cause an explosion. The hydrogen gas that's produced when charging a battery could be very dangerous, if not careful.
Do I have to have the charger plug plugged into wall,can I use this on the road without a wall outlet
Yes it has to be plugged into a wall outlet. It's just used to charge and maintain the battery.

I just brought One has not been run this sent last year the battery is completely dead it has been on for 1 hour now how long do you think I need to charge it up

You can charge the battery while it's in the car.
Just disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery before charging. No need to remove the battery from the vehicle.
It's best not to unplug a device by pulling the power cord by the cord itself.
