  • Kelly Slater has always been excited about board design and performance, and his signature fins have been a staple of the surf industry for over a decade. Slater’s K2.1 fin set the standard for maneuverable, high-performance, off-the-top surfing, while the K3 was slightly deeper and had less base, as well a smaller, more raked tip, which was ideal for line-up walls and big, arcing turns, such as what Slater does at spots like J-Bay.
Now Kelly Slater has combined the templates of the K2.1 and K3 to create the perfect all-round fin set that can be used on any type of board and in any conditions, from pumping waves to small, groveler conditions. The new #Endorfins from ‪@firewiresurfboards‬ super responsive and lightweight (they even float!), with a foam core and carbon lay-up that tapers to the tip, providing added flex and snap through turns.
Twin + 2 Endorfin set now available at Hawaiian South Shore

i feel like it should be called the twin plus 1.5. ive been riding kellys red nubsters for years. they stabilise and add grip to quads.

Anyone running the endrofin large quads on the Mid6 or have insight as to how they would go!?? Curious how they go as I'm trying to purchase a mid6 and the endorfins so I can use them on my futures boards. Thanks for the insight!

I haven't heard of anyone using the Endorfins for the Mid6 either.
From what I know, Harley primarily use his Quads and occasionally plays around with the Power Twins on smaller days - and he's actually the guy who designed the Power Twins.
I know a lot of people use Reactors for bigger days it makes it easier to maneuver a board with a pin.
Given that the Endorfins are more upright it might work.
The side fins are similar to Kelly's old K2.1 fins, they could be a good choice.
However, I'm not sure how the rear quads would handle.
It would be interesting to find out if anyone has tried using the Quad Endorfins on the Mid6.
We've been recommending either the Reactors or Performer quads.
For FCS the only fins that are quad set are the Performers.
I think Futures recently released a Quad only set and it's like the performer template.

Got any tips on removing the nubster?

    • @hawaiiansouthshore
      @hawaiiansouthshore  9 месяцев назад

haha I've had that issue too...I place a towel around the fin then use vice grips. It doesn't damage the fin.
What I usually do before I put the fin into the box is run surfboard wax them both sides of the base.
It's been a few times I forgot and I had to use the vice grip trip but it works perfect. - David

@@hawaiiansouthshore word, I was trying that earlier today but kept hearing a cracking sound so I never got it tight enough. I hit it with some WD-40 so hopefully it lubes it a bit and I’ll try again tomorrow
