    Lyrics:
    When you're lost in the rain in Juarez
    And it's Eastertime too
    And your gravity fails
    And negativity don't pull you through
    Don't put on any airs
    When you're down on Rue Morgue Avenue
    They got some hungry women there
    And they really make a mess outa you.

    not only has dylan written over 100 great songs but he has 3 or so versions of each. that is why i never get sick of listening to dylan. plus his words blow me away.

      "We always feel this way we just tell it from a different point of view." And as an artist Dylan has so many points of view. When you see him live you are hearing different interpretations of his own songs.

      I had a white album titled "Motorcycle" which was beyond awesome, same time period with the Band...but those songs were almost beyond description. mythic, mystical, transcendent...Wheels on Fire, Tears of Rage, Mrs. Henry, Tiny Montgomery, Million Dollar Bash, etc etc...I gave it a friend. I gave him my copy of the Panchatantra too...but he did a lot of good things for me too.

    Trying to choose my ten favorite Dylan songs is futile...but this is a worthy choice. They're still talking about Shakespeare 500 years later and 500 years from now they'll be talking about Dylan. The most monumental musical giant of the twentieth century.

      Yup!
      Dylan was " Every Great "
      Before him.
      Kerouac, James Dean, Rimbaud, Shakespeare,
      TS. Elliott, Paul Verlaine, Picasso etc.etc.etc.

      most?.... too subjective. elvis' belting of heartbreak hotel alone break entire walls. hank williams sr bringing ones ear to the center of heartland yearn opened an emotional window in guys like cash & mr zimmerman... hendrix's lightening meets sky pushed rock past the sound barrier. & it goes on.... let us just say, he rewrote the rules & he did it w/ quite the aplomb.... dylan to me was the mark twain meets chaplin.

      Agree, it's almost impossible to choose only 10! My saturday night Dylan selection is very different from my sunday. As bono says "he's got you from cradle to grave" a different song for each mood and age. He's magnificent!!

    • @OliviaDI
      @OliviaDI 4 года назад +3

      I agree that 500 years from now kids will be dying to learn how to play his lyrics and his guitar tunes. He will be put in the inspirational classical music category! He should be now. I say this as a classical inspirational poet that has been Published.

    • @kelvinkloud
      @kelvinkloud 4 года назад +4

      @@OliviaDI he is very gifted lyrically. the most prolific ever in music. his best works stand up to poets that are well known and do that for a living.... id give the misunderstood jim morrison a shout out too. no one in music ever understood blake better. he applied that construct to a wide range epic scape vision that was ground breaking in music when he hit it right. he was far less consistent then dylan, but a true visionary in his own right.

    As a youth in Iowa, I was teased for liking Dylan. When I went to college and heard kids play Dylan, I felt vindicated. The first time I saw him in concert, I realized the generational impact he has in society. Dylan is to poetry what Shakespeare is to the stage. If more people took the time to enjoy the poetry of Dylan, what a better world this would be. By the way, my favorite Dylan song is "I And I " from album "Infidels," my all-time favorite Dylan album.

    Blessed to have found Mr. Zimmerman in my youth, back late 60's, early 70's !
    Funny thing happened after listening to his music, I accidentally discovered you have to live it, before you understand it !
    When it smack's you in the Face, then settles in your Soul !
    Kinda crazy I know !

      Il sound dell'armonia forse mi è sempre piaciuto credo, per via dell'epoca del Far West poi Little Walter dopo Sonny Boy Williamson e infine Dylan, la goccia che fece traboccare il vaso, in Mr Tambourine man nel 1966 il live durante il world tour, un esempio è il bootleg dei concerti del 1966, quel assolo diciamo mi stregò e non solo con le parole, penso che questo sia stato la causa della mia voglia di comprare un'armonica diatonica.
