- Aerith says "Mine"! to Cloud. Aerith with some lowkey evil moves; she hugs Cloud while saying Mine to Tifa. Aerith and Tifa both hug Cloud in Chapter 11 - Haunted. Before this, Tifa and Aerith seem to get along just fine especially in the sewer system in Chapter 10.
Aerith is the last of the Cetra, an ancient race with powerful magical abilities, and so the Shinra Electric Power Company hunts her throughout her life, seeking to exploit her powers. She meets Cloud Strife in Midgar, and the two become close, leading her to join his quest to fight Shinra and hunt down Sephiroth. Aerith is upbeat, carefree and joyful, being flirtatious towards Cloud and also compassionate towards others.
Aerith wields staves in battle, and is in the back row by default, as she primarily uses magic from equipped Materia in battle. Her Limit abilities are entirely defensive, either providing restorative abilities, healing other party members, or granting them positive status enhancements.

Aerith wins it for me decisively. She's a perfect 10 looks wise. Courageous, kind, flirty & sweet. She helps at the orphanage. She's a magic powerhouse. She is incredibly rare as the last of the Cetra and she seems like she'd just be fun to hang out with.
Tifa is great too. She is also kind and beautiful. She is a physical powerhouse and cares about the planet.

Tifa can be those things but does not understand Cloud. She also is still kinda the same girl she was when they were kids not really noticing Cloud or trying to hang out with him. @@ramen4laifu33 Aerith is really good with kids too and helps out the orphanage and gets medicinal herbs for the doc. Helps around town just like Tifa. Aerith tries to bring joy to strangers by giving away flowers. She is very intuitive to other people's feelings. She can also fight but she's more of a mage. She is also a "mother" figure.
I guess I'm having a hard time understanding your point when the two aren't very different except for personality.

Aerith is honest and brave when it comes to her feelings. And I think Cloud feels safe enough to express himself with Aerith because of that reason her bravery.
If you notice in the OG and in the remake Cloud is still kinda douchy towards Tifa and the group. After he meets Aerith he starts to change in a softer way. He isn't putting up a guard with Aerith because he doesn't feel left out the way Tifa kinda makes him feel since they were kids.

Tifa was a popular kid, cloud was the one who feels superior to her friends. Hence the superiority complex. Even her friends ask "you think cloud wants to come in ?" no, she isn't rude to him as a kid either, she was depress losing her mother. In the remake it is shown that she tried to talk to cloud as a kid. "feel left out" tifa opens up to him, vice versa. The scene where barret comfort tifa, cloud wanted to comfort her as well but doesn't know how. He's always been that awkward, even when he's awkward tifa tends to stay by his side. Cloud is no way a douche to tifa in the remake. What are you on?

I said Cloud is douchy in the beginning of the OG and remake. In the OG he makes random cat calling like comments to Tifa. In the remake you can make him be the same way but it's the choices you make.
Tifa didn't really care about Cloud until all of her stupid friends left town.
Ok you're right Cloud is himself but is he really? He didn't hang out with Tifa much to really be himself. The only time he did was at the water tower. It's the same in the OG and Remake. BUT in the OG Tifa mostly followed her friends lead. And in the Remake she does the same by hanging out with Avalanche and tells Cloud she has to be there even though she hadn't caught up with Cloud in a long time. Her friends are more important.

@@kiney4473 I'll concede game length, but not quality of the time spent. Now to be absolutely fair, I only finished the vanilla game, some post game, and played (and payed) for multiplayer. While I think XV is far more quintessential FF, it's big, it's open, and it's grindy. FF7R I feel respects my time (even if it won't respect my wallet). I immediately liked the characters, narrative, and gameplay (being able to switch characters at launch helped a lot). I spent a lot of time and effort on FFXV, only to like Noctis (at least the way he fights), Chocobos, the combat (enough to pay for Multiplayer), the hot silver haired chick, and the great food graphics. To be fair, I was anticipating XV much longer than 7R, so admittedly all this game had to do is not disappoint me.

1:20 she actually says "we have a reliable bodyguard" in japanese, there's a lot of mistranlations in the game, i didn't knew why a lot of people thought Aerith as annoying and thirsty in the original until i played in english, the translation is a mess in the remake Cloud never says Tifa, instead he says hey in a very cold way while in japanese he always call her by her name in a very gentle way, it's like the translation were made by amateurs and not the company themselves

It isn't mistranslations. It's a localization. Because it isn't just lines here and there, entire scenes and contexts end up being a bit different based on which language the game is in. It isn't like where in the original Aerith had her named changed to Aeris because the translator made a mistake.These were intentional decisions made by the people writing the English version of the script.
@@Xynth22 adding non existent words and changing the character traits is a bad localization imo, i watched some let's play and often see people misjudging Aerith character because of this localization and adding things that is not in the original is a bad way to do their jobs imo, there's even some theories that people are making based on this localization when in reality the original is different leading to a completelly differente theory
@@blz267 If it was going to be a 1:1 copy of the original, that would be a translation, not a localization. A localization however is meant to be a bit different because it is dealing with a different audience, language, and voice actors, which can effect how the story is told anyway even if they try to translate it perfectly.
This is whole idea is also why sub vs dub debates always spring up with various anime and such since even trying to translate it well ends up making the dubs awkward due to subtext being lost in translation or voice actors not fitting their character's personality properly.
FF7 Remake avoided this by making it a localization rather than simply a translation, and imo it was a good thing. Instead they just retold the story in English, and other languages, and in the English version, Aerith is more sassy and mischievous than her Japanese counterpart.
@@Xynth22 i don't mind when they change things as long don't deviate too much from the original, but when they start to adding things that change the character personality than for me its not a localization anymore it's a fancfiction, you can see how much they changed Cloud an Aerith personality in the original just looking at the most important/loved FF polls, most people in US hate Cloud/Aerith and prefer Zach/Tifa while in Japan is the opposite, but i guess is like people say ignorance is a bliss
