i lived in vero for 30 years and i was there when this happened. ron forgot to mention that he bought probably a dozen pizza's that was delivered to the jail booking department. lmao.
A lady who works there mentioned it in a comment above. Ron isn't big on blowing his own horn unless it adds to the story/joke.

At the time this happened I worked in the Indian River Clerk's Office as a courtroom clerk in the Misdemeanor section. Imagine my surprise to see Ron White on the arraignments docket. LOL He never came to court because he didn't have to, but word around the street is that he was fantastic in lockup. He supposedly bought pizza for everyone at the station. That's what I heard. Pretty cool if it's true. Most people would be so aggravated they wouldn't show such grace. A+ for celebrity-public interactions.
PS. The two misdemeanor judges who I worked for would have dressed down the officers for that much weed. Trust me. The judges get pissed when they have to deal with that nonsense. I wish you'd have fought it. I'm pretty sure they'd have dropped for that amount.

He had somewhere that he was contractually obliged to be so he just paid his bail cash and paid his fine. Not only did he send Pizza to the VBPD he also sent it to the county jail. VBPD refused the delivery, but the jail didn't, that is if I remember correctly.

If I were caught with a gram and a bag full of legal cash while traveling they'd put me in jail and confiscate my cash never to be seen again unless I were willing to pay thousands in legal fees to get it back. That's the way they roll these days unless you're famous. Nothing against Ron White.

Ha.. saw quite a few games in my youth at Dodgertown. It was one of the few places you could jump the fence (because it was so huge) and walk right up to watch a game. There was no outfield fence at the time so everything was open. You could actually talk to the players in the bullpen down the foul lines.

Ron seems like such a good dude. I been trying to do Ayahuasca for a while now... His segments have me refocused to start saving up and make that happen. I figure 7 k round trip all these considered. Obviously not cheap and I won't be going next weekend... But plenty doable.

If the facts are as portrayed and coming from a retired cop, this arrest was ridiculous. Ron white wasn’t flying the plane. Over cannabis. When I was on the job in Texas, where illegal still, I threw away 10 times this amount and let people go on their way. Why? Because the circumstances dictated it and I had more important things to tend to, like violent criminals don’t you know.
Here in Ohio, for a long time now, that’s a ticket.
I get let go or given my weed back in Texas all the time. It's not an issue. As long as you're not carrying weight and it's obvious personal use, you get a pass.
