It is a very healthy matter that reduces cases of harassment and abuse of women. Girls can go to indoor salons designated for women and not in the streets in front of strangers.

Both sides of that war took hundreds of thousands of casualties. In the end, when it became clear that the government we set up was going to collapse, the Afghans fighting for the government gave up, very sensibly, and the Taliban forgave them, very wisely and mercifully.

Don't like it? The people that live there need to rise up, revolt and fight back. No one can do it for them. The war in Afghanistan demonstrated what happens when you fight for people that couldn't/wouldn't fight back themselves. Any outsider trying to intervene will be viewed as an invader, and any gains will be lost as soon as they withdraw. On the other hand, the current war in Ukraine is an example of how these things are handled correctly. The people there have demonstrated a willingness to fight to the end for their freedom and sovereignty, even before we gave them anything. It's unfortunate that these things go on in the world, but there really is little we can do. Also, Afghanistan isn't the only place in the world with terrible human rights. Why intervene there and not other 3rd world nations?

There are no beauty saloons in villages there because people are to poor to even put daily bread on table let alone beauty saloons. These beauty saloons are there in city only, and the taliban have not closed mens saloons. They only shut beauty saloons and there can be several reasons for it.
Maybe some illegal activities were found there or something like that so they thought it was better to close it. They removed the need so they saved the money, that could rather be used on feeding a poor person rather than on nail polish.
I hope you would agree that the later can not be the priority.

Salons were only safe havens for rich women in large Afghan cities. There are no beauty salons in Afghan villages, and even in the cities, women can't afford beauty treatments these days. In most of Afghanistan, life for women hasn't changed since the Taliban took power, except they don't fear for the lives of their loved ones.

A prime example of what fighting for freedom means. The afghan army had like 200k troops against 80k Taliban. They had billions in US weapons, twenty years of training. But what happened? The president and army ran like chickens without firing a shot, they let a bunch of goons in Toyota pick-ups take over their country. Then look at Ukraine, invaded by a country ten times bigger, second best army in the world. But they chose to stay and fight, and are now winning and WILL win their freedom and keep their way of life.
