Julian Assange's situation reminds us all that journalism is no more . The criminals get protected , get book deals , get helped out by the powers that be while the brave journalist willing to put it all on the life / sacrifice for Truth gets locked away , lied about , blackmailed , has multiple assassination attempts on their life ...
Not saying anything new here -- sometimes I just have to remind myself that the border is wide open and the illegals , especially the criminal ones and cartels are rewarded while tax payers are left to fend for themselves or themselves attacked . Their tax dollars are sent to protect borders of even MORE corrupt nations halfway around the world almost as if to rub in the hypocrisy and demoralizations .
If they can get away with all of these countless decades worth of war crimes , funding terror in order to pretend to fight them , dealing narcotics to their own populations , etc .. What _else_ are they getting away with that we will never know about ? Heck would such evil crooked monsters let the people actually vote on _anything_ outside of their control ..?
The sounds of those gunshots at times reminded me of the Las Vegas shooting that still has no believable answers . Lead by the same federal investigator who is handling the fires in Hawaii . . How dark is all of this , exactly ..? It just seems like more than just greed and opportunism -- it seems like deliberate meticulously orchestrated methods to perfectly rob , demoralize and topple a so-called free nation that is supposed to have Representative Government . Do you feel represented lately ?

She went straight from high school, went to a university and then dropped out, joined the Army in September 2005 and chose the expedited route to boot camp. Straight off to Ft. Leonard Wood and then to Ft. Bragg. My senior year, 2005-2006 I was just amazed and scared for her. She told me about having to put down stray animals on the base and treating the K9s for injuries out in the field. She ended up addicted to Ambien after she told the medics she couldn’t sleep and drinking smuggled in whiskey by the national guard guys that were there. Damn, she is tough as fuck. Now she’s a prison guard and has already broken up a few fights and saved a guy from jumping off a mezzanine in the prison to commit suicide. I don’t know how she does it.

I remember hearing about that one of the scout snipers was observing an ISIS militant on a balcony of a residence with an RPG being mounted over his shoulder. He reported it over the radio and he was denied the green light to fire. Just like many more of our Marines there, they were ordered to not do a single thing. To just sit there and take it.
It is this kind of blatant idiotic stuff that people have to deal with. Bureaucracy and politics 100% of the time ruins everything and makes things so much harder and makes people’s jobs so much more difficult. Tragedy could be prevented if the government would stop tying the militaries hands behind its back and loosen the ROE. There is zero reason that our Marines should not be allowed to shoot any military aged male who is armed, all while they know exactly what group of people it is that’s coming for them.

As a former 0311 Infantry of the USMC that shipped out in 2008, let me tell you...
...The claims made by the US Government and High Ranking Officers in regards to any incidents or status updates were not just down played to protect their agenda & narrative, but in a lot of cases were just completely fabricated propaganda. Everything from "why we were there?" To casualties on all sides (US troops, "enemy combatants," and civilians alike), and everything in-between.
... I pre-enlisted at 17 years old and was 18 when I got my EGA from MCRD. Had I been a fully matured adult that knew what was truly going on, I would of NEVER signed my life away to serve such a disgusting, disgraceful, pathetic excuse for a "free country."
... I'm completely saturated with regret and many fellow veterans feel the same way. But trust me and the other regretful veterans when we say that "there is some truly sick psychopathic men in the military" that casually committed atrocities, and laughed about it later like it's a joke. And standing in front of those twisted minds is the Military Officers and US Government covering for them and telling you that "everythings ok," and "that wasn't us, it was the terrorists."
... See now, the thing about Afghanistan versus Iraq for example is that *Afghanistan is mostly made up of small villages in the rural mountains and deserts.* There was no safe hotels/motels for journalist to stay in. So they were not commonly walking around reporting on first-hand accounts like they did in the *cities of Iraq.* Basically this meant that 100% of media coverage was manufactured by one perspective with self-preservation & regard in mind.

      1. You do not have any video of Americans shooting civilians.
      2. Some of the Taliban also carried American weapons. The point is, if you hear what sounds to be an American weapon, it is not 100% certain it was an American pulling the trigger.
      3. Because many of the Taliban did not wear conventional uniforms -- most simply wearing civilian clothes -- when you take the weapon out of their hands, they look like civilians. The point is, some of them might have been in firefights where Americans legitimately defended themselves, but the person's weapon was left behind.
      4. With all of that said, the U.S. military is held to a higher standard. They should analyze the video -- that they
-- like us -- are discovering for the first time.
      5. Oh, by the way, CNN, I did not hear who set off the initial blast, which attributed to more than 130 indescriminate deaths. But that is boring. Who cares about that, right? It is more salacious and will garner more viewers if you can smear the "good cops," dirty-up the "good guys." I mean, the Taliban needs to get on with oppressing women and girls and r-ping boys. Those are facts. That's Afghan culture.

Which administration? It was Trump’s administration who negotiated the withdrawal and imposed a ridiculous timeline. If they had done any serious planning in the months leading up to it, instead of, you know, plotting to overthrow the fucking election, maybe it would’ve gone smoother. By the time Biden’s butt was in the chair the Taliban were already in control of half the country and gaining ground by the day. The only responsible thing left to do was withdraw. Everyday we were in country was another day the war was being needlessly dragged out. It was OVER. 20 years of blood and treasure down the crapper. And everybody knew it. What happened in that airport was the nigh inevitable result of 20 years of hubris and wishful thinking, compounded by greed and jingoistic bloodlust, and even made worse by the chaos on the ground and the fact that you had newbies working the fence.
And while it is undeniable that some Marines that day acted with honor and professionalism under the worst circumstances, it is also clear, from the sound of gunfire in this video and the testimony of Afghan survivors, that some of your guys completely lost their shit and started firing at phantoms. The story of this war in a nutshell: young stupid kids signing up for war practically as old as they are, not understanding a damn thing about it or the part of the world they’re going to. Receiving ridiculous orders (and then carrying said ridiculous orders). They get into a situation that probably requires more finesse than their 10-mile runs and “shoot first” ethos have prepared them for, with the same old predictable results. They go home, apply for disability, and then blame every body in the chain above them, absolving themselves of the orders they followed in the uniforms they put on themselves.
I’m sorry, you may not be the villain in this story, but you also don’t get to play the victim. The only victims were the people outside that bloody wall…bombed, invaded, lied to, extorted, arrested, tortured, jerked around, given false hope, and then finally abandoned, though not before one final bloody nose doled out by this war’s main participants. The last thing they deserve is for their tragedy to become fodder for more of our petty political bullshit. No one outside the US cares; as far as the rest of the world is concerned, we’re ALL complicit.

I get where you're coming from but many Marines in our history have been literal children at 15-17 years old, especially last century. But I think most people in the context of fighting in war see 18-21 year olds as kids still regardless of the amount of training in the Marines and regardless of them technically being adults.
There's a reason Ukraine isn't conscripting 24 year olds and younger, and up until recently weren't even conscripting 25-26 year olds. It's explicitly because they are trying to protect their countries youth for the good of the future of the nation. And with Ukrainians warriors we're not even talking about training they also have experience in actual full scale war with another developed military yet they still see the youth differently than what you're describing.

I'm not exactly a fan of what happened if it did, but at this point I understand what's going on in these Marines' heads. If they killed people, it means they probably survived long enough to meet scrutiny from the American public and the world. Yeah, I'm not saying it's justified... but you look at what happens in war with Taqiyya in that region, and there's no other way. You can't tiptoe around this. I'm not even saying I think it's a Muslim issue or making generalities beyond the scope of this engagement. There's a huge difference between your Muslim math teacher teaching Algebra and these guys. I'm saying it's a situational issue. You can't tiptoe around this. People no longer look at things on a nationalistic or identificatory level. We're all just individuals trying to do our job in a busy and chaotic world at this point. I'm proud because the US has graduated beyond such nationalism. We made a technocratic democracy that emboldens the individual to live a better life. I don't like this engagement, but this isn't a cake-walk or a Starbucks. This is a military situation. How would you engage if you couldn't see who was running toward you and with what, especially if you know what has happened to other soldiers in the field when they were trusting and expressed human emotion?

The Marines ask if that’s the TB bc they have trained ears, those rounds you hear are deeper/larger caliber than their 5.56 M16/M4
Also the cyclic rate is slooower than US M240 7.62 ….THEY know that
I’m asking why the reporting is automatically assigning the responsibility of the shooting to the Marines

In the instant chaos of the situation, I don't blame any Marine or soldier for firing on whomever they deemed a threat. There is little-to-no time to process exactly what is happening. The bigger picture is how messed-up the withdrawal was, and how it resulted in this situation. Military on the ground were just trying their best to secure the area and defend fellow personnel and innocent civilians. In gurella warfare, it's often difficult to determine who is the actual enemy.

Eh. Sounds like a lot of marines firing into the air to get people to move out of the way and leave the area. Weird that was not considered. Though not surprising that the pentagon investigation straight up lied for little-to-no reason. Well, not so weird considering they probably don't consider this a serious event, and just wrote up what was easy and forgetful.
If I'm wrong, and some military fired upon civilians, and the pentagon is covering it up, also not that surprising. If this was the outcome, there isn't much anyone can do outside of victims coming forward to testify, which can be difficult to impossible to do.
Better yet, even if the worse option is true, nothing can be, or will be done. Our military is having a really hard time covering up war crimes, and less people are wanting to join the military becasue of it. The conservative, authoritarian, and fascist aspects of this country are spinning the drain, and they are getting desperate. It's how Trump happened, and is trying to happen again.
Luckily, the majority has finally figured out we outnumber them many times over.

Shouldn't it be easy to find what caliber ammo was used? You were talking to the head doctor who treated everyone and you didn't ask? Was it 5.56mm or 7.62mm? Why are you not reporting on that? If it were all 5.56, or even just SOME 5.56, that would lend a lot of credence that there is a massive US coverup, but you don't mention it at all. Why?

I don’t know this is a thing. It’s battle. Chaos invokes chaos, which leads to a disoriented response. The Pentagon should not have lied. The U.S. Military should have been more prepared. And more men with experience should have been at that airport.
