I have the most highest respect for those girls, they just want to learn let them learn. I'm proud of all of you girls.! My prayers are with all of you and your families.
Who said that they can’t learn? It’s fake news taliban have no problem with girl’s education
The Taliban are the legitimate government of Afghanistan and anyone who breaks the country's rules should be severely dealt with according to the law.
We in the West have no right to interfere in the domestic workings of Afghanistan. We don't like it when Russians and others interfere in our national sovereign rights. No more reporting of what the Taliban are doing and no more reporting of Afghans protesting their governments policies. It is a domestic issue and nothing to do with us.
Thanks to Rwanda for hosting this girls who will make a difference in the world and Afghanistan.
Education is important and something some in the west take for granted. Universal rights that we sometimes take for granted. A great look into the lives of these women. Great job on this documentary!

You are a dude, so I'm sorry in advance
In California, it has been difficult for a white girl to get an appointment with a college counselor, unless you are a refugee, and before this influx of Ukrainian women - it is always that we have to have compassion. Can't I just light a candle and go to school?

What if they say they have Madrasa system as their Education system? How'd you convince them that normal School Education is the best.... They will never give up Islam for School Education as it is against the teachings of Islam to adopt Modern School Education.

Few things matter more for society than children and education. Amazing story of courage and hope.
HOW COULD PEOPLE DISKLIKE THIS??

Excellent coverage. Would have liked to see more of Rwanda’s role.
It's hard for the liberal press to give the black man any actual credit they would rather covet in their own white privileged society. Sadly.
Agreed I guess since I didn't actually waste my time watching polarizing separatist cultural propaganda. Disliked only to get your undivided attention.
So brave and beautiful, outstanding
Gut wrenching to watch.

Education is precious. Nobody can take it away from you. Each and every child should be entitled to an education. The Taliban are afraid of women.
May God be with all

I’m a lifelong teacher. My heart goes out to these girls and educators with so much love. They are so precious! I was very moved by this report. I hope girls of Afghan will soon be able to have the freedom to learn and live as equals with boys.
As a teacher, how amazing is it to know that Rwanda said "yes" to an entire school that would have needed so much support and resources?!?

@@mephistopheleanHuman rights violations aren't simply a "domestic issue".
@@spolch9482 Yes they are, not all human societies are equal as they all have different views on them. A society's government mandates what people have a right to and what they do not have a right to. You would think that freedom of speech and expression are human rights, but we here in Scotland have just been told there is no such thing as freedom of speech and expression as our government has just banned freedom of speech and expression. In some US states, life isn't even a human right, as the state has the right to take your life away if you break certain laws. In Afghanistan women do not have a right to be educated unless the government sanctions it. All this shows that there is nothing we have that cannot be removed and therefore everything is controlled in one way or another by our politicians.
I'm so grateful to the Rwandans for their compassion and support for these young women's education. It's so disappointing to see the heartbreaking regression of Afghanistan society at the hands of the Taliban. May each and every one of those girls be successful!
Taliban love their daughters more than you and want them educated too. But they do not want them educated by foreign ngo groups who have an agenda. They want them taught by afghani Muslim women who will not corrupt them

Then why did the Taliban close ALL state and private schools over 6th grade for females? Why? They don't want educated females, they want hidden females who have to bow down to the males.
To the girls of SOLA....you are exemplary young women, and so delightful, and dedicated! Much respect to you. Here in America, where children, more often than not, take so much for granted and have little respect for education, I wish that all 3rd graders would be required to watch this interview of you all. (My family was well off when I was born. When I was about 10 years of age, my father took me out to a big farm in Michigan in the summer, where poor laborers worked the fields, living 2 to 3 families in 3-room cinder block houses, with their children! It brought into great clarity for me the privilege my parents hard work had afforded me, and I am now 70 years of age, and have never forgotten or taken it for granted.) You young ladies epitomize the value we all should place on our privilege of education. Blessings to you in your lives.

@@mephistophelean I expressed my appreciation of education in general. Even going so far as to criticize American children for their lack of appreciation. These young women are (or were) NOT living in Afghanistan when this documentary was made. I offered no observation about government AT ALL, yours OR mine. As far as interference into Afghan "domestic workings," let me state that I did NOT approve of OR want my beloved country going to yours....for any reason. From one Westerner to another, isn't it nice though that we live in complete freedom to learn and teach, not just one train of thought, but of all. God bless.

This story had me in tears and non-stop crying!!!
This was extremely moving especially when they allowed the girls to go to school only to be told to go home and stay there. How heartbreaking!
Kids here have no idea what. PRIVILEGE it is to have an education.
This story made me so emotional. Shabana is remarkable, and I hope someone in our government is paying attention. Those girls were incredibly strong and resilient, some as young as ten, yet they understood why their education was so important that they had to leave everything behind. The people of Rwanda showed such understanding and compassion. I truly hope that some day Shabana gets to return that rock to Kabul airport.
“Paying attention” so you want to use force again? Haven’t you learned from the past 20 years it will not work ! Nor will sanctions! Leave these ppl alone, go yourself to Afghanistan and you will see for yourself the reality!

Brave women and girls. It's unfortunate that the Afghan government fell as swiftly as it did. While the US withdrawal could have been handled better, it's clear that the Afghan government was far too willing to hand over power. The reality is any foreign intervention will end the same without the ppl of the country behind it.

Such brave and couragous young women! Shavana is a wonderful foresighted educator.
Well they really aren't brave, its not hard to talk to a camera. And if they were brave they would rally in numbers and in arms and fight back with guns and attempt to make a change, but sadly women don't do that yet they claim to be brave.
A wise friend from India once told me the same thing-the one thing that can never be taken from you is your education. At the time I was in my master’s program and upset about a breakup. I have shared the advice with my 5th graders many times and hope to show my next class this story.
What about your faith? Oops...I guess someone could steal your cow. Sadly.

Well at the end of the day, if women want to make a change in afghanistan then they are going to have to get violent because since the dawn of humanity, violence was always the sole way to determine who is in charge and how things are run, and even though in a civilized society where violence isn't necessary all the time to achieve a change, it still all stems from violence and who and what ideology or goals will dominate the other. But women aren't likely to want to get violent.

This story had me in tears and non-stop crying!!!. Praise God for Rwanda️home for Afghan girls..
I feel so bad for those young ladies that can't get out. They literally have no future. They have no men that will fight for them to have a future.
I'm sure they are there, trapped like the families of some of these girls. Surely they were/are not the only ones who wanted the best for their daughters. And the school continues to grow because the demand does exist.
This is the news I needed to hear today. Blessed be you all.
If the men of Afghanistan aren't willing to fight for the rights of their women why should young Western men do it, again?
It was hopeless. Afghanistan is a divided country. There is not a country per se - more of 7 or 8 tribes trying to coexist. The Koran is the only glue that holds the country together. Taliban mullahs are like TikTok influencers holding sway over an ignorant populace.
Women should take up arms 50/50 right?
Because it is the right thing to do. Glad there are many men who disagree with you and are trying to protect abortion rights, etc. in the US.
@@brianag9726 if it's the right thing to do why aren't western feminist's lining up to go fight the Taliban? Sending a bunch of expendable young men to die, no problem. Going and risking their own lives? Nah.
because america lied
What a brave woman!
We the church let's pray for afghan woman' and girls
Ig Afghanistan is a member of NATO how can The otan never did anything when The Taliban invade Afghanistan after the US Left?
Afghanistan is not a member of NATO..
USA should have Afghanistan alone instead going their for opium they were not interested in people of Afghanistan they destroy that country and left in the hands of Taliban they don’t even know Islam properly Allah never said close your women in the house don’t educate them there are boundaries women have to obey it’s Allah’s message but Taliban are other extreme it was a beautiful country America should never interfere in that country
I served in Afghanistan in the American military for a year and saw the horrors the innocent suffered. There were babies and young children with limbs amputated in the military hospital. They stared at me with expressions of shock and total incomprehension. Why did they deserve this? It was one of the most unconscionable crimes of this century for the United States to abandon the Afghan people to the Taliban. Both Trump and Biden deserve to burn in hell and be vilified forever in history for this betrayal. I respect and wish the best for the staff and all the students of this school. I really hope that someday you will take back your country from the Taliban. Many people worked very hard to give democracy a chance there. Please do not let that be in vain just because of a few evil, corrupt politicians and an utterly ignorant, uneducated, stupid people in America. Please become more educated than the Americans so that someday you might guide America back to a moral path.
I understand subjective experiences can change one's view even if distorted in essence of the holistic view, but you need to understand Afghanistan does not as a whole islamic population want a liberal puppet government installed the same way you would not want the opposite of that in your country.
In fact, Obama used more drones and bombings than any other and he should be held responsible.
I know you will probably never change your stances due to the liberal west sending you to westernize and secularize, and support the liberal puppet government on an islamic population where you and others in the mix experienced tragedies due to yours and your soldier friends actions that is not all on you but those who sent you.
But you need to understand the first point here I made regardless of your subjective experiences. Go and re-read it.
