I relate to this character story a lot, because I’ve lived it. Met a girl at work a few years ago who was similar to Tracy’s character. We became very good, close friends and I fell in love with her hard, but we never dated. I treated her as Chris’ character treats Tracy. In the end, my friend wound up doing something that tore our friendship apart and now we no longer speak at all… It hurts a LOT - it’s left me very damaged - and I wish things could’ve gone differently for her and I…but I take some consolation in knowing that I gave her something she needs and deserves: real love, kindness, and friendship

Girls do not expect a guy to reject their advances, and if that happens, they will most likely be hurt or a long time, thinking that they just aren't attractive enough to seduce you. Because from their perspective, why else would a testosterone driven mating machine be able to ressist their offer.
He could've clapped them cheeks but had the maturity and mental clarity to know it was likely the wrong thing to do. The fact that they still made something beautiful together was just wholesome a.f.

😘 She was wonderful in Twilight Saga and onscreen 99% of the time! Kristen Stewart was/is very watchable! That's the hallmark of a movie star, not just an actor. As for her life and career, all cool!
The book lightly touches on the possibility of Chris McCandless being gay or asexual. I don't think he would've let it stop him either way. He did have good morals but even if she was his age he wouldn't have done anything about it. His priorities were clear, he wanted to move on and go to Alaska. He tells her no at 4:34.
