I bought a king size headboard and footboard this is my first time to refinish something I can't wait to get it done yours watching your video has helped me so much
Awesome job Christina Muscari! Nothing better than a Pottery Barn dupe for $100!! Your tutorial was spot on so now I just need to find a sleigh bed! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us! Have a great weekend!!
We have an old sleigh bed I was thinking of donating. Thanks for showing us how to refurbish an old sleigh bed. I might just do this once I have the materials I need and the time to do it. 👍👍👍
Going to do a dresser from the early 1900s with this caning ( perhaps wallpaper - still looking) on the drawers and side panels. I am so glad I found your video because I couldn't find this kind of product. I do makeovers and have lots of projects waiting (not a big budget or a lot of time though, or space at times). But I'm really glad to find your channel. I think your work is amazing, I think YOU are amazing! Thank you 🙏
It‘s beautiful, very classy! And lots of character with all those little nicks and dings you allow to be seen. I like that so much more than „perfection“.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!!! About to do a makeover of my friends bedroom as she has a heart of gold and never seems to catch a break. I have a budget of basically $0 but I do have my sleigh bed in the garage (as I am currently living at my parents) and I already have the paint. Just need to buy the decorative cane which you said isn't expensive so I can do this!!! She wanted the rattan style too!! So excited. One major item underway now, a thousand times thankyou!!! ❤❤❤
That is absolutely worthy of a Serena & Lily or Ballard Designs catalog (etc). I am loving the monochromatic color with the texture, and that beige is perfection! Good job, you!
I absolutely love that you show when you have a mistake and then what you you do to correct it! I am just starting to redo furniture and this is so helpful! Keep doing what you're doing, it's wonderful!
I painted my king size mahogany colored bed white and I love it! I used those painter’s triangles to set it on and they caved in! Lol Beautiful job! It’s amazing what lightening the bed color will do for the entire room.
So, so gorgeous I just love watching you work and picking up tips on how you achieve these successful project. Beautiful work, awesome job!!!😊🙂🙌🏽👍🏾🙌🏽👍🏾
Have been watching your video’s lately and they have given me the confidence to start painting some of our furnitures. Just have to convinced my wife first. 😆 Also I’m so jealous of your sander (almost dust free with a vacuum attached to it) it’s so neat. Kind regards from Iceland 🇮🇸
Love this bed! The color and the cane you chose. Going to try something like this in our daughter’s new basement bedroom. Thanks for the inspiration. 😊
Thanks for the color choice, I've been wanting to upcycle my bed but wasn't sure if to go with a cream color or what? Now to get the courage to do it 😄, I love it, great job!
Been watching a lot of your videos - so inspiring. Very creative. So easy to get the designer look for less if we are just willing to put some work in 😀
Very nice paint job. I like the white vs the wood look. Not a fan of cane webbing for my home personally, but for someone who does like the cane, this bed is great for them.
Glad you went with your gut and used the darker color. Nice farmhouse look. Too bad about the staples; we learn by doing :) I think you should still have used the cane spline even though it wouldn't have covered the staples it would have given a more clean and complete look covering the the cut ends of the cane. Overall very nice.
Love it! Since I always learn as I go when I restore furniture pieces I would have skipped the staples and used a matte decoupage to glue in the decorative cane, then when that dried go over the top with the matte decoupage, then when that dried put on the paint wash. I'm wondering if it would have altered the appearance of the piece although matte decoupage dries clear and with no sheen it might have worked. I used chalk paint to restore my dad's college desk and used several coats of wax to seal it, but my grandkids still managed to chip the paint. I think this time I'm going to use an acrylic paint then seal it with a water-based sealer. Yes, I learn as I go. Lol.
Turned out really nice. Just a few suggestions from someone who's been refurbing furniture for almost 20 years, First most people like the natural cane look, I would have left the cane the natural wood color, being able to see it without looking is the entire point to caning a piece of furniture IMO, second next time you or anyone else does something like this use Weldwood brush on automotive adhesive instead of staples, it has a 45 set-up time with a 30 work time, it's a stronger bond than any household adhesives, Automotive interior guys use it alot to redo dashboards and to put down carpet so it will last forever and it clears dry so you'll never see it after, it's kinda pricey, around $13 for a pint but a pint is ALOT of adhesive to use on other projects, I came across it on accident when I was in a pinch and my son had a can of it in the garage, it was one of my happy accidents though because i use it exclusive for stuff like this since.
This turned out so pretty! My old bed which my mom still has is just like this and I’ve been looking for something to do with it! I may be trying this soon and give it some new life!
Hi Christina. Love watching your videos. I was wondering why you did not consider gluing the cane on the wood to keep it from possibly bumping up in the future. What are your thoughts?
I love it! Something like this is what I was looking for. Thank you
Love seeing dark furniture go light. It always makes the room look bigger

What can we use to make the platform where we can put the mattress
Absolutely I would tackle a project like this as a beginner, but only if it was my own furniture or something I got for free. No pressure, lol.
Love the make over! It really brightened things up. At first I wasn't sure I'd like this. But I do! Thanks for sharing your vision.
Looks beautiful! Love the cane. You are so patient w your work🤍

Thanks for the color choice, I've been wanting to upcycle my bed but wasn't sure if to go with a cream color or what? Now to get the courage to do it 😄, I love it, great job!
I think it looks great. I've used cane before on chairs (as a beginner) so this is definitely a job a beginner could do!
Wow this was a great makeover and very inspirational 😍😘 thanks for sharing Christina
I’m totally going to do this, have just bought a sleigh bed from eBay for £20, hopefully it’ll turn about as good as this
Great job with the bed.

Very pretty even though I looove the 90s furniture. I would just wood fill it and stain it, but the white is very nice.

Easy and a beauty.👍
For sure I’m trying this
Hi Christina. Love watching your videos. I was wondering why you did not consider gluing the cane on the wood to keep it from possibly bumping up in the future. What are your thoughts?
