Great job. You had great shots throughout the video, and it was explained well. Only critique-the Kreg tool is a ‘pocket hole jig,’ not a ‘pocket drill.’
So it's not a 1x10 on the top and bottom? Just the bottom? Also you said the height was 25" and you cut the side boards 16". So if the top board is a 1x4 and the bottom one is a 1x10, how do you get 25"?
If you don't soak it, it's too stiff to lay flat and will curl up. Soaking it softens and enlarges the cane, then when it dries, it shrinks and tightens. Thanks for asking~
Unfortunately, it's no longer available. I would just google it and make sure it's the color and dimensions you need for your frame. I made this headboard about 3.5 years ago and it's still looks great.
To determine the amount of cane I needed, I measured the width of my daughter's mattress and added another foot because I wanted the frame to extend just a bit. The height is just your preference, but I believe it only comes in a few different heights - you could trim for shorter though. Hope that helps!
The can webbing is the more expensive part. The boards are minimal unless you have scrap wood already around. I got the can webbing for $40 but the online shop closed so I'm not sure where to find it for a reasonable price.
I love the way you immediately start the project without any talking I just really appreciate that right to the point kinda video. Thank you.
Awesome! Thank you!

That's correct. This was one of my earlier vids. I don't always catch things in voiceover.
arrrgghhh. exactly what I was looking for. tots doing this. thank uuuuuu. new subbie boss!
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the video! It looks like the boards around the headboard are 1x4. Where did you use the 1x10 board?
The 1x10 is across the bottom so that it disappears past the mattress. Hope that helps! Thanks

Can you explain why you needed to soak it?

This is just the simple headboard diy I was looking for! Love it!
Awesome! Thank you!
You are amazing!!!! I want this headboard, and you’ve generously given me the know how! Thank you 💗 it looks incredible 😍
Thank you so much!!
Simple and straightforward explanation, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Where can I get the cane webbing? Please provide a link. Love the video.

If I have to hear one more …
”um” i’m going to freak😂
Thanks for watching~
It turned out so nice! Can you tell me what exact cane color/item you got from that site? Thanks!
Yes! This link goes directly to it: www.hardwareofthepast.com/product-p/r-8320.htm
BLEACHED PREWOVEN CANE WEBBING
Fine - 1/2" Open Mesh - 20"width
Hi can you please tell me the measurements of how much cane you used?
I used the 20" wide roll, and then because my daughter's bed is a queen, I used around 5 feet in length.
Love it! Steps are clear to follow.
Thank you!
Hi i want to order the cane but idk how much i need to put in the quantity tab in the link you gave. I’m making a full bed head board. Thanks

Hi I accidentally bought 4 feet cane instead of 5 for my queen bed
Do you think it will work out ?
If your bed is a queen size, it will be a little short. You could however, buy wider boards for the sides of the headboard...
Cute. 🥳 ❤
Do you know if you could still do this if your headboard is technically a part of the whole bed frame?
Absolutely! You can staple cane wedding to the back side of the frame.
Beautiful! I want to make this for my bedroom but what kind of wood did you use?
It's just pine boards from Home Depot.
I love this SO much!! What kind of frame is your bed on?
Thanks, Claire! Currently, her mattress is just on a box spring, but I've been considering building a simple platform for it instead.
Obsessed!!!!!! How much did this cost?

omgggg loveeeeee😍😍😍
Thanks much!
Beautiful headboard. Where did you buy the French cleat for $8?
Thanks so much, Kristy!

Did you use any sealer on the wood?
No, but I have matte polyacrylic if I get around to it. My teen daughter has been careful and it's still in perfect condition.
Awesome tutorial! Thanks!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is beautiful! What size screws did you use?
2 inch long
So cute! I love your voice too.
You are so kind! (I hate my voice :)
I was going to count how many times you say "ah" but I lost count mid way through.
It was probably a lot. Sorry if it was distracting, hope the tutorial was helpful.
