Thank you! You've been a great help. I was a helocopter mech in the Navy (Persian Gulf War and Balkans), and later became a science professor. Now that I'm retired, I'm just getting into DCS. However, because I'm also an old man, I sometimes struggle with tech I haven't used before. You're an excellent teacher.
Thanks for the kind words and your service 🫡
just gave that video a full watch, you're a great narrator with great cadance, not too fast not too slow and not too much information overload without making sure to break it down
I appreciate that! Cheers 🍻
Great tutorial!
Thanks! Much appreciated 👍
I don’t understand. Not the dcs saved games folder but THE saved games folder for Install? Just any folder I create or somewhere in the dcs folders?
For what part? SRS will be looking for the DCS folder inside of the saved games folder.
I was looking for a up to date tutorial... Underrated video!❤💙💛 Greetings from Germany
Glad it was helpful!
it gives me the error that it cannot locate DCS within the folder even though DCS is in the folder
Hey @TheEaglePilot - during the install of SRS, the folder you are directing to is your saved games folder not the DCS install folder. The saved games folder can be easily found by putting this in to your windows explorer: %UserProfile%/Saved Games
thanks a bunch much appreciated
Glad it helped!
For FC3 planes, the SRS overlay pop-up also lets you change the frequency (which you can't do in the cockpits of the low-fidelity planes) 👍
Awesome tip! Did not know this one myself. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the video!
You're welcome! Hope it helped!
I actually prefer the in-game VoIP over SRS. It sounds more authentic, has better physics-based effects, and requires very little setup. Once third party compatibility is added, I think it will be time to retire SRS.
I would agree with this as well - from what I have tried & others have told me, it still has a bit to go before the bigger communities will adopt it.
That said, especially with the warbirds - you can't beat the realism and immersion of talking through what is effectively a tin can!
@@sch1lly agreed! Thanks again.
I never considered the temporary discord mute. Now I don’t have anyone on Discord to talk with, but it’s cool nonetheless.
😂 Glad it was useful!
Thanks
I'm getting feed back on the radio. What would cause that
What kind of feedback? Does the feedback happen on other software or only SRS?
Only in SRS. It's just like when you get two mics too close together. I get that high pitched squeal. I was able to tone it down by refusing the speaker boost. But that has lowered my volume. So I'm not sure what is causing it.
Interesting... what mic / headset are you using? Did you ensure proper input and outputs were selected?
@@kellyhall8104 interesting... This sounds like normal mic feedback you would get with being too close. It is possible that the speaker-boost is doing it but I cannot say I have ever heard of this before... I will do some digging - be sure to join our discord as someone else may be able to assist as well.
Cheers!
1:29 Why do you have a occupying army next to our beautiful F15?? Like smearing shit on our flag.
🤣 perhaps they shouldn't have landed on a Canadian Air Force base then...
