Thanks for the video and behind the scenes info. I did notice the Inception video running on the laptop at the start 😀 And thanks for the clapper board app info! I may get it.
A far cry from how the original transporter effect was created. I seem to recall some kind of triple camera duplicator took footage of aluminum dust, the empty set, and the set with actors and did a cross fade without digital help. Excellent tips I'll keep in mind the next time I dabble with video.
I should've at least made that effect yellow, shouldn't I? It was a Motion 5 generator added to Final Cut Pro and I do struggle with Motion. But yes, back in the day, they would have done what the BBC called "roll back and mix", shooting the actors and then the empty set.
Loved this back stage look at things. I've used iMovie very little, Garage Band more for podcasts. I don't think you mentioned, normally, how long does it take to produce your Monday and Wednesday videos. The average is?????
Nuts, I've never worked it out. The Monday videos, as I said, are intentionally fast to make: there are no cutaways to other things, or very few, for instance. I can tell you that the fastest I have ever done a regular Wednesday 58keys was 90 minutes from idea to it being uploaded as a finished video to RUclips. But I remember this so clearly because the very next week's one took 40 hours. I'd get to the end of the video about 1am or 2am, knowing I still had to go back to the start to add something else. I'll look into the average, thanks. I'm curious now.
That's a good idea. Consider it done. You will have to edit it heavily to replace 58keys stuff but I've made a version with some notes. Thanks for asking and you can get it here: www.icloud.com/shortcuts/4c477361d6e44d42892eae42f4866fb1
@@WilliamGallagher Thank you so much! I've downloaded it and will tweak it to suit. I follow a similar standard folder and file-naming system for my own videos, and it never occurred to me to use a Shortcut for that process. This will be a good learning experience.
Great tips William! Thanks for sharing.
"Look at this quality of information..." LOL...I love your commentary so much.
Thanks.

I got into knots with that video within a video, but I love that you spotted it. And I will now think of it is as my Inception video, thanks.
@ I noticed pretty much within a few seconds and got very confused as to how you were doing it 🙂

@@WilliamGallagher Yes, now I want to know this. What I can tell you is I appreciate the results...even more so now.
Ooh, can you share your folder setup shortcut, please? That looks incredibly useful!

My pleasure. It’s proved so handy for me, I hope it’s of at least as much use to you.
