Dragon Age Inquisition - Class Build - Dual Dagger Assassin Rogue Guide!

- Опубликовано: 16 окт 2024
- One of the most complicated and rewarding classes to play in Dragon Age Inquisition, a dual dagger Assassin Rogue! Timing, position, and resource management make playing this class a test of focus more than any other I've played.
This guide focuses on how to build your class using a combination of standard skills from the Subterfuge, Sabotage, and Double Dagger skill trees, and new active and passives from the Assassin specialization tree for Rogue.
This build has been put together from a fresh respec. With about 15-20 points to place, you can put together a very powerful Assassin that has everything it needs to dominate on the battlefield.
Double Dagger
Twin Fangs /
Ripping Fangs (Skill upgrade) /
Flank Attack /
Skirmisher (Skill upgrade) /
Dance of Death /
Sneak Attack /
Deathblow
Sabotage
Caltrops (unused, but necessary) to get to the passive Looked Like It Hurt
Subterfuge
Stealth
Lost in the Shadows (Optional skill upgrade) /
Evasion /
Evade /
Ambush /
Shadow Strike /
Quick Blade (Skill upgrade)
Assassin (Specialization)
Hidden Blades /
Overkill (Skill upgrade) /
I Was Never Here /
Knife in the Shadows /
Mark of Death /
Throatcutter
Here are some other skills worth investing in and replacing Evade with.
Hook and Tackle - A great skill that can help you reach archers and mages on the outer edges of battle. And with it's upgrade It Beats Walking, it costs no stamina and has no cooldown.
Knockout Powder/Knockout Bomb, and the passive Mercy Killing could also be worth taking and applied in certain situations. You will automatically critical hit a target this way.
Poisoned Weapons and it's upgrade Infected Wounds. A decent damage builder, but with you other skills, your target is most likely dead way before the poison even works its duration.
Gameplay: There are basically two plans of attack that I use and I'm almost always positioned if possible behind my target(s)
Method 1 for normal encounters, single or multiple targets - Stealth, move behind target, Hidden Blades, Flank attack for Stealth, Shadow Strike, Stealth, Twin Fangs. At this point, something is probably dead. If not, Deathblow. Now it's definitely dead. ;)
Method 2, recommended for targets with high HP - Mark of Death, Flank Attack for Stealth, Hidden Blades, Stealth, Shadow Strike, if enemy is 25% health or less, trigger Mark of Death. If not, consider Twin Fangs and/or Deathblow, then Mark of Death. Probably dead. ;)
For extremely high HP enemies (ex: dragons) your priority skills are Mark of Death, Hidden Blades, Flank Attack, Twin Fangs, Shadow Strike (to reduce cooldowns of previous skills) When enemy drops below 50% health, start using Deathblow.
As many chances as you get, attack from Stealth. HOWEVER! Do not stand around doing nothing, waiting for Stealth to attack. If you're waiting for Stealth, and/or low on stamina, use basic attacks. You should always be attacking or moving into position to attack from behind!
Also, unless you have aggro, don't go into Stealth and then wait more than 2-3 seconds to use a skill. Instead, use basic attacks, and when you're skills are off cooldown, then go into Stealth and attack with Skills.

Man...
You made me restart the game with a rogue main.
Best avatar for that comment.
Covalent Bond
You can learn it by specializations for inquisitor quest(Assasin) later on.
Btw Thousand cuts with 3th focus + deathmark game breaking pretty much lol.
I found that assasins weak early game but it's pretty OP late game especially on dragons. If you want more hardcore boss fights, don't use an assasin lol.
@@SeekGrace Wouldn't mark of death be useful against boss fights too tho?
Sneak Attack does not increase your crit chance by 84% making it 126%. It doubles your crit chance. You had 42%. If you flank, it will be 84%. If your crit chance was 6%, it would change to 12%.
He said he had 42% and when it take that talent he has now 84% chance to crit from behind. The way he say it could easly sound what you point out.
thanks white person with a black person's name
My first thought was, god damnit a 20 minute video. Your in depth explanations blew my mind and had no problem following you. Very well done sir, I don't subscribe much but damn, how can I not.
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback!
My first complete play through was an Assassin dual wielder. Being the Inquisitor I made sure to give myself good gear (I dont focus on my party as much as I should) so I had I thing the Red Rebirth schematic daggers from the black emporium, and with that passive in the assassin tree allowing me to crit out of all stealths was just amazing.
Watching this vid now 2 years later. Just remembering having so much fun with this game and watching all your vids about it.. I need to play it again I don"t remember all of it.
I really did not have high expectations for this video, I thought since it was 20 minutes long, I would listen to someone poorly ramble about the uses and functions of each skill that was needed, but I got a very detailed and clear explanation all the way. Thank you Kinetic, you now have one more subscriber :)
Building for crit chance seems really strong for pretty much anything but a warrior tank.
the music is so goddamn good in this game
gazeroth yestbhh
I love how in-depth you go with each class! It feels like you're very passionate about what you do.
Thank you! i'm on my 2nd playthrough as dual-wield rogue, and it's helping me a lot!
Mark of death + Static cage + thousand cuts + (stealth & activate mark) = INSTANT DRAGON KILL :)

I still love this game hehehe, nice vid bro. I came back to unlock all trophyies and I saw ur vid again so... Thanks a lot
What do u think it would be the better to use after all those perks?
Which Class Specialization do you want to see next?
Dual Dagger + sera abilities
because its too late for me to change to assassin :(
an alchemy rogue
I would like to see an archer, tempest.
The fire flask with upgrade seems really broken to me :)
Rift mage! I want to see what's all the fuss about :P
I wanna see warrior specialization Champion :)
Thank you! This opened my eyes to which order to use the attacks, now that I'm playing DAI again after a long time.

Damn, this class and build look really fun to play. It's pretty tactical, and there's so much "oomph" to all the animations. Loved it.
The best rogue guide for DAI I've seen
Wanted to say thank you for all your awesome build vids. I've enjoyed them a lot and have definitely used them as a base for my own playthrough. Keep up the great work.
Recently picked the game back up and felt like messing with each of the companions as i normally just play the the inquisitor. This was a tonne of help
Was there a balance change patch? My shadow strike quick blade states 200% damage and no cool down reduction. Trying to find patch notes with this in it but coming up empty handed
Your tutorials cannot get any more detailed than this! Thanks!
Watching this aviation in 2021 with all the dlcs, these videos are still amazing.
Kinetic if you"re here to read this comment ,Do Assassin Archery when you"re done with Rift Mage & Champion .
The Highest damage potential ingame is definitely Assassin Archer followed by Reaver ,I ain"t lying when I did *14000/14k*!!!! with a Single Crit shot on a Despair demon
I'm so glad I came across your channel! Your Dragon Age: Inquisition guides are extremely helpful, and your in-depth explanations make them easy to follow. Thank you so much for putting these videos up! You just earned yourself a new subscriber. :)
I know this video is old but I came back to this game. And this is by far my favorite build thanks KineticGTR
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. Enjoy the game!
I can't wait to try all of your strategies. This was by far the best guide I've ever seen. Thank you so much.
Trying to decide which specialization to go but I'm a little torn...
What are your opinions on Dual Dagger Assassin and Dual Dagger Tempest? Is the Tempest specialization still strong without abusing the Flask of Fire w/ Thousand Cuts?
I feel like Tempest would be more fun, but the Assassin looks like it does a lot more damage.
your video is extremly helpfull.... im glad u showed us how to use the skills not just where to spend our points... u explained things easierly so that i could understand them... thank u for the video
oh and a video on weapons and armor for the assassin would be extremely helpful also
i decided to main a rouge dual blade but i decided to add throwing blades for more utility and boy is it fun. your build is awesome. thanks.
Best Party is Sera, Blackwall, Dorian. Change my mind
Great video.I always play rogue because I like dps classes.Going through 2nd playthrough as Ke but can't take it anymore so gonna reroll this.My 1st was tempest archer.A little trick I used to do thought I should share,to use full extent of some skills like leap(300%) damage bonus and shadowstrike with stealth I do like this.Leap in from of enemy and then go invisible(yeah in between fight not from the start to avoid aggro) and use shadow strike.Just calculate %dps output you will be amaze how much dps it can generate with your tips :D.
Late comer to this game, just bought it this week lol.
Great presentation man. Was super helpful, thanks!
How did you get your crit chance to 40% I barely can get mine to 20. ? Also for weapons should I go more Dex than Cunning or other way around, or should they be balanced. Also what is a nice t3 armor u suggest?
Best class! Most DPS and fun.
Dude, thanks a bunch! this video cleared a lot of my doubts on my rogue, I'm fairly early on my game, level 12
Assassin is the most fun class to play. It works well with both Rogue classes, Melee or Ranged. It is fun to solo this. And a bit more challenging, thus more fun, than an Enchanter.
This was unbelievably helpful, thank you so much.
Rift Mage would be awesome to see if you could. Loving your videos keep up the good work!
Man...I just logged off after creating a rogue inquisitor and I just know I'm gonna start the game right after my sleep.
Hello! just a quick question.. I have a lvl 16 rogue and the one featured in your video is lvl 19... how in the world did you get all those extra skill points? :o
You can farm amulets of power, which give you one skill point to you or any party member. Also dome amulets of power are specific for a certain companion. Hope this helps!
Helpful video thank you!
Quick question- it sounds like using Mark of Death > Hidden Blades is a really effective combo. Is that correct? Do the hits from HB count towards MoD?
Thank you, you've made Cole so much more effective!
Kinetic, in your opinion, which Rogue build do you like best? I've been thinking of getting Tempest but now that I've seen Assassin (and knowing the thousand cuts 'glitch' is going to be fixed or patched soon), I honestly am not sure what to get anymore.
It still works?????
Greg Smith Have you tried using Cole and Sera with daggers (or bows/arrows, but I presume you're thinking daggers) to see which you enjoy best?
Greg Smith You can wait a while before choosing a specialization! I personally didn't pick one until level 15/14-- respec them a few times with Tactician's Renewal and I'm sure you can get a more proper impression.
This is the most helping guide, thank you
Hey, im kind of new to the game and I saw that I dont have that 'assasin' thing in the character record screen, do I unlock it late in the game?
So if I'm going to build up my character like this , I struggle at the beginning but then I'll shine in the late game? (I'm considering to take the risk)
I came to my Dual Dagger Assassin like the Virgin to a child. This Vid really helped me!
I'm thinking of choosing Rouge for my second play through. What specialization you can recommend? Tempest or Assassin? I'm thinking of Archer.
I'm starting to get my head around this now, good video :D
Does this only work with cole? Or are there other skills to take instead?
i could watch your build videos all day...oh wait, i just did.
lol I hope it was worth it. Thanks for watching! ^_^
Does Mark of Death stacks up only damage dealt by Assassin (on marked target) or by every party member?
Mark of Death does stack up to damage dealt by the Assassin and every party member
10:16 it say 55% for the sneak attack on mine not 84% was there an update that change this?? & deathblow is 300% not 200
thank you thank you thank you, im playing nightmare and this build is awsome, liked and subscribed
Great video mate!:)
Can you please put also description of this assassin rogue armor, weapon and accessories?
Thanks in advance
14:55 OMG almost 25k DMG critical hit :o
Does cling to shadows also apply with knife in the shadows? The add on to stealth that allows u to stay stealthed for 3 seconds after attacking from stealth? Because if so u can chain a few auto crit attacks during that 3 second timer
Thanks bro. Good verbal presentation, amazing video presentation. I'll try this build for my inquisitor :)
Which skills are priority if just starting the game? You listed so many^^
What daggers do you have?
Thank you kind sir for this. Been playing for 50 hours and finally got to skyhold (yeah i mess around a lot). I know people are all tempast is the best but i have been playing more like an assassin the whole game. I dont wanna just act like a warrior on the battlefield.
Gonna go get the specialization and re-spec my character to fit this build cuz i have a few skills i shouldn't have taken. QUESTION: I will have probably 13-14 points to re-spec, any particular order i should get the skills?
Keep up the good work. Can you point me toward the best build possible for Blackwall?
when i use hidden blades, only the first hit get critical hit, because i get out of stealth when i use it, yes i have knife in the shadows, do you know why? sorry my english, tks
How do I get the assassin perks for my rogue?? I got to skyhold already and did some missions, I'm also level 11 and still cant find a way to get them. The people I pick for my team has them though
theres an item that you can put on daggers where basic attacks trigger hidden blades so that stacked on top of your hidden blades is OP
How did he get from mark of death to Gaps in the armor?
My game is not letting me to progress upwards on the skill trees
Ik this video is old but, HOT DAMN how are you level 19 in inquisition faction but only level 19 with cole? I'm level 17 and my faction is like 11 and a half!
Thank you so much for making this build. I adore Cole to death, but could never take him anywhere because he kept dying all the time. Now, I can! :D
If I am starting at level 1 what order do I need to put them in as I level up for this build?
I'm reworking my assassin rogue in the morning. My thanks
Assassin is definitely what I'm gonna be. I saw a hit for 25,000 that's is insane. Thanks for the vid, it helped a lot.
I'm pretty sure the hit was from the triggered mark of death :P
I'm late to the party here, only just starting the game lol... but is there a specific order to getting these skills while leveling up? I want to follow this build but I'll be starting from Lv. 1... so would like to know if there's an optimal path, so I don't end up spending my skills on the wrong skills too early or something.
Thanks!
Jason Bristow i just started the game last week. U don't really have to skills your character to a certain order coz u can always reset your build at the blacksmith
akefit Is it easy to make enough money to buy that item you need to respec? I know the first time you buy it is really cheap, but after that the price is higher.
Jason Bristow it's only 375 gold. U will get more money after level 10 n above
Did they nerf these numbers or does it scale with gear? (in the tooltip I mean)
were did u get that rogue helm? i keep getting only those stupid dance mask ones>
im pretty sure that the skirmisher helmet/hat and you can find it in the hissing wastes vendor with the dog
thx
Quick Blade doesn't seem to support cooldown anymore.
Tempest dual-weild rouge. i rly wonder of the best way build it. The best gear too.
Also, please tell me how did you get such high crit chance?
My lvl22 assasin rouge with same skills that you described in this video has only 12% crit chance, as t says at stats -.-
15:10 You take the next skill up (without taking the skill above it first). Does that work on any tree? I tried that earlier on a Weapon and Shield and it didn't allow me to. :(
I think it's the specialization tree only, seeing how small it is. If it was possible for every skill tree it would make the game kinda broken
JarekMasta Are you on Console? I can't get this to work on PC.
I think it works on any tree but only if you try to get a passive not an active skill...
seems like a bug, no other tree does this.
Sorry I'm new to the game but do I use light armour or medium, heavy I'm not sure I'm not very good :D
welcome to the club, pal, this is all new to me too, fun learning it though!
+Greg E yeah it's such a cool game eh
I dont really understand the weapon armor system i feel like im doing it wrong :(
Well I do now since im level 20 now
i havent even got the game yet and really enjoying these good job bro :)
Hey Kinetic... i gotta ask.... i have crafted a Duak dagger.. that has Aoe damage..... and applied a masterwork coth that gives 10% 5 hit hidden blade on hit .... two of my weapons ...... so in total is 20%....... so if i apply this build in my rouge , would it be OP?
You won't get 20%. You get 10% standalone chances. Also only masterwork tier 3 equipment you are planning to use indefinitely. A OP assassin would be this with masterwork guard generation. You will never die. Tier 2 obsidian ftw
i am gonna get 20%.. u wanna know why? coz it became 20% out of 200% ahehehe... but still it is still 20% coz i both have increased the chance coz im using both weapons at the same time....
No. You only get 10% per weapon. The left hand has 10% chance to proc and the right has 10% to proc. Since they're both the same, you will only get 10% to proc. If they were different, say the right hand has 5% to proc, then you will get 15% chance but you only have 10% to proc.
I tried it under the same assumption and it procced at the same rate as my bow so it's a waste to have two same masterworks.
oh well but for me it sorta increase i the hidden blade activation has sorta increased its frequency.. right now around 4 to 5 normal hits it activate.... unlike before it sorta 6 - 8 hits....
Elf Loved Btw about that Gaurd Generation Materwork metal.. where can i find that Obsidian Master work?
soo is the focused teamwork perk worth it?
@KineticGTR is this build even good anymore? Cause i think they probably changed or messed up things with the build.
I don't have reason to think it isn't still good. Some updates have come to the game, but nothing I've seen has nerfed anything significant except Enchanter.
Is this a good build for nightmare difficulty? Love the videos btw, thanks.
All my build videos are done on nightmare.
I like your dragon age builds. Keep it up also do u have a build for iron bull?
Andy Rodriguez it is blood reaver warrior
Thanks for the video. Great info and very well presented 😊🎮👍
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it :)
No problems and I am loving double daggers build 😊
12:35 that "eh HEH" got me dead😂💀
It his game is all build around The rolling of the chests. In order for you to obtain these chest and collect the better loot you need to collect money and rank/prestige your characters. The game, for most people, is going to be having the highest ranked gear and the upgrades to match. Perilous is going to be the main matchmaking game to earn you big money. This is where you really need to be a team player. Skills are also going to be a big part along with the perks you have. They should be the top priority when it comes to leveling, simply because it's pointless to have a lot of perks with nothing to back them up. I say this because your perks are your choice they depend on the weapon and upgrades to your armor, as well as the accessories you have equipped. I'm not saying these are the best classes, but these are a good start if you haven't played the character yet. Here's a general glance at the top Builds for each of the classes in multiplayer:
Mages:
Arcane Warrior - Fade Step/Frost Step, Pull of the Abyss, Stone Fist, Spirit Blade
Elementalist - Immolate, Fire Storm, Frost Step/Stone Fist, Barrier
Keeper - Fade Step/Frost Step, Barrier, Despell, Disruption Field/Static Cage
Necromancer - Energy Borage/Ice Mine, Blizzard, Walking Bomb, Frost Step/Horror
Rouges:
Alchemist - Shadow Strike, Flask of Fire/Flask of Frost, Elemental Mines/Flank Attack, Stealth.
Archer - Long Shot, Mark of
Death, Leaping Shot, Fallback Plan/Evade.
Assassin - Flank Attack/Evade, Shadow Strike, Hidden Blades, Stealth.
Hunter - Elemental Mines/Toxic Cloud, Spike Trap, Leaping Shot, Fallback Plan/Stealth
Warriors:
Legionnaire - Unbowed, War Cry/To the Death, Walking Fortress, Shield Wall
Katari - Mighty Blow/Earthshaking Strike, Whirlwind, To the Death, Charging Bull
Reaver - Devour, Rampage/War Horn, Ring of Pain, Dragon Rage
Templar - Line in the Sand/Payback Strike/Spell Purge, Wrath of Heaven, Unbowed/Horn Of Valor, Shied Wall
Multiplayer is a silly minigame. It's just a way to spend some time, not the real game. The game per se is the single player campaign.
hey I really enjoy your videos, assassin rogue is awesome. do you think you can create a tempest rogue build and compare it to your assassin rogue?
So much FPS, I had to upgrade my monitor to 70hz
I see you're using a controller, do you think it feels better to use than Keyboard?
Could you possibly list your recommended order of the abilities you've suggested? Thanks.
You sound like Patrick Bateman in American Psycho... Patrick Bateman is telling me how to up my game! Your awesome!
Is this only on cole??? I don't see Assassination on my character?
which rogue build (or mage for that matter) gives the more challenge? like reaver, where one false move and you die, if using the most of it, as dragon eats away at your health.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but my character that I made is rogue an only rogue can she not be an assassin cause she has the mark? Or is there a quest I must do?
Do you have skyhold because theres a quest called specializations for the inquisitor
Can you do a video on the class specializations like, templar, reaver, assassin, etc. And talk about what playstyles they should be used for?
what daggers do you have equiped in this video jus wondering and hw much attack
To get those daggers Complete the 'fears of the dreamers' quest in the fade in the Adamant mission. the dagger schematic will be right before the nightmare. (only if the quest has been completed) ✌
I watched some videos on your channel. Nice guides, but i must ask... Do you HAVE to read EVERY description of EVERY skill????? You could just tell what the skill does in short and show it. It got so annoying after few videos, but thx anyway
I quit the game with 100hrs played as dual dagger assassin. Combat seemed clunky and boring. This guide brought me back and now I'm loving it on nightmare difficultly :)
What's the best specialization concerning survivability for a solo nightmare run, Tempest or Assassin ?
I would say tempest because of flask of frost
Soo all your builds for every companion including the inquisitor, are still good today?? I'm playing on ps4.
I got 58% Crit Chance. Should i go and make it further or just focus on Crit Dmg now?
if it's not too late I'd say damage
I just bought this game and I have no idea what class to pick I want to pick the best one what would you recommend?
Jon Dean
I don't know if you've set your mind on a single class yet, but honestly they all become OP. And since the other companions can all have a specialization, you'll have whatever class you want to play as.
Mages of all sorts are the most fun though.
