The guy broke my heart. Seems like such a nice guy.
This really put me in the mood for pizza!!!
rip raymond
@@Chris-ze3icdid he pass away?
Man, when I heard him say he was a widower my heart just broke for him!!! So glad he was able to strike a deal in the end!
same
darn, end spoiled
It didn't work out.
Brought a tear to my eye too. A man who’s looking for a break in life. Well done dragons.
Duncan's planned snarky put down was ruined!
You just know Duncan was going in for a jibe about being single and the ‘widower’ comment stopped him
Exactly he should still be ashamed of himself
@@billysequinswhy? Anyone going on the show knows what to expect, he asked him a reasonably awkward question possibly to catch him out, then stopped when it was inappropriate and showed respect.
@TehDawg so widowers deserve respect but single people don't?
This has to be one of the biggest turn arounds in the Den ever.
I felt so sorry for him then really pleased when he won two dragons to help him😊
💯
"helped" but also took 50% of his company
@@Colin_Lawlor_Audio”50% of something is better than 100% of nothing.” I’m not sure he could have made money on the product without the dragons tbh.
@@Dincorta 50% is too much. Someone with a backbone would have saved more of their own company
@@Colin_Lawlor_Audio not necessarily. these people are able to launch a product with infinitely more ease than a person like raymond could
I have never been so happy at an episode of Dragons' Den.
Wherr can you buy these?
I was glad he got investment too! He's doing God's work
@Lee Claxton
I meant The Pizza item.
@Lee Claxton hahaha 🤣 genius
@@anubusx I imagine discount stores and pound shops
Duncan just scoffing pizza 😂
That really made me so happy when they decided to help this poor nervous guy out. I love seeing things like that :-)
Everybody loves Raymond.
I could have used one of these yesterday. He's right. The middle does stay soggy. I would buy it!
This made my night. What a lovely, genuine fella. I was actually proper invested in watching myself by the end it was like a celebration, hope he is doing well today, top man Raymond 👍🏼
When Raymond gave his pitch, I just thought I bet he has other inventions up his sleeve or just in mind. I was surprised the Dragons didn't ask, anyway good luck to the guy.
Sweet fellow. You can’t help but root for him.
Have to respect this guy. Never done a business but got patent and even flew out to India
You are just repeating what the dragons said. Want some likes much? Sorry soul.
It's ridiculous
Never underestimate a quiet and reserved person! What a legend, hope he sells millions.
company dissolved in 2012.
yes this means that all the crap on social media about presenting self is nothing if you have strong product
Those are the first people you should underestimate.
It wasn't the quiet and reserved manner. It was the product idea. Boy did he prove me wrong since he got two dragons. Although the comment below said the company dissolved.
@@dariussparkes7080what a shame.
What a nice guy. So glad he got the deal with TWO Dragons!
I felt for him when he mentioned widower. Bless him
Who is widower?
@@BenjaminGoose BenjaminBore try actually watching the clips
Poor guy sounded so nervous but glad he got investment
Peter standing up to reveal he is a giant.
Surprises me every time lol
He's seems like a nice bloke.
A boring bloke.
I actually love this idea. All my pizzas I cook have been terrible over many years lol
The product was picked up by Ethos cookware and given Dragon's Den branding. It had mixed reviews - some people thought it worked, some said it was useless. Although it seems like that might be because it requires pre-heating to be effective. Seems like sale was discontinued a decade ago though.
I was thinking it would need to be pre-heated because , otherwise, the cold metal would actually slow down the cooking process of the middle of the pizza till it warmed up. Shouldn't be a problem if people were following cooking instructions but lets be honest, frozen pizza buyers (me included) cba preheating anyway!
Thanks Richard
@@munkymunk9053 Simply use existing oven tray and punch out the curve problem solved, reversable etc,🙂 send me my royalty. Could be an upsale when selling any brand stove. Extra grill tray.
I bet with TikTok, Amazon etc this thing could’ve sold way more in todays times. Well done to Raymond for trying, I bet a lot people who watched this for the first time laughed at him, but they couldn’t do what he achieved
Light weight shipping would be a breeze, wondered why he could not have made those in his garage looked simple.
@@orlandominichiello even if you make that in your garage, I dont think you would have beaten that production value.
Bannatyne was going to go down the nobody would marry him because he's an nerd, until he heard the word widower. He shifted gear in a split second, old silver tongued fox.
Yeah it looked like he was gearing up to make fun of him
No, he just assumed that because he was cooking frozen pizza he couldn't have had a wife
The product is actually quite a good idea, even now. It COULD do well in Tesco or in one of the cheaper supermarkets.
Circular baking trays with holes in to help cook the pizza from underneath are a general thing... I'm not sure the product itself makes money though.
Or you can just put it straight onto the wire rack...same thing.
@@JoeyRhubarbit’s not the same thing at all. You preheat the oven with that metal device on the rack. Then when you put the pizza into the oven on top of the device, the Center part of the pizza is making contact with the piping hot metal device. It focuses more heat onto the central part of the pizza. Just popping it on the rack does not do that
Wasnt it for a microwave? Every frozen pizza ive ever seen says not to microwave them.
@@Garycarlyle Pretty sure he's using a combination microwave or toaster oven.
Good old Raymond, hope he's successful...!👍🏾
Bless him
Tru Cooks Ltd...Dissolved 7th August 2012...this is really old
Deals with nerves so well, I tell you when nervousness starts it really takes over and can take control of you even being able to answer your own name, the fight if you can have it has to be so strong. I think the guy did great with that, the products not bad. The problem most certainly exists
Tbh he was really nervous, you can't really tell when he's quiet though.
Guys, he was nervous but I bet he’s not an outlandish character anyhow.
A quiet Man
Bless this man's heart.
Coincidentally, I've sat down to eat my frozen pizza while I watch this.. mine is undercooked. Lol
There’s no pizza shop in your town?
Very unusual ending to that particular pitch.
I do have this issue every time i cook frozen pizza, burnt on side soggy in the middle, he is right, i would certainly buy that thing!
good decision ray, with his unfortunate demeanor and personality he had no chance on his own, he seems like such a nice chap i am so happy for him
Raymond is a genius! He doesn't look like it, but he surely is.
^
Such a lovely, unassuming man. I'm over the moon for him.
So delighted he got the investment.
Well Done Raymond, i hope this goes well for you.
What a lovely man hope he makes millions.
He can solve the soggy middle thing
They are not 'in hysterics' about the product name 'Magic Pizza'. They're laughing at the soggy description.
Good bloke, hope he does well. It's a good idea and he put it into practice. Could become standard also could be a promotion with frozen pizzas.
This is from about 20 years ago
Legends say james is still stroking his beard in that chair to this day
Love James 🤪
good product i'd use it im always undercooking my pizza 🤣
This was an emotional rollercoaster
God damn he nearly talked himself out of a deal. Guy didn't stop talking
The best thing about this is that unlike the round trays with holes in made for stopping a pizza having a soggy bottom but will drip oils into the oven during the bake is that it should work with a standard tray.
Thought one of them was gonna burp after taking a slice of that pizza XD
I could imagine a frozen pizza company bundling it would make a ton of sense.
Dragon's Den is suddenly the only show I watch
"Six years ago." "Development and building up protection aswell." "Not at the moment no." - Raymond
"Nerves have rendered Raymond innarticuate and monosyllabic" - Narrator

Well done Raymond 👍🍕😀🍕👏
Good for Raymond.
This could be used inside cake-tins and all sorts, not necessarily just frozen pizzas. Cue the oft-used "Soggy Bottoms" term by the judges in Great British Bake-Off.
Nice man.... Deserved abit of luck.... Good luck 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I bought his product on Amazon many years ago! Still got it and use it. Definitely works.
Cool!
@notexpatjoe Yeah exactly that.
I hope this worked out well for the guy. He seems so genuine and, I get the feeling that losing his wife knocked every atom of confidence out of him. Would love a follow-up on this one.
No bullshit, admits certain areas of the pitch were not ready or unknown (sales orders etc), and was genuine. His character extracted a deal and damn well deserved against others who try and speak in riddles and estimates.
Glass milk device to put in bottom of sauce pan to help to prevent boil over , and colour changing egg hardness timers all seem to sell throughout the decades.
Surely this is a similar item .
People buy and friends buy !
This was exactly the type of product you might see in a Poundland shop, buy it but probably never use...
Poundland shop? Hilarious name
Looks like they could do double duty. pizza and drain cover why did the dragons miss that one !
The dragons always keen to free food😅
youre not wrong!!! hahaha
This is totally something that would be selling on late night infomercials back in the 90s here in the states.
Nice little gadget. That could be sold anywhere from markets, Poundland, supermarkets etc. etc.
50% was a bit steep but he had no orders. Would love to know how this worked out
Have you ever seen them in the shops ?
@@billymabum3514 did you hear about them talking about international markets?
@Lee Claxton I am very sorry to read that. Now I wish I had not looked at the comments.
@Lee Claxton yeah but still could have made him rich before company when bankrupt. He must have took some income
@@dac8939 they had them in Poundstretcher years ago - would be post bankruptcy judging by the comments here - and got reduced to 49p which must have been a lot less than the cost to produce. Best guess is that it was just a total flop and very few were ever sold
This is a classic case of: it may be a good idea, but is it a business?
what a legend guy.
Raymond is a top lad .
Sounds like a nice guy. He is 73 years old now, hope he has retired and is happy!
I was surprised that none of the dragons suggested licensing it to the companies that sell frozen pizza, just include it with their packaging
might’ve edited out these pitches go on for sometimes upwards of an hour. Also licensing was mentioned. I’m sure theo and peter spoke about it afterwards. Looks like it just got sold out on amazon but it’s great reviews and has sold out maybe times.
Good job!
Man, I get pretty nervous when I gotta speak in public but not THAT nervous, so happy for him to have gotten 2 Dragons on his side, I related to him a lot and the "soggy middle" thing was hilarious, it's so weird to see the Dragons laugh that much.
Very nice one
I’m so pleased for this guy he seems like he really deserves it I really hope he does well
Good for you Scouse !
I thought he was calling the product a “Magic Peter” haha
Deb is a National Treasure. Bless her soul.
The only reason i like her is that she's grown old gracefully not had any work done and she's down to earth or seems to be. But sometimes she's acted like a bit of a cow on occasions
I’m out sorry
He totally reminds me of Harry Enfields character.
Yes go on Raymond
Go on Raymond!!!!
Lol the dragons were so unimpressed they were asking questions just to laugh at him.
And a puntastic opportunity to throw in some puns for Evan too😅
Didn't see that one coming. I wonder how its going and if the deal came through
Unfortunately the company was dissolved in 2012, around 4 years after this aired. Presumably the deal fell through. Raymond was nearly 60 when he was on this show, so he's almost 75 now. Hopefully he's doing OK!
Should of asked for 24% each
He should have told them to f*ck off and walked out...nice man, good luck brother.
The frozen pizza king 😂
They all backtracked and it backfired the moment he said widower lol. I genuinely think that got him investment. Crazy to say. Nice to see.
Im in ! I would love a slice of the action .
I don't understand the practically with a frozen pizza. How are you supposed to put it in the oven? If you have a large pizza frozen stiff, are you supposed to balance it on the device while leaning into the hot oven?
You cook a pizza on a tray or a rack which is removable from the oven. Frozen stiff does seem like a valid concern though.
true, a frozen pizza wouldn't balance on it. Plus, you'd have an extra really hot metal object to deal with - dangerous.
This has officially become my second best dragons den pitch after Levi roots 🙌❤️💯
This dude won a noble prize when it was discovered that tiny black holes form under the cover when used in a certain place at a certain Temperature, 100'00's died but he's on his way to making the perfect power source out of his perfect death machine now, true story.....
I feel like he just needed to be on the US version of the show. One of these at the Target check out could sell millions
Sometimes these dragons can be SUCH snobs. This looks like an awesome device and I would and will buy one if I can get it in America. So many times the middle of the pizza is still undercooked when taken out of the range.
Why on earth would you eat middle of the pizza separately from the rest😅😅😅😅😅
@@scienceevolves4417 get in is just more powerful than us
If Leroy roots had brought it in, they’d be fighting for the investment. I feel sorry for Raymond, he was clearly very nervous.
I think it’s actually a good idea, I’ve seen exactly what he means by soggy bottom… giggles … but actually I find it’s the cheese on top in the middle not toasting. I’d buy one of these for sure.

Theres a very similar device now in air fryers, hopefully he had some patent or involvement.
Thing is, this is actually a brilliant invention!!
I am so delighted he got a sale ..
How's the company doing
The company dissolved in 2012, I wonder what happened with it :( hope it was something positive because this is the kind of product that you'd buy and leave in your kitchen drawer until needed. Small, available when needed, probably not extortionately priced.
