    I was a foster mother for many years for babies that were drug exposed. These babies don't "cry" like a normal baby does. They literally scream. It's so heartbreaking and as a mother myself I can't imagine how any woman can cause this amount of pain to your own flesh and blood. The comfort is that this precious child is resting in the arms of the Lord. ♡♡♡

      Christina, bless you for all you have done for your foster children. It cannot be easy, especially with those having these terrible symptoms and the physical, emotional, and behavioral issues that come along. I can’t imagine that level of suffering starting from the very moment you’re born. It takes a very special kind of person to take these children into your home, give them the love and care they need, knowing they can be taken from you and returned to their birth family (which is of course the ultimate goal, for them to live safely, healthily, and happily with their parents) at any time. Thanks for all you do.

      yup and the parents because cps knew that baby was in danger (violence & drugs) and they still let them have it, and then you got cps that go and take kids that don't need to be taken cause someone can make a false claim and end up in way worse conditions cause they take a parenting class and get a check to care for the child... Cps has harmed more or put children in more danger than they help a big percentage of the time...And you know they're not gonna claim the death and accept the fact they let this baby get killed because they knew what all was going on and they knew he was letting her/babies bio-mom stay there DURING THE DAY-yeah right-that's his wife...com'mom...They knew...They should be responsible she said/maternity nurse: he wouldn't stop crying-baby, no eye contact from the bio-dad but didn't do anything for that baby...It seems to me it was the fault of the cps supervisor and the main person under her over the case for the child..

    So little Dylans 'mother' lashed out at him in anger because SHE caused him to be addicted and this little newborn struggled through withdrawals. SHE couldn't handle listening to him. What a disgusting excuse for a mother. Instead of being guilt riddled by seeing her own defenceless newborn go through the horrors of withdrawals. Instead of comforting him through this, she instead severely punished him for this. Omg. My heart breaks for that little angel 😥

      @Native Nfree the department of health and human resources need to just have a building just for infants and children to be brought to so no harm comes to them and nothing happens to the mother and they both get care...So many very young women that shouldn't be having kids that have kids are either in places that they shouldn't be and in situations and get scared need a place like that...I agree because there would be fewer babies abandoned and killed you are right like these safe havens but for parents to be able to do so without criminal charges...So many out there that want babies that other's don't want but do eventually later on in life would want to meet the bio parents for that child and more families would come together in the end and the bio-mothers wouldn't feel so shameful either and could face the child they gave up for a better life at the end of its caregiving and upbringing...

I would have replied if he was so distraught and really cared for his son, we would not be in this courtroom talking about his newborn son being found at the bottom of a well wrapped in chains, locks and whatever else was stated. Whether he laid a hand on the child or not, he knew what was done and did nothing to stop it, prevent it or punish the one responsible, he deserves no lienency on any charges.

      Jennifer S. It’s more to do with the type of medication they would have to give. Once you start a baby on for example ‘methadone’, then that baby would have to be on a programme to withdrawal from it. Which can last a long time and cause other symptoms to these baby’s. So they try to comfort baby’s if it’s only a matter of a short lasting, minimal symptom withdrawal in other ways. They’d do this with regular feeding, even sugar assists with pain etc etc..
      I’m a midwife so am not entirely forte with their methods but have had these conversations before with neonatal drs. I’ve seen some baby’s who withdraw straightaway and others who take days to exhibit symptoms. Alcohol withdrawal can be one of the worse and directly from birth 😳

    36:12 and following: if the baby was on oxygen for the first hour and half of his life, that means from approx. 6:00am (he was born at 5:54am) to 7:30am. So, the father was in the nursery before 7:30am, not before 8:30am. The time the baby started oxygen was not the time the nurse started her shift, the latter being 7:00am.
    It is remarkable that the nurse did not catch the mistake but, more important, I cannot understand how the defense attorney can miss or misunderstanding this point, because being in the nursery before 7:30am is better for her client than being in the nursery before 8:30am.

    • @tesslawv693
      @tesslawv693 4 года назад +1

      @Native Nfree I would call that felony child abuse. If a child gets into harmful substances after they're born, it is. I would think even more so while in utero. My daughter had an abruptio placenta and they tested both for drugs and alcohol immediately and told my daughter if it was positive for either, she would be charged with child abuse. That really ticked my daughter off but I understand why they do it. Perhaps it depends on the state?

    So the husband did know that his wife was still using Heroin to keep off the withdrawal not only knowing it when she delivered at the hospital as was previously stated. He was irresponsible because any normal person has to know that this continued use has to affect the baby! The husband displays mild signs of using some type of drugs whether legal or illegal.
