My business has a PO box that also allows us to use a normal street address format for UPS/FedEx. That's worked really well for us.

One of the issues I have found in not having a physical building address is that some larger companies, like HP, will not make you a partner for enterprise solutions if you do not have a physical building address. As well, having previously worked for municipalities, many of the purchasing agents will not choose your bid if they determine that you do not have a physical address. So these are considerations to think about when deciding.

I work almost exclusively remotely, returning to the office to image and ship machines. All meetings are done on teams.

IMHO there's one important point missing and it's about one of the major sales obstacles called "No Trust!"
Besides all the mentioned and agreed advantages - a physical location implies that some other person trusted you and your business abilities already and that you probably make enough money to stay alive for a certain amount of time.
    This especially true for 1-person-shops.
Unless you don't have a house, working from a small home in an apartment building is not a good prove for being successful - no matter if you actually are. That always leads to increased customer acquisition efforts.

We had a huge storm that took out our office building, so I moved everything home. It works really well.
I do a lot onsite, some remotely and some I work on in my office in my basement.

I truly believe if you are running a break/fix company, you need some sort of physical location. I don't think it has to be a retail space, but somewhere that you can meet clients at.

We have a hybrid situation going on. There are guys who just like the routine and comrraderie of the office. We test and build in the lab. Meet in the office for weekly catchup. Alot of site work and working from home. This has always been our way. It seems alot of companies now realise this is possible and on some cases better. We have a customer who went hybrid and they only do 4 days a week now. They found its increased their productivity.

They had remote systems but never used them until the pandemic hit. They then decided to turn to a 4 days week and a mix of office and remote work. They seem to love it. They had been a traditional 8-5 office based company providing wholesale items.

I have an office because we sell equipment. If all we did was managed services I think we could get away without an office but we sell and install a ton of equipment and I think it's easier to have everything go to the office for storage/setup.

You can't really do network engineering end to end without being onsite at least some of the time, I like the mix, works for me.

We are over $20 million in revenue and don't have a physical location. We only have one area that has enough employees close enough to have one, but we wouldn't use it.

    No, you do not.
Yes, depending on what exactly you do, you may need a “presence” or warehouse etc.
So very dumb to bring customers/strangers to your house, but not too surprised that you did.
