I Rescued A New Massive Male Crested Gecko!!! Meet Oliver! | DIY Reptiles

Occasionally, people reach out to me with crested geckos they no longer want or can keep. With Oliver, they could no longer keep him, and that is how I ended up taking him in.

Old critter lady here. He Needs more horizontal branching and wider to accommodate his body size. And a hiding spot. And when you can, have a bigger terrarium for him to maneuver in. For him I would use a 36 x 18 x 18. Or a 24 cube. And make him a jungle highway. Just an idea from a fellow arboreal gecko person.

Please don't keep him by the window you may get a spike in the heat and it can cause heatstroke plus also secure the background tidy, add more foliage, good substrate, a regulated heating source with thermostat, thermometer and a hygrometer, don't let the humidity get too high or to low. Handle the gecko in a more darker room and try weighing him in a bowl with some paper towel in, it will be more secure and more accurate than a lid sliding all over the place ... I have a bad feeling about this little guy 🤕

I wouldnt weigh on a soft surface, itll give you an innacurate reading. You want to set the scale on the floor or hard table top
