the male protects the eggs and then when they hatch, everybody eats the babies...we've never see the eggs, but occasionally thee adults quit eating when I feed them. We saw a single baby fish about 18 months ago, and then it was gone. This spring we saw a single baby after about 10 days of the adults not eating when I fed them. We saved the baby and are just about ready to reintroduce it to the community tank...I did a little research because I've only dealt with guppies having offspring
These creatures are wild and should not be kept as pets. They eat a wide variety of live food which does include worms and grasshoppers, but they also enjoy bees, flies, fish, beetles, moths, larvae and more. This is why you should not keep them inside and limit their diet. Dig a pond with some small fish and plants, and if you do your research to obtain the right conditions, they will come.
The “blunt nose minnow” is actually a just a wild fathead minnow. Fathead minnows do look similar to blunt nose minnows but only male fathead minnows get those vertical white stripes on their bodies during spawning. Hope this helps:)
That squirrel is going to be hassled unfairly by the animal cops
Been searching the internet for this as I was not sure how safe it is to do, I have a 75 gallon long that has no more purpose but to take up space or be used as a over side quarantine tank for my turtles. This is so awesome!❤ thank you for this video going to post my build to help others as well.

noice! Giant hobby good work
Dude! Do a room tour!
I found your video looking for an answer as to if my calla lily will grow in water. 90% of my plants are in water and it's helped me to keep them all alive. Keeps them from being over watered when my husband helps water plants I've already watered. Did you end up having success?
Does a heater work the same?
What is he feeding her?
New silicone doesnt stick well to old silicone so you generally should reseal the entire tank
Those did not "fer sure" come off the wood and they are not "fer sure" detritus worms. There are plenty of other types of worms out there which look similar, including some which can be harmful to humans. Some types of worms can be brought in as eggs in sand, and unless you boiled the sand, filtered it, and chemically treated it, It is more likely that the worms came in on the sand than on the wood (though that is a possibility). You should locate either a vet which has experience in water-born worms, or with a fisheries biologist who has similar credentials. These little nasties could end up being a problem for your fish and turtles and even you if they are the wrong kind of worm. The fact that they came out of the sand when you stirred it up is evidence enough that they could have come in on that. Bad worm eggs can lay dormant in sand for decades and still hatch and take over the aquarium. Rinsing the sand in a bucket isn't going to be near enough to remove all harmful pathogens from the sand. If any heavy metals had been deposited in that sand, it will be there for centuries, and of course there's worms and other microbes. This stuff gets deposited by infected birds, or during storms. It's better to be safe than sorry. Find out from someone who specializes in this kind of stuff.
can't hear it
that's a thick sausage boy
I’m currently fishless cycling my Nana tank with live plants and bogwood. Noticed these thin white worms this morning and was a bit freaked out. Hope my betta eats them when I get it. Never seen them in my 30” tank that’s been seasoned with my fish for 3 months.
I have one hanging around my stairs outside and I think because my cat got to him. I brought him indoors....want to know what to feed him until he is well
how do you handle humidity?
Your video is best in all over RUclips videos thanks bro 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💓💓💓💓💓💓💓

Is it OK if my turtle tank is 65° is he safe to go in or should I wait till the water gets warmer which it hasn’t done
Is that normal to baby RES not to eat? since I bought the RES first day he don't eat but on the second day they eat. and 3day and 4th day he never eat even I put some pellets? why he dosen't eat can you help me?
How do you recognize which one is female and which one is male?
Males have a slim body plus shorter and females have a wider body plus females grow bigger as well
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I couldn't figure out what type of worm was in my tank, and nothing online was helping me identify my super mall, white, worms that like to stick up out of the substrate and wiggle around all day.
Thx u so much for helping this turtle❤❤❤😊
Chickens yay❤❤❤
My iguana is the exact same way lol i really enjoyed this thanks
Can you just use dirt instead of oats?
Keep the population down with guppies and small fish they will eat it.
Mines are captive bred and very skittish anyway A family member cought wild ones bred them and I got 3 😊
Hi I don’t see any greens they are tropical??
This was helpful! I’m planning to set up an egg laying tank & wasn’t sure what to put in it! Can you provide any info on how you created a pass-through from 1 tank to another? I have 2 tanks & plan to get a 3rd & want her to be able to travel from one to the other. Thank you!!
Because you can't deal with people!
You trying to get the hantavirus?
You have a built in food source my friend.....you can reduce feeding dramatically because the fish will love these.
I recently got planaria in a shipment of plants. They proceeded to hunt snails, but since I added fish and have used traps, the snail deaths have lessened and quite a few more have been born. I do not wish to eradicate them as they serve a purpose in population control. Everything in nature plays a role, and Im viewing my aquarium as no exception.
I found a bug stop the presses!!!!
i know this vid is older but you seem wayy tooo scared to own an iguana honestly.you being so scared makes things worse
What veggie do they seem to eat the most of for you? I have dairy cows and the orange
Mine breed like crazy using moist peat moss substrate and a dish for their roach chow
