I feel like Kissin is a pianist who proves that you can be strong, fast and elegant at the same time. Of course you need to be good. Really good. And just because you want to create sound with volume doesn't mean you can just hit the keyboard, as anyone who has ever played a piano for a moderate time will tell you. He's obviously a master and transferring his energy to the keyboard without hitting it is a piece of piss for him. It's still a joy to see music and instrumentalism being executed and expressed on this level. Especially by a mediocre pianist like myself. Oh, and he is totally a headbanger, love it. Go watch his Chopin Etude Op 25 No 11 performance (the one where he wears the cream coloured jacket). He enjoys his pulses.
@@margaretlavender4418 Vulgar and crude? I suppose i am, if you consider urine to be such things. Lets not perpetuate the image that music like this should be enjoyed with fine clothing, wine and by people with high class vocabulary.
I believe the source is the artist’s temperament, his/her emotional makeup. I feel Kissin has an abundance of male energy, to genderfy my meaning. In contrast, Horowitz bel canto “obsession” with touch and dynamics was more feminine interpretively, not that this is restricted to just one artist or the other. It is a predisposition; how one sees/feels the music interpretively.
YES, HE EVEN OUTPLAYS RACHMANINOFF WHO IS THE ONLY GREAT PIANO COMPOSER TO BE RECORDED, HE PROBABLY OUTPLAYS ALL THE GREAT COMPOSERS EXCEPT FOR LIZST, CHOPIN, AND ALKAN !!!

I agree. Although many pianists such as Kissin tend to slow down at that part, I prefer Argerich who just goes into it with the energy. Still an amazing performance by Kissin though.
I play piano and I wonder how much practice it takes to play something this long without one mistake. When he was 12, he recorded Chopin concertos 1 and 2 with no mistakes!
woah dude...kissin's playing is perfection...its unparalleled! no mistakes...and his style is short and snappy on the mini running passages...dunno which bar ill have to check but...perfectooo!
As per usual, the always amazing Evgeny Kissin. To me, the greatest pianist in the world who consistently creates the most beautiful sounds. He is as close to perfection as is possible for a mere mortal.
Tonight, I saw him play this same scherzo at Carnegie Hall for the Ukraine benefit concert. I leapt out of my seat at the end - couldn't help myself. (Then, for the final piece, he and Richard Gere combined their voices with all the singers that had just performed. It was phenomenal.)
I also have played this piece and my teacher ( Almudena Cano from Spain ) worked on it with me for six months painstakingly. She had small hands but she managed to play the left hand in the beautiful "Cantabile"-part smoothly and seemingly without any effort. When the sun was shining outside and when everyone was going to the beach and enjoying the sun and the sea, I was studying on this work of F Chopin in the home of my parents on a Yamaha Conservatory grand piano .
@@manfriede3511 It was my upbringing that had done it. That's so true - the first version I ever owned on record was Vasary's 1960's performance on DGG vinyl - for me, nothing else has ever come close, although logically I realise that there are dozens of equally good versions out there. Aren't human beings strange?

That was probably the best I've ever heard and I've listened to hundreds of renditions of my favorite of the 4 scherzi. Words only begin to express the refinement and the pure nobility that he brought with this performance. Bravo

Agreed
The way he transitioned at 6:19 is fantastic! Incredible musicality throughout!
Such clarity! So many rush through that part and I’m always crestfallen when they do, but the true masters know better
ye lang lang's version is compared to this a joke xD ruclips.net/video/_ImETzD5g9Y/видео.html&ab_channel=SebastianoMarino (6:45)
With all the notes and bombast in the music, Kissin always brings out the melody, there's always a beautiful phrase.
Exactly. He brings you true spirit of Chopin unmatched.
The compozer is always the genius. The pianist. Is the performer. The genius is always alive and living.
4:50 is like a different instrument! Kissin is in full control over the piano! He can do anything he likes with the piano!
Amazing! Sheer perfection.
I nearly cried by his performance! This piece is so beautiful!!
Speechless ! What an amazing pianist!!!!!, it's a pure joy to hear him playing.
We are so lucky and blessed to have him playing for us......he works so hard......God bless him always and those he loves well

He is Chopin encarnate.

Каква красота! Благодаря ти... Останах без думи. Докосваш клавишите в сърцето ми.
Kissing is probably the number one pianist today. His touch is amazing.
I love his untypical technique folding his fingers he doesn't use.
However, Debargue will be the new Horowitz in 5 years, no doubt.
Except Volodos is probably the greatest of all time with all due respect.
Kissing 😂
Lmao kissing shd be kissin😂😂
Valentina?
4:10 usually the best part of this masterpiece... this time it's incredible! What a talented pianist!
True, I love that part so much, it's so joyful and happy and has this kinda childish character to it

What a play! A truly great play. I just came from the same piece by Lang lang so I can appreciate all the more how well Kisssin played out this piece.
