    これは好みですから様々な意見があって良いのですが、私はこのツィメルマンの演奏はスゴく素敵だと思います。他のピアニストの演奏だと、フレーズの弾き方が速すぎて音がちゃんと聞こえないことが多いのです。その点ツィメルマンは敢えて速過ぎないように弾くことで音の運動エネルギーや、調性の移り変わりによる色の変化などが、より聴き手に伝わりやすいように弾いています。素敵です。

      I do believe this is a very good performance, but perhaps "greatest" is pushing it. The point of Chopin is that it should be different for everyone, with the rubato he used in his pieces. There is no one perfect way to play one of Chopin's pieces.

    What a spectacular performance. I am always deeply moved by Zimerman's tone, expression, and technique. His style is so "crisp", by which I mean that every note is audible and precise. Nothing is hidden. I think Chopin himself would applaud Zimerman.

    • @richpersoff4080

      +Steven Yourke Mr. Zimerman brings ( or brought, certainly) his own piano actions, which he himself tunes and whose action he adjusts note by note before a concert, according to what he will be playing. So I would give him credit for "tone", in addition to his masterful playing..

    • @mdg140
      @mdg140 6 лет назад +5

      That is a very good way of describing the performance. It's challenging, though always a pleasure to see a combination of technique (playing each note clearly in rhythm, etc.) and expression (using rubato and changes in dynamics to bring out an emotive effect).

    • @dennisdougherty7538
      @dennisdougherty7538 5 лет назад +2

      @@syourke3 Sorry Steven, but if you take two pianists on this instrument they will SOUND different. The biggest help for their tone and expression is to NOT tune Equal Temperament but with a "genuine" tuning and at a better concert pitch like C128Hz. This is one reason why Arsentiy Kharitonoff's "Russian Triptych" CD helped to raise him above all other pianists.

    I had heard piano players say the name of this piece so many times that one day I decided that I to play this video. From the first time I saw it, I loved it. I used to listen to this almost constantly, and it quickly became my favorite music. Every night, I'd sit down at my desk to write, at my couch to relax, and even at my dining table, and I would put this video on to listen to. Eventually, my education became too much and I forget about it completely.
    I listened to this tonight for the first time in a long time. I had always thought people were being overdramatic when they said that a song made them cry, but I can honestly say that for the first time in my life, after remembering how everything was when I listened to this, a piece of music gave me tears. • @ankauppi
    @ankauppi 3 года назад +12

    Yes, I dare to say that this performance of the b flat minor scherzo is the most satisfying for me out of all the other ones I have found and heard. Zimmerman has real character and a strong backbone in his spirit. Real self-restraint and control to bring out this remarkable form and structure of Chopin. In addition to the structural visualization and understanding the player needs here to portrait a sense of a lived life, a real person living through this piece. Here is the difficulty, it is a master-form but at the same time it is a story with human emotions and happenings. But Zimmermann
    can do both. Compare with other pianists, they always distort the pulse and Zimmermann does not distort it. And in order to manage this he has to have real piano technique. For the sense of the lived life he has the tone to sing it out. This piece always reminds me that my strong opinion is that Chopin as well as Schubert, were much greater musical architects than Beethoven, out of whom people for obvious reasons have made such a big number.
    Zimmermanns technique and unyielding strict even pulse is remarkable and gives honour especially to the 2nd Ballade and the 4th Ballade played by him is the very best I have heard. The 4th ballade by Chopin is also a master-form together with a master-story and fantasy, such a combination of different kinds of demands that no human could ever play it here in this kind of a body and circumstances we have now. This is my opinion.

      Lang Lang is a showman, he doesnt have the emotional depth to understand/perform chopin. He is a show off, which means he is good at performing some works like la campanella which have not much musical depth but are very fast and technically challenging

    Definitely the best interpretation. Everybody else plays it too fast. Argerich's is exciting just to see the amazing technique but she misses half the piece along the way. her recording is almost 2 minutes slower. I love her but not for this. Zimerman and Rubinstein for Chopin for sure.

    • @retrogamerdave362
      @retrogamerdave362 8 лет назад +1

      +Jonathan Wallach if you think Argerich is fast, try Dmitri Sgouros, haha! His recording clocks in at under 8 minutes. He has a fantastic technique but I think he just got bored with the literature because it was too easy for him. www.sgourosmp3.com/chopinscherzo2.php

    • @jondavwal13
      @jondavwal13 8 лет назад +1

      +retrogamerdave well if you're going to be interested in this music based on how hard it is to play I don't know if I'd call you a musician. I've been playing this piece since I was 9. I don't play it faster now because it's easier. If anything I play it slower because there's more to discover.

    • @retrogamerdave362
      @retrogamerdave362 8 лет назад +2

      +Jonathan Wallach that is my point exactly: sgouros has had a spotty career and in times past has shown little investment in the music. but now that he has matured a few decades, he has come back with much more humanity in his playing than when he was a young man.

      'The best interpretation'
      I don't think you know the meaning of interpretation

    • @KevinElamMusic
      @KevinElamMusic 4 года назад +1

      Totally agree. Just came from hearing Martha's version, and although I was absolutely FLOORED by her literal speed, she actually did miss several notes, and the clarity of her right hand arpeggios was completely drowned down by the thundering left hand. (And I have studied and performed this piece). Now maybe that's something that she smoothed out as she got older and matured. But at least from what I see on RUclips, Zimmerman has the superior interpretation and execution.

    I've been playing Chopin since I was 12, so that's 36 years. Always try my best but I can never get it to quite sound like it sounds in my head. Zimerman always makes me feel at peace and also jealous when I listen to him, because he generally plays these pieces exactly as I'd want to play them if I had the skill. So many beautiful sounds that Chopin wrote, so many little touches that he put into his pieces with such care. Most professional pianists seem to speed over them or don't recognize them for the gems they are. Zimerman seems to cherish them, and so many little things come through. I've listened to his ballades and to this recording so many times now.

    There are three roles that must be played in this revolution. Those who spread the truth, those who defend the race, and those who continue the race (having children). Where most people misunderstand is that all three of these must be performed by everyone to the best of his ability. There has been little done when it comes to defending the European race.
