Love the setup bud. The newer versions of the Ascend Kayaks are sweet. Way better than the version I bought 6 years ago. Love the modifications too. I may have to order the Yak Attack tool extensions.
You won’t be disappointed, so far I like all there yak stuff.
Man I love your setup on The Kayaks. I am the same way with my kayak clean and simple. With a few mods to my kayak I am happy with the setup. I like that leash system buy yak attack I need to get me one and I love your milk Crate man. That was an awesome set up you done. I just added rod holders and a kayak carrier holder to my milk crate for my bad shoulder. I love how you have your milk crate lockdown too. Good video man keep up the good work.
Loved you video. Gives me a lot of ideas for my 10T, Thanks
Wow...First time I have seen one of your videos and I am really impressed by your kayak. I mean it is not the most expensive kayak out there but who cares? I mean you are gonna get the job done and you will have a ton of money left for baits, rods, etc! The thing that I love about your setup is the fact that it is very very clean and simple. I am selling my bass boat right now (hopefully, no bites yet) and when it sells I am going full speed ahead into competitive kayak angling- It looks way way cheaper than regular bass boat competitions.... My two sons want to compete, they are ages 10 and 12- so I might buy a couple of these boats for them. I do actually plan on getting a Nucanoe Pursuit with Pivot drive, it appears to me to be the most serious competition kayak you can get ( I think its a better value than the Hobie...) Anyway- My best summer time bait? Thats a no brainer. I fish a double zulu rig all the time, with a little twist that makes it unstoppable. If you are not familiar with a double zulu rig, it also goes by "the donkey rig" KVD has a great video on it...Its just a pair of flukes together, when you twitch them they go in opposite directions, they dart back and forth all over the place, so really instead of bringing in a bait and having that one bait move in a straight line, the two baits go back and forth in a wide path about 3 feet wide...And for the added cherry on top? I pour my own fluke rigs in the garage- I make the belly of the bait clear/whitish and the back of the bait is like a brown.green pumpkin, which matches the local minnows PERFECTLY in my local river- Then I put two stick on eyes on them and dip the head in clear plastic- and it looks 100% like a real minnow- You can not tell the difference. It is the best presentation I have ever come up with and bass will nail it when nothing else works- And I rig them texas style, so I fish them in weeds, sticks, etc.... Totally deadly!!! Anyway thank you again for sharing your rad kayak setup, I love it! God bless you and I will look for more of your videos!
Thanks for watching, been moving down south to Alabama. Hope to start the season off with new videos in a new place. I love kayak fishing, every catch is so much fun. It really brings a competitive edge to the sport because your limited on to what to bring. I would definitely recommend going with a 12 foot or bigger when you do buy. Thanks for watching!
Nice idea on the strap downs!
I've heard people using wooden dowels through the scupper holes as a makeshift power pole without the power part of the deal! I just got the 12t and plan to do some upgrades myself, one of the 1st will be added a trolling motor since I'm handicap and can't do the paddling all day long.
The trolling motor would do you good on that boat and there is a few videos out there on how they did it. Wooden dowels, golf clubs with head cut off, fiber glass safety flag poles work good as well.
Awesome Thanks! Watching the Create Video Next. After watching your videos, I am purchasing a 10T used for $300, but I am stoked about it. You get to TN look me up. I have no clue about lures yet.
You won’t be disappointed! This winter I’ll do a lot of talking about lures and fishing rigs.
I got a step in 10 foot ascend. I like this one better. But still like what I got, gotta do the milk crates
The crates are the best thing I’ve done yet.
Subscribed... u hooked me up with some tips at fish brain.... 🤘
Thanks for the sub!
Looks like a good setup brother.
Thanks!
Yo daddy have me a 10T and I love it it’s April and I’m using a yellow rooster tails and spinner baits
It’s been a good little boat for me
Where did you get that fancy little metal hog tough holder? Love your setup!
Amazon
How did you make the straps for your crate? I love that idea I’m using hose clamps on my 10t
You can get the webbing and clips at Joan fabrics or even Amazon. Loop around d rings that was equipped on kayak.
Ok thanks! I know you said it’s strong... but I attach my pvc outriggers to my milk crate on my kayak. Do you think the straps would hold up against that kind of force?
Definitely will hold
How much did it cost brand new?
If we are talking the kayak, it is 459.99 at Cabela’s and basspro. Out the door and tax just under 500$.
@@yakdaddyoutdoors9249 i paid same for the step in model.... this may be my second one .haha
whats the leash called for your grippers on the website?
They are sold at Walmart also and I can’t remember for the life of me what they are call.
What length paddle do you use ?
I believe it’s a 240
