      @Dixen Herize Stop polishing and smoothing out your brain then and realize users edit the War Thunder wiki which is why most pages have gone years without being updated.

    My biggest issue is that in WT you grind through WWII Destroyers and Cruisers to post-WWII Cruisers and then you get slapped by pre-WWI Battlesships.
    Unlike in WoWs where you have Destroyers, Cruisers, Battleships and Carriers advancing parallel and fighting together.

      That's true. It's basically a hierarchy of ships in WT where bigger guns means that you're better. I think they're doing this because, unlike World of Warships, WT is going to go into the modern age and, as such, they probably think that the most modern vehicles, like missile cruisers and whatever else, would end up being like an M3A3 Bradley vs a Tiger II. Assuming the Yamato is added in the future, it would probably end up being like the Maus, where it dominates and/or is difficult to kill, but would get annihilated when new weapons are introduced. I think that, for now, WT's tech tree is a bit "meh" for naval, but I think that it will eventually pan out once we get to semi-modern ships something in the next half century, haha. I'm just stoked for the Bismarck and Alaska.

      You also forget that WOW has Hit points and not modeled damage, so it's easy to balance

      @@Tankenstein That and in reality a cruiser can't take on a battleship and win without either a incredibly lucky hit or a torpedo hit.

      @@salpal30 the other aspect is that destroyers and cruisers are meant to support battleships in artillery engagements. The battleship is the one that’s doing most of the damage while the smaller ships go after what they know they can take down, such as other destroyers and cruisers, as well as carriers and subs if they get the chance.
      Destroyers started to see secondary roles as anti-submarine ships when carriers came into the picture. Sometimes they would also be anti-aircraft ships, for example, Sumner has dual purpose artillery that can be used against air targets OR surface targets.
      I think there is a way to integrate battleships and cruisers/destroyers, but the way to do that also requires DRASTICALLY reworking how naval battles are fought.

      @@thatcarguydom266 nice breakdown but the destroyers got there secondary role atleats for the US and England during the battle of the Atlantic. They needed ships that could provide support for the lend lease convoys that the german u-boats were destroying at a very high rate.
      Destroyers always had a support role as part of the fleet, wether it was part of a battleship group or carrier group. This along with cruisers and other various support ships.

    Spawn in destroyer in a map that's just big open circle. Wait until a cruiser kills you while your shells do nothing. Pretty much my experience after getting above 4.0.
    The excitement of just lobbing shells back and forth from 15 miles away until someone gets lucky is too much for me.

      yep im just getting sniped in my 5.0 ships by dreadnoughts while i cant do shit and need to hope for a torpedo kill i was so excited for naval but when i gotten to higher br's it became trash also the AA is just pin point accuracy you cant even get within 5km witout doing excessive manouvring and even then you have a high chance to die

      @@katze405 destroyers can kill battleships, you just need to spread your shots well. You also need to AT LEAST use semi-AP in order to punch through the armor on battleships and cruisers, as well as US and some German destroyers.
      You also need to remember that naval is a much more drawn out mode. It takes a lot more punishment to kill your enemy than in any other gamemode. So once you’ve got your enemy dialed in, spread your shots out to try and get good coverage. This will significantly cut their crew numbers down and also slow their rate of fire over time.
      From there, start trying to go for engines, the bridge, fuel tanks, ammunition stores, etc.

      @@katze405 you should watch old war footage of planes trying to come at ships with good AA. There isn't much of a difference. Plus your just one plane they have to concentrate on unlike maybe a squadron of planes .I know grinding the US naval tree wasn't that difficult for me. The US destroyers have some nice AP shells especially the Wilkinson and its premium sister ship which have AP pen of 204mm bc they are more modern and they shoot way faster. A Little trick I figured out, if a ship is moving in whatever direction aim 7 to 10 km in front of that direction to compensate for time and distance traveled. I.E if ship is 7.92km away from you and moving towards you shoot for 7.86 to 7.82. Same logic for any direction of travel. Also once your range finder determines a range aim for a little behind or a little in front of the green arrow and you have a very good chance of hitting the ammo storage of the bow or aft of the ship.

    there is a lot of issues with navel but the 1 thing i like about it is in AB you still got the point system like RB, so after spending your 3 free lives you can spawn a plane you brought with you to rank up air units or spawn in a random one the game gives you, this system i wish they would bring to AB ground.

    Been playing naval for a few weeks now, and a couple of things we need, are spawn protection, lower RP costs and a limit to top tier coastal ships in beginner games.

    I love war thunder overall, but for naval I like WoWs more. At least for now. I find there is a bit of a learning curve with the aiming system coming from WoWs, but I will get better the more I play. The increased elevation when you zoom is a great feature I miss as well as the shell camera.
    Edit: Also the tech trees are very empty. I would like to see a line for destroyers, cruisers, battleships, carriers, subs, etc. for each nation. But it is still early and I expect that to change.

      I find aiming in WT MUCH easier. I don't know why but it just works better for me. I find it frustrating in WoWS trying to predict where the target will be by the time my shells arive. I have to calculate shell travel time, target direction and speed. That's three parameters.
      In WT the only thing i need to do to score reliable hits is to calculate the lead and aim lower or higher depending on the distance to the target. If the distance is closing, i aim lower. If it's opening i aim higher. if it's steady i aim right at the waterline. That's two parameters. In practice it's just one parameter because it's stupid easy to know if you need to aim lower

      yea the tech tree feels empty. they should add more variation like more ship, ship subclass (akatsuki-class for example), and changes on armament during service

      Plus the commenter was talking about WoWs and you can see just how many Japanese DD there are and they're quite similar to each other

      Shell camera is a bad idea. I would, instead, adding a captain mechanic. Having a crew member called captain, able to determine always better the distance, enemy speed and even giving better advises where to shoot your shells and where to lead your aim. But not a camera telling me where to shoot at directly. Overall in realistic

    In the last month I’ve played only blu water fleet and I’m having fun most of the times.
    Real problems
    1)layout of some maps: you spawn literally in front of the enemy with no cover, how is this supposed to be fun?
    2) the cost for some ships is insane. Who is actually going to spend that time to unlock some coast fleet vessels? It’s absurd

    Also, it seems like the matchmaking implies that destroyers become unviable at top BR, even though more realistically, the destroyers should still be useful.

    I play naval battles exclusively in war thunder, I came from world of warships and haven’t looked back. I personally love the naval gameplay here in war thunder, it feels so fun and the pace/scale is perfect. My only complaint is the lack of ships/maps available but other than that my personal opinion is that compared to world of warships (a game I played for years and enjoyed until I discovered war thunder naval) this game is very good. I don’t really feel the grind as for compared to world of warships you can grind a tech tree with your favorite ship and your not forced to play with a ship you don’t like in order to advance. I also really like how theirs no HP bar which makes it much more fair and balanced when it comes to how damage is applied and lastly I really like how planes don’t dominate in ship battles. Planes pose a threat as they should however they don’t decide every battle unlike world of warships where planes can single handedly decide the outcome of every battle no matter what.

      Have you bought any premium ships? Anything you would recommend getting?
      Also, try out costal ships if you haven't already, they provide a breath of fresh air after playing with the slower large ships

      @@reimuhakurei2208 I’ve played costal and blue water fleet exclusively since I got war thunder 3 months ago (haven’t played tanks or planes just costal and blue water) and honestly I’ve had an absolute blast. I bought two premium ships cause I got a coupon in a box and it was so cheap that I thought it was worth it and I honestly think they are worth it. I’ve made literally millions of silver lions and progressed through entire trees of ships in only 3 months. I can’t speak for other game modes but naval makes me so much silver and so much research that I honestly don’t feel the grind that most people talk about. The two premiums I got were a German costal ship called the Type M and a British blue water called J flotilla leader. Both are so good and so fun the play for me personally.

      I really enjoy naval bottles, too. I'm extremely excited for ships like the Bismarck and Alaska. I'm looking forward to them just as much as the F-14 and as much as when I was just about to unlock the Tiger H1. I think if they dropped the average match time by 5-9 minutes without reducing the score earned in each match, it would get many people to play. If I could earn 10k RP with a premium account consistently in a 12-16 minute match as opposed to a 17-25 minute match, I'd be very happy.

      @@Tankenstein they can't make matches shorter, it takes time for big ships to move around, and if you spawn them closer you just have more people exploding right after they spawn in, if they'd fix the maps so you had large islands between the spawns that you could shoot over then it would be ok to have them spawn closer. They need to fix the damage model as well and get rid of the not enough crew to repair mechanic, it's 100% a garbage mechanic.

    Honestly the main reason that I don't play naval is that for me, I've spent my time and money on tanks and planes, so I don't have the time so start an entirely new mode. For me, I love tanks and planes and I would rather play those than the slow paced gameplay of naval. However, if gaijin improves the rewards and speeds up the game mode, I would be very willing to give it a shot (or should I say, a broadside?).

    RP gain is what prevents me from playing Naval
    i really want to play Naval, but it just feels like a waste of time compared to making actual progress in other modes/tech trees.

    The RP problem is the biggest issue. I just started getting into naval a few days ago, having avoided it for the RP issues until I started to get tired of ground and air.
    On my first day of playing, in a single rank 1 Naval RB game I got 4 assists on destroyers, captured a point, and took out one or two planes, and got less than 1000RP as a result (I think I got 800)
    Just today I had my best match ever, killing 5 destroyers, getting assists on 2 or 3, taking out 2 planes and 1 or two gunboats, **and** we won the match. As a result, I only got 1800RP.
    If I did that well in ground or air I would have gotten at least twice that. It's ludicrous. I really enjoy naval so far, but Holy crap is the RP so frustrating, especially when some reserve tier vehicles (*ahem town-class) are really bad compared to their counterparts.

      Same here. The income is by far the biggest issue of War Thunder in general. Not only the RP but SL as well. Vehicles are expensive to buy, and income becomes worse and worse the higher you go up the tree.
      It's not a game anymore, it's a full time job. That is, if you want to get to the good stuff. If you're a casual, you HAVE to spend a LOT of money to get both premium account and premium vehicles. Or you can just try to have "fun" playing low-mid tiers with no ambitions to go higher.

    Ya, once you get into light cruisers, naval just feels slow. Most light cruisers have a much slower rate of fire and top speed while being forced to spawn at the furthest point on a map in the middle of open water. Naval also have the dumbest game mode, conquest. Just stay in a giant circle with zero cover and hope your teammates aren't dumb enough to travel in a straight line for more then a minute. Got uptiered on one of those maps once and it took my team of destroyers and light cruisers 5 minutes to kill a USS Baltimore. I think it just ended up burning to death. Then there's the stock grind. A light cruiser with no parts or fpe gets disabled after the first turret shot and is useless even if the fire goes out on it's own. You can't even repair your turrets in an allied strategic point. That coupled with the high rp costs on everything and the low rp gains, there really isn't any incentive for me to stop using my overpowered USS Porter.

    I'd like to see multiple people crewing one ship. One person shooting the secondaries and the AA for example. Maybe 1 person doing the gunnery and a third one moving. Would incentivize communication too! But I imagine most gamers would disagree with me here. I don't know, it works wonders in certain military sim-type games like World War 2 Online or Project Reality.
    Also potentially make the ships a bit more agile than they were in real life?

    Biggest issue is map desings, some (maybe lots) of them start with ships too far away, or with little or no possibility to change course to another point, making the game too slow.

    they need to get rid of the crew mechanic, ships never have sunk due to a lack of crew, needs to be a system that slows your repair or deflooding rate. lower the crew longer the repair and longer it takes to patch holes and fix flooding, thats how it should work

    Repair Costs for coastal boats are terrible at times. On top of that you spawn in, get shoved on a large map then get one shotted by a destroyer!!!

    Yesterday I started playing naval and thought damn this gameplay is amazing. Then after I realised that with 4 matches where I played pretty well got as much RP progress as half a match in air or ground I said "nope, I'll just play to get the cool naval soviet portrait and leave".

      Idk how but I get about 5k minimum RP per naval battle and about 30k silver lions, have reaserched almost the entire Japanese and German naval trees with only playing about 1-2 times a week for a couple hours so I feel like I gain a lot more progress than tank or air battles

    You are missing the elephant in the room. Air and ground vehicles through the 1980s are available where as top tier naval ships are still primarily from the 1940s. We are missing 4 decades of naval technology. Battleships were obsolete by 1942 but they are the primary focus of war thunder naval. They should have added aircraft carriers, submarines and missile boats instead of battleships.

    Yes it is very under rated but I use it to grind silver lions plus ITS SO GOOD and I hope in the future they add more ships like after Wyoming you get uss teaxs

    I have a few issues with WT's naval even now.
    I think the biggest problem in my eyes is that there is no incentive to really play anything else besides Battleships and Battlecruisers.
    Especially with how weak Aircraft are in Naval. Most ships can just eliminate any aircraft before they can attack, just by allowing secondaries to fire at aircraft.
    Like that could be a great way to integrate smaller ships, is by adding Aircraft Carriers and Submarines, ship classes that can take on battleships, by just simply being out of their guns.
    But for that they need to nerf AA. Like genuenly, make the AI AA suck. If you can't focus the planes yourself, you're gonna have a bad time. But an escort can help with that.
    You can't really depth charge a Submarine, but a DD Escort can deal with that for you.
    What I fear about this is that Naval turns into a fest of flames. You play Bismarck, enemy sub kills you, time to send the DDs to go and unalive themselves.
    But in general, that's the two things I really want to see in War Thunder's Naval.
    Top Tier with different Ship Classes working together.
    And IJN Kaga ( after her 1936 rebuild)

    Now that they split the trees, I wish they would enable the ability to earn blue water RP with coastal ships especially when you have completed researching the entire coastal fleet and now all your research is wasted until they add more coastal boats.

      The coastal/bluewater split did more harm than good
      Now you get uptiered to fight reserve DDs in your coastal boat and it's genuinely unfair.
      Sure there are some nations like Italy, Germany and Russia with amazing top tier coastal ships that absolutely slaughters DDs, but there are nations like Japan and UK with utterly worthless top tier costals that have like one third of the dmg potential of a reserve DD.

      When i saw that I had the entire US coastal tree researched, but nothing ion bluewater, I just quit naval. Can't say I missed it much. I LIKE the ships, but the grind seems so overwhelming that I just don't want to deal with it.

    Yo, if this gets anywhere in warthunder or if Gaijin gets to hear this, back up boats/ships for reserve boats/ships aren't usable/convertible. Somehow Gaijin frequently gives us back ups for those reserve boats that don't need them, like a huge middle finger...a good idea is that you could allow a 4th or 5th respawn on the reserve boats that have the unusable back ups in place of spawning in planes, or stop giving the reserves back ups and instead giving universal back ups or back ups to higher tier boats instead. Though Naval is as good as dead now, I think these changes will help breathe some life back into it.

    And don't forget that naval combat is more complex than ground or air combat. For "balanced" naval combat you need all three (or even four) classes in the same battle. Each class posing a threat for another class. DD>BB>CL>DD. If you add Submarines in the mix or other subclasses like Battlecruisers or heavy cruisers it gets even more complex. So in order for Naval mode to actualy WORK, we will have to wait for Gaijin to fill up the tech trees based on era and allow all classes to join in the same battle.

    When submarines are added, pt boats destroyers, become really important to naval, also missile frigates destroyers, could have naval attack helicopters, and jets, it's good really, just takes time.

    There already exist a fix for naval. Its called Naval EC gamemode but its only available a few times per year. Also match length is fine its just the RP gain and SL gain. (also coastal vessels ruin the domination gamemode as such Naval EC is the only real playable & gun naval mode).

    Ye for sure most people don't get the aiming mechanic properly and say it's broken. It does have a logic to it. Kinda feel submarine gameplay will be even more slowly paced. Because of the speed of the sub and limited weapons. Talking about WO2 subs here.

    We need a way to balance both coastal naval and bluewater naval because it fucking sucks getting destroyed by reserve destroyers in your top tier costal boat
    Honestly the coastal and bluewater split did more harm than good

    Agree, naval matches take way to long and are quite boring in my opinion. Now imagine playing naval as aplayer thats already annoyed with big ground battle maps

    Like big ship spawn at approx 30 km of the enemy team, lets time to set-up and plan your game (little ship can have there playground, with much closer spawn)!

    rage quitting teammates is an issues they always wanted to sail as large vestels if they get blown they don't equip coastals for some reasons

    I joined War thunder primarily as a tanker with no inclination towards anything air.
    I went to air because gaijins carrot and stick policy. Playing tanks was expensive, but gaijin solved that problem by forcing you to play Air Rb and I, as a f2p player, obliged. I started making millions of SL with no premium account or premium plane. Fast forward to now and I'm a pilot first.
    In any case, gaijin needs to kite players towards naval by giving generous SL rewards. You'll see naval explode in popularity. Wows players are happy to dump WG products but they need good word of mouth from us. I can't recommend naval to a wows player if the grind is THIS bad.

    My issue with Naval combat is that they need to have bigger XP for unlocking ships and they need to balance the game more with ww2 era ships and cold war era ships.

    World of tanks has average online of 500-600k, whereas as all of warthunder (ground+planes+ships) have around 45k.
    11 times less players

    I agree about the RP gain in naval being too slow. but SL, not at all. I typically make 100k - 200k SL per game. It is my go to game mode for SL farm. but I admit, i do it only by torpedo spam, it works and it is a bit busted. they need to increase SL rewards for actually shooting people and doijng other thijngs, but they won't they will probs just nerf torps lol.

    I like longer modes, EC, for example, is one of my favourite and I’m puzzled as to why it’s so limited. But the grind in naval is ridiculous and that’s after the reductions several months ago. I only bother playing the odd naval game, particularly now that it’s almost a requirement for the battle pass (typical snail disrespect of the players, but what ya gonna do?) - but I almost exclusively play premiums. As discussed here, there is too little difference between ships of the same class, nothing like the differences between different nations’ planes or tanks. As I play so rarely, if I have two premiums at a BR I just drop a backup or two on them and the grind doesn’t exist for me in naval. I have a lineup at 2.3, 3.something and a couple at 4.3. This gets me my full naval fix.

    I know this is a somewhat old video, but you seem pretty good at Naval at least to me.
    My big question is why some ships (Even In the same ship type and tech line) have such a huge difference in reward modifiers.
    Like take for example the reward difference when going from the Kaiser to the Bayern. one has a 900% SL bonus (With prem acc) the other 345%.
    Is the Bayern just that good compared to the Kaiser?
    It seems kind of rediculous to me that 2 tech tree vehicles have such a huge difference when they are subsequent vehicles, in the same line.

    Besides the fact that i earn nothing in naval. To me the major problems in this game mode are 2:
    1) it is mainly based - aa you said - on bigger and bigger guns. Meaning that this induces people into sniping and not playing coordinately or woth strategy. People just camp shooting like nubs and it is super boring. If you enter with a 1.0 ship or you get uptiered, your chances are very low to survive cause you nearly have no chance to approach the target.
    2) the AAA are WAY TOO POWERFUL. Gunners are compiter-managed and are too op ! It is almpst impossible to dive bomb without serious damage or even to make a fast attack at 10m altitude with a bunch of 12mm or 20mm on low tier ships. Enemy gunners are deadly even at 1km away ! And - in a plane - you are effective at 600m more or less. I would like to see gunner having low effect at 1000m, medium at 500m and strong at 200m (with a variable of distance and angle of attack). Rendering dive bombing possible or even torpedos an option. And also make sea mines effective ! Useless in naval amd op in grb lol
    And finally. Add submarines. No carriers cause nobody will ever play the boring carrier sailing around i think

      The main reason I want subs is not because I want to play them particularly, but because I want to engage in battle of the Atlantic style anti-sub warfare. Asdics, sonar, depth charges, and boats such as HMS Stork and HMS Starling would all make fantastic additions to wt naval, and would add a whole new aspect to game modes like enduring confrontation. Which incidentally should be a game mode that is always available, it's so fun

    I like to play war thunder naval but it literally takes 5 minutes to get into ONE match. But is very fun I always try to go cumacazi on a destroyer with a pt boat if I have any more spawnpoints left but there guners always find me.

    I think that much like WoWs warthunder naval should have parallel progression like the Yamato would be accompanied by Tone and Akebono rather than Hyuga,
    I think in order to balance this map designs needs to be changed. Like make the maps absolutely massive the point where even at full steam in the fastest battleship you couldn’t make it to the other teams spawn so they actually fight at battleship range. I think balancing Dreadnoughts is as simple as making their guns slightly less accurate at long range along with making air power a bit more central to the gameplay since most dreadnoughts have little if any AA.

      I've actually wanted to make it a video for quite some time on how to shoot accurately in naval. The first video wasn't my best show of accuracy, but I still did okay. For the video, I've been trying to figure out a way to explain what I'm doing but, thus far, it's been difficult to explain, for me, at least.

      @@flak8842 just keep trying and you'll understand, for boats you not only have to know the enemy ship trajectory, but also your own.
      For example, if you and the enemy ship are both sailing at the same speed in the same direction, aim directly at him.
      If you're going faster than the enemy ship, aim a bit behind him
      If you're going slower than the enemy ship, aim a bit in front of him.
      If the enemy ship is going to the opposite direction that you're going, aim all the way to where he is going and make sure you almost don't see the enemy ship on your telescope
      If you still find this too hard, try out coastal ships instead where aiming mistakes are much more forgiving

    Aiming is the biggest turn off for me. In Arcade they should have something similar to the aircraft lead-in indicator so that layers can understand the mechanics of aiming.

      use the line of the scope.
      if the enemy in the same direction aim closer to crosshair
      if they coming point the top of the line to the enemy
      and the opposite

    one of my main gripes with WT naval is how I feel the game really incentivizing me to spend money on a premium. the ratio of repair costs for the tech tree to their premium counterparts is sickening on top of the fact they print far more SL and RP then the tech tree equivalent. I get they're premium and there should be an increase in those values but holy shit for a few bucks you can pick up a moffett and some back ups and never have to worry about money ever again. and, thanks to that, I see lobbies full of moffetts, Eugens, and Helenas and it's gotten to the point where there's so little ship diversity at times it makes the already abysmal grind even more mundane as not even the targets are changing.

    Add Air capture points. Naval honestly isn’t to bad & no more luck based on getting killed than Tank Rb sometimes and it’s way harder to aim and take points. HOWEVER. It’s extremely extremely boring to play and you fix that imo by adding two air capture points. Reduce torpedo damage . With that being said torpedo release should be on a timer but given much better speeds. Spawn teams in spread out in a straight line. Lower spawn points for aircraft. This would make it a much more fast paced game mode and encourage players to get in it or get into aircraft to end the match.

    Love naval combat, and love the ability to play with bots in custom matches. But yes unlocking ships is painful...Still it's faster for me than ground or air cause I can't survive well enough to even begin getting kills in those ones unless I get really lucky x_x

    You're worried about camouflages for ships when the tech trees are a disaster, RP gains is abysmal, balance is non-existent, planes are near useless due to laser guided AI, horrible server lag in naval sim battles, garbage damage models, bare bones penetration mechanics and a overall lack of player-base for the game mode??? This game mode should be closed to the general player-base for another year to work out these crimes against humanity.

    I just don’t feel like playing it, rn I’m grinding out italy’s navy just for the battlepass then I’ll probably drop it If/when they add more cold war ships or a carrier system I can take off in a A-4 from I’ll look back into it. If they spent the next update trying to improve the game mode it might get a bigger player presence but they would have to add submarines for a permanent player base

    I dont mind war thunder naval at the moment, currently farming USS Somers using USS Sumner, and getting more kills than I did starting with Barker or Litchfield, given BR is always feeling a bit unbalanced and facing against destroyers or any vehicle 1 almost 2 BR higher

      I waited for a sale and I love it. As I haven’t ground that far, I only rarely play it as I need to use backups to get a lineup but it is, IMO, probably the most beautiful ship in the game.

    yea but does the average player get 5 kills 5 assists every game they play. WT just cant balance anything. the boosters on the top tier warships are only like 200% which doesn’t even make sense cuz the ships take like 200K rp to unlock

    I don't agree that the matches are too long. The matches are too short, and ship-to-ship combat is decided by who ammo-racks the other faster.
    The X-ray is misleading. Don't use that. To check a ship reload, always use the Crew tab, because X-ray only shows an approximate number.
    Your CV, sub suggestion does not make sense. You want everybody to spawn closer, so your CV will be annihilated in seconds, because all the players will target the most vulnerable enemy. Subs don't make sense. They are extremely slow.
    You can buy user-made skins from crates that is visible for everyone. I don't understand you here, really.

    WOWS has a way better research tree. You dont need to grind destroyers to play battleships. Battleships should not be "a top tier", they are a class of ships who play fundamentally different from for example destroyers and cruisers. All ship classes should be their own "trees" and you should be able to begin researching battleships or cruisers from early on. WOWS does it perfectly

    Dude world of warships doesn't hold a candle to WarThunders Naval. I love you BOOM of the cannons in War thunder and the attention to detail. World of Warships has lame thud sounds and all of the guns don't have models manning them also little damage detail. I do however feel like the maps should be larger in war thunder Naval because I get attacked by fresh spawns right after coming out of an intense battle.

    By "no radar" you mean surface radar, right? Because quite a few ships have aircraft radar

      No they don't. Most USN RN destroyers and cruisers have air search radar even modeled in the game but it's not usable. The fletcher for instance is a good example, the post war Battle Class destroyer is another.

      I have a video about it, but basically, I just got into a 2.7 BR German coastal vessel (S-100, I think?) and snuck up on a reserve destroyer from behind an island, came up beside that ship, and, when I started passing it, I dropped the charges and took it out.

      I did essentially what Tankenstein did. Took a fast coastal boat, hid near the spawn, (in RB because no icons, easier to hide) and came up behind a enemy, shot them up enough to damage them without killing them and dropped my charges. It took me quite a few attempts before I got it done.

    As a previous World of Warships player, I find the naval battles for war thunder very clunky and unrewarding. The most fun I had in a naval match was flying a plane and bombing ships. The tier system makes no sense and the torpedo system is mostly garbage.

    I love ships more than any other form of transport, but this gamemode is just so weird and boring that I dont even want to play it - even if it gave 2x more RP than air and ground. Not to mention - who decided to split coastal to a separate category? I litterally cant find a match even on the lowest BR, where the game is ok with giving the teams 80% of bots. I waited for like 5 minutes before giving up :D In tanks/air and even bluewater, I get in within a minute.

      Set scroll wheel to your distance in the sight, then when you lock on to a target and they are at an angle that is closing the distance scroll down at least 500m to count for the target moving when you fire. When moving faster than an opponent and they are coming for you (head-on) aim to the left so your rounds hit the target. I suggest going into test sail and practicing on the enemies there

    All honesty the RP,SL rewards versus the SL repair bull crap hinders most people's motivation to invest much into this game. Same as what happened to current World of Warcraft. Why punish your player base if your main objective as a business is to peel money out of your consumers pockets, not force them to spend money and punish them.
