Train Sim World (PS4) - The First Three Lessons

- Thank you to everyone at Dovetale Games for sending me a copy of Train Sim World for the PS4. In this introductory video I take a look at the first three tutorials, drive a Class 43 HST, drive a Class 166 DMU, both in GWR livery, and as an added bonus, no one dies!

Yes!! Finally. Train simulator that isn't on a machine that has to spend ages starting up, doing Windows updates, loading Steam and crashing!!

I can start up my laptop (which uses windows) and open train simulator faster than any console could.
I just got this and it’s pritty cool. It’s still a learning process with all the buttons and switches but I really like it. I gotta do more tutorials to figure things out. I’ve tried to run one of the electric trains and it takes a while to get it moving for some reason it won’t start moving after do select the buttons that are prompted, lol
I do say, the trains have excellent slow speed performance, they run so smooth aswell you can barely hear the motor 10/10.
Bit of info for ta on the 166:
Runs on the GWR, Chiltern mainline, and used to operate 'Thames Turbo' services also on great western.
Completely agree tho, when it comes to the HST. Amazing loco, beautiful, iconic design, and fantastic feel
You can get a different camera angle if you push down r3 and then selecting the camera angle you want
Once you are in a different camera angle you will need to press triangle to be able to use the camera controls

Well done. Multiplayer is planned for sometime in the future, but DTG is waiting to implement it until there's more content and therefore more stuff to do in multiplayer sessions.

Not even started the game, not even left the title page and "This is amazing guys". This is why I will never trust a review who gets a free copy, I only trust the opinion of those people who've paid with their own money. simple as that

BR is used on German trains aswell, but instead of "British Rail" it means "Baureihe", which is basically "Class". This BR1442 is a commuter train driving in Leipzig.

Ah, the days when we used to be noobs at this game and we looked at all the controls and clicked on them, dragging the throttle and brake. Now we all use the controller buttons 😂

Fantastic game
The GWR 166 runs on the Reading to Gatwick line through the Surrey Hills
They also out of London on unelectrified routes and in and around Bristol. On the Gatwick Airport to Reading and London services they will be replaced by Class 769s.
Guessing his favourite loco is a mk4 dvt?
I feel like people will try to hijack a few trains after playing this.
if there is a real life timetable in real time actully it be great if you get on as a passenger and go from one station to another

Is it satisfying revving the engine? Like do you feel like you’re in the cab or is it like those 2008 simulators where you basically just feel like you’re in the cab
By sitting in the occupied driver’s seat, you consume his soul, and gain all the knowledge of driving 166s. So you don’t need the tutorial. Nah, seriously I think the developer overlooked this.

29:25 Yes Twyford is an actual station however the car park was modelled incorrectly as there is a crossing from the car park across the track to the station
Oh dear. Maybe they might correct that in an update.
InterCity82 Hopefully and maybe allow us to walk into the car park! It would be useful for people like me who make trainspotting videos on TSW.
I tried to do the second lesson and broke the locomotive twice and caused a runaway train by accidentally taking off the brakes climbing put of the cab to check to see if the tracks were switched correctly

the first BR is the german one. I think it means Baureihe or something like that.

They've improved the program considerably since the original Railworks PC version. The drawback is the high cost of additional routes and trains. A disadvantage of the PC program is that subsequently released routes exceed the system requirements originally required. I think this might eventually be the case with the PlayStation which will not be able to handle subsequently released routes, unless you upgrade to the next model.
Oh yeah that's a very fair comment but for just a bit of casual gaming, with nibbles and some mates, I think it's a very well done job. Bear in mind some people not even have a PC or proper computer but want to try a train sim?

Unfortunately I’m holding off too see the dlc that comes out for it.
I have heard that there is a West Somerset Railway DLC for PC, it will probably be available for console soon. Only downside is that there aren't any steam locos

Idk if anyone else has this problem but the amtrak is glitched. The train does not brake when i do the automatic brake. The normal brake is down but the train still accelerates and the speed limit is displaying the wrong speed.

For cameras or door control use d-pad left or right. Up and down also do controls for something

While it is nice to see the game come to consoles, I do like to play it and I think it looks gorgeous, the thing that bugs me about it is that there isn't much to do, as the emphasis seems to be primarily about running high-speed passenger services.
True, there are some freight runs, but it's mainly point to point stuff and a tiny amount of shunting, no trip working (dropping off and picking up cars at various industries/sidings), and there isn't much variety in locomotives in rolling stock.
The biggest gripes I have with TSW is that there are no steam locomotives and no free roaming. Gotta have some steam and the freedom to play trains instead of religiously running to a timetable.
Wish they'd bring Rolling Line to consoles....
