One thing you didn't mention is that oled screens are incredibly efficient with power. Because the way they reproduce black is by turning off that specific part of the screen rather than showing a black image, the screen consumes energy substantially less compared to LCD screens. This can even be improved tremendously if you pick dark theme in the tablet settings so all the menus are black, and therefore barely any energy is used when navigating menus. The downside being that with the way oled screens work, they use a PWN backlight which can cause a strobing effect to some people with very sensitive eyes and is more likely to cause headaches after prolonged use.
Spen is the difference! In my opinion writing is the most important feature of a tablet. From a creative perspective, two things put me off the Galaxy tab (I’ve owned one before) one, apart from Clip Studio, Android is a bit crap for creative apps. Two, the screen size ratio. My tab s7+ is still working brand new. I use it alot more than phone and streaming is amazing. The 5g connectivity is amazing too. I'm in love with the huge display on the samsung tablets and its far more beautiful and everyone that has seen me with it assumes its an ipad. I'm rooting for the tab s9 series line just based on my experience and other people opinions as well.
I prefer the iPad for several reasons, especially software support. Currently, the software I need, such as DaVinci Resolve, Linearity Curve, Final Cut Pro, etc., is available for the iPad but not on any Android tablet. iPad's native software like Keynote, Pages, and Numbers also perform better than Google Docs.
I have the Tab S9 Ultra and I love it so much! I’ve been upgrading my whole setup and have literally based it around this tablet. I love the S Pen much more than the Apple Pencil… That being said, I did want to try an iPad so I grabbed a Mini 6 and I really like it. I’m kinda trying to justify having it, but it’s great for Journaling and just being a cool and handy little device. I was just going to get a second, smaller Samsung tab S9 11”, but I’m taking this time to try some new things, and as much as I do like Apple, I don’t want to get stuck in that “ecosystem”… I love my options.
The Chrome browser on the Tab S9 does not allow plug ins and is a mobile phone browser. It doesn't render many sites correctly. This is a big problem if you're planning on using a tablet as a substitute productivity device/laptop replacement. I am returning the my Samsung Tab S7 despite how much I like it. Google needs to fix this problem because as is, it's a gimped device.
The benchmark issue is so overrated. Both chips are massively overkill for almost every user. Yes, there is a small niche of users who will push it, but that is a vanishingly small group.
@@Kanal-zh4roi would say samsung updates are good too.. 4 years of os updates mean you will get till android 17 in 2027 and security updates till 2028..which for me already long enough but yeah it still cant beat the ipad software support..
How is it overkill? Tablets are not like phones where people trade them every 2-3 years. I'm expecting to get around 4-5 years out of a tablet. The extra performance comes with insurance that my device will continue to satisfy my needs when apps and updates start getting more demanding over the years.
I have the iPad pro, and while it is a great tablet, I truly wish that it had the AMOLED screen. Also not having expandable storage on the iPad is a real drawback. Thanks for a great review!
Another great comparison, thanks! Both devices appear to be excellent, so this feels a lot like the old Windows vs. Mac argument (i.e., which OS do you prefer?). At the end of the day I think I'd opt for the iPad Pro for the ecosystem and the OS support.
If you want a tablet with a computer performance get the iPad Pro. I got it recently after switching from the galaxy tab s9 and finally I can do multitasking and get some demanding work done. It wasn’t possible with the other one.
I ordered the 11" M1 iPad Pro 3 weeks ago. My 2017 10.5" iPad Pro's screen is falling off, as it had already had a battery and screen replacement before I bought it used. I have a 2015 Macbook Pro I can use if I need a bigger screen. Otherwise I have 2 15.6 " Windows laptops... and 2 x 27" monitors on my main PC... and if I wanna to really big I can just connect to my 50" TV... 😁

Saw your review of S8 vs S7 plus but is it worth buying for 500 dollars(40k Inr)? Esp s7 plus in 2023 as I like the big display.. Really confused.. My main uses are - Watching lectures,Notes, movies&series, photo and video editing at times.. Will the amoled on s7plus last for 4years from now with no issues?
Samsung aspect ratio is better for gaming too, it's the reason I'm switching from my iPad Pro to Samsung. On Samsung, you see more horizontally and for some games, it's a HUGE plus
I have used ipad air 4 and sell it to buy samsung tab s8 because it came with keyboard. From my experience, I love ipad more bacause have better app optimisation from my experience as a student. Samsung is fast but can become laggy for some time. Background app tend to refresh more often on samsung and samsung note can sync with google drive automatically. But, advantages of samsung is it can use 2 whatsapp account.
Absolutely loving my s9 ultra and the wife loves her ipad. They both have their pros and cons, but wow, you just can't beat samsungs display and aspect ratio.
Longevity is better with Samsung. The iOS updates really slow down the iPhone and iPad. Meanwhile the Android updates dont do this. I demoted my old Note 9 from 5 years ago to be my Dex device and I see no lag whatsoever. I had to take a hard pass on trading in the phone for my Fold 3 because it was still so snappy and Dex kept getting better and better. 2 years later the Note 9 and my Galaxy Tab Ultra 8 plus are beasts on Dex mode. Meanwhile our old IPad Pro from 2018, same year as the Note 9, was crawling with white spots on the display. I think thats going to be our last IPad.
I got both the tab s9 ultra and the ipad pro 11. Both good and for watching content, the samsung wins but for anything else…. Ipad FAAAAAR superior. M2 chip rocks and i LOVE using the pen and the hover feature to draw on it. Feels super premium
Great video as always. I know you can also save a ton of money taking advantage of the trade-in deals the Samsung offers. I'm getting $550 for my Samsung Tab 8. I'm not sure if Apple offers the same types of trade-ins.
The ipad pro (I have gen 3 12.9) hardware including pencil is solid. I used mine with Procreate to create line drawings. I've failed trying to use it for anything like a 'laptop' substitute even with the keyboards. Anytime I want to do something other than consume media, I'm stumped by the file access/ system that makes me go through hoops to open up files with particular apps. I got a NIB Tab s9 ultra for about 55% of RRP and am loving it for the useability. I can arrange/ organize my files as much as I want. I can get apps to open the files on SD card/ usb/ NAS without issue.
after watching your videos i decided to get the tab s9 ultra because i love wide big screen❤ No regrets glad i sold my ipad hahaha samsung dex is 100% useful.
Loved the S9 with the Keyboard. Fantastic device. Unfortunately, I returned two of them due to the wifi not connecting to 6e. I was on the phone for two hours with Samsung Support, and they said to send it back both times. The Internet is full of posts on this issue. Had the same issue with an S23 a few months back, and I sent it back. Ironically, both our S23 Ultra's never had an issue. This bug dates back to 2022, and Samsung has no fix.
I'm an android guy who has owned numerous Samsung tablets, last bought the tab s6 (not lite) and had an ipad pro a few years ago and honestly the tab S6 beat the Ipad Pro in every area except the 2 most important ones. Battery life and app support. I didn't use the pen much on either so I can't compare that. But Google has got to force devs to support tablets otherwise just buy a bigger phone because the blown up phone app on a tablet is such a waste of space and is down right ugly.
Im not very impressed with Samsung delaying my shipment for an extra week but telling me in the email its being shipped early. Its been over 2 weeks and it's not even shipped yet. Disappointed with samsung and their poor customer support, especially their long shipping times. As of right now im going to get my tablet a month after purchasing it.
Hello I'm planning to buy a tablet to use as secondary device for work specifically for digital planning, notes, and digital art/design. Currently deciding to get the s9 but I want the Procreate app. Is there android alternative for procreate?
to sum it up: raw power and performance = ipad pro. everything else = tab s9+. samsung should consider lowering their price a bit, their tab is more appealing (since most users wont need the extra power of M2) but paying more for a weaker processor seems wrong.
i stick with apple's Ipad air 11 inch because im afraid of the OLED and since I draw im worried about screen burn and I dont really want to deal with the hassle of replacing it through warranty or buying a new one.
Very underrated youtuber. Why youtube keeps recommending me same cc? About the devices . I have the option of getting s9+ for 800£. Basically same price as iPad pro11" . Which one? Im ios user and felt android always like press extra 2 clicks in the past?
Which should I get for gaming stuff like Roblox? Just a note, I don’t care THAT much about stuff like pixels (I mean unless it’s as pixelated as an old Nokia or something) I just don’t want it to crash or Lag every 5 minutes
Just something to add here Some apps on ipad, like instagram, still using the phone version on the tablet, and on the s9 it already has the tablet version of the app.
I have a question: I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 & I recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G. Is that a step down since my S7 still runs as good as day one & my S9 FE is considered a mid range tablet & my S7 was a top tier in it's hayday?
Hi, can you please check your S9 Plus on dark room and set your tab on the low brightness, like 5% or below. Did you notice this: 1. Especially if you turn on the 1 tap to show fingerprint area, you will see a line in almost middle of the screen horizontally (landscape position) blink once while also showing the fingerprint area, or when you turn on your tab see before the Samsung logo showing. 2. On your wallpaper, gallery, or video. Did you see a line on top of the image or video? Try a few different picture and video. On the top end of the image or video, not the screen. All of it, most noticeable if you use your tab on full dark room and the lowest brightness. I was complaining this issue to Samsung Service Center, they give me replacement unit. But I found out the replacement unit also have the same issue. I dunno it is hardware issue or software issue, but I just want to make sure if all Tab S9 Plus suffer the same issue?
idk , the iPad has just an LCD screen, but to me looks better than the oled on the Samsung, other than black levels , I'd be curious to see a comparison between the S9 plus and the new iPad pro with the OLED
As an ipad user for more than 2 years, I think it does depends on your situation. Like if you're already in apple ecosystem, your friends, family use apple product, apple is a way to go, and you also get goodnotes on them too. Meanwhile if you dont use them for noting, and no one around you use apple product, samsung is undoubtedly a great choice.
Reasonable.. i use iPhone 14 Pro Max as a phone. Does all what i need from a phone. But, the case with tabs it's different! İ have the S8 ultra. Will never ever replace it with an iPad! It's just wonderful..
In my country (Viet Nam), tab s9+ has the same price as ipad pro 2020 12.9", how do you think about these 2 models? Which one is better for performance in a long run 🤔
The thing is console quality games are possible on iPad Pro m2, given upcoming resident evil 4, resident evil village, assigns creed Valhalla etc announced for iPhone 15 pro models, iPad Pro m1 and m2 and MacBooks with m1 or m2. With iPad we can easily get more than 7 years of software updates and device support and service. This is not true for Samsung’s tabs.
I can also say that AMOLED is AMODEAD if you crack it. A new screen for the iPad will set you back a couple hundred bucks. The Samsung will cost a minimum of $700.
Should i get the m2 ipad pro 12.9 inch or tab s8+ or 9+ , im leaning more towards the ipad because i have had too much android tablets, i already have a laptop and just want a tablet for drawing, Journaling, reading, a few games, longer battery life and software support 😭 please help
I'm writing this from my Tab S7 Plus. It's aging quite well. If I was in the market for a new tablet, I'd absolutely pick the S9 Plus over any Apple tablet. I can't deal with Apple's ecosystem bull.
I used to get 11-12 hours of SOT with my Tab S7 when it was new and I still regularly hit 10 hours with a 2.5 year old battery. I know that the move to AMOLED will make the battery take a hit but on the Tab S9 we have a bigger battery and much more efficient processor so that should cancel out much of the hit. I wouldn't be so unhappy if the new tablet was giving me 10 hours of SOT but to be getting around 8 hours just isn't good enough. Imagine what this thing will be like with a 2 year old battery :-/
To be fair we shouln't compare just the tab s9+ with the ipad, we should compare the price of (tab s9+ and charger) to (ipad + apple pencil + storage)..
00:25 dude is splitting these devices as there would be an actual difference. Difference of ipad pro 11 or 12.9 inch is size, battery, display and speaker. Nothing more. Difference of the galaxy tab s9, s9+ and ultra is camera, size, speaker, camera and battery (notch on s9 ultra)
Tbh im an adroid user for phones but i love the ipad for tsblet form. I would get samsung tab or even consider it.but one thing is holding me back…. Apps. Most important thing is that you got a tablet that works for you. I’m glad you did! I appreciate you for being part of the channel!
Very good video. I enjoy that he talks calm. It seems these days that almost every tech reviewer tries to look hyped.
Thank you for watching - I appreciate the feedback. Thanks for being part of the channel!
I love the S Pen much more than the Apple Pencil…
That being said, I did want to try an iPad so I grabbed a Mini 6 and I really like it.
I think you can change it to open website as desktop mode
Who even uses chrome?
The benchmark issue is so overrated. Both chips are massively overkill for almost every user. Yes, there is a small niche of users who will push it, but that is a vanishingly small group.
Yes, you are right, but it's also about longevity. Along with the long OS updates for the iPad, the power it has makes sense in the long run.
@@Kanal-zh4roi would say samsung updates are good too.. 4 years of os updates mean you will get till android 17 in 2027 and security updates till 2028..which for me already long enough but yeah it still cant beat the ipad software support..
@@kubotite9168 i agree with you
How is it overkill? Tablets are not like phones where people trade them every 2-3 years. I'm expecting to get around 4-5 years out of a tablet. The extra performance comes with insurance that my device will continue to satisfy my needs when apps and updates start getting more demanding over the years.
I have the iPad pro, and while it is a great tablet, I truly wish that it had the AMOLED screen. Also not having expandable storage on the iPad is a real drawback. Thanks for a great review!
why do you wish for amoled?
@@VaibhavPandey-if5uxcuz its so good. Its better than the pros screens.
@@VaibhavPandey-if5uxmuch clearer and pixel density and better blacks for contrast of colors
Another great comparison, thanks! Both devices appear to be excellent, so this feels a lot like the old Windows vs. Mac argument (i.e., which OS do you prefer?). At the end of the day I think I'd opt for the iPad Pro for the ecosystem and the OS support.
We're so lucky to be at a time where there are so many great options.
I have been waiting for your review. Nice as usual. I will go for s9 plus instead of the ultra or the ipad.
Thank you so much for watching! Let me know how the S9+ works out. Thank you for being part of the channel!
Smart decision
Dude I discovered your channwl just two days ago. I think you are the number one at tablet review.
Oh wow - thank you so much. Welcome to the channel!
Nice video man!
One question. Is the back of the tab made of Armor Aluminum or just the corners?
Love from India!❤ Awesome content 👏 I always see your reviews if I buy something or not😂
This is off topic But this time I'm really confused between tab S7 plus and tab S8 ( I own Samsung S20Fe and ipad 6th gen gonna upgrade but I want to stick to an ecosystem that's why choosing samsung) Can you please help me out ?
I love hearing that you both enjoy your products. That display is absurdly nice...
@@TechGearTalkJust saying next time can you compare the 12.9 inch ipad pro?
I really appreciate you sharing your actual user experience. Thank you for being part of the channel!
How Do you record 4k 60fps on the Samsung s9 plus I have it and it’s locked at 30fps for all resolutions
Great video as always. I know you can also save a ton of money taking advantage of the trade-in deals the Samsung offers. I'm getting $550 for my Samsung Tab 8. I'm not sure if Apple offers the same types of trade-ins.
Thank you for the kind words. In my experience - the Apple trade in offers are not as good as Samsung's (I'm usually better off selling the device).
So glad the video was useful and that you got a tablet that works for you! Thank you for being part of the channel!
Like you said, the comparison should have been with the larger iPad Pro.
For me - both are valid for different users - Working on the next one!
And Tab S9 Ultra
Loved the S9 with the Keyboard. Fantastic device. Unfortunately, I returned two of them due to the wifi not connecting to 6e. I was on the phone for two hours with Samsung Support, and they said to send it back both times. The Internet is full of posts on this issue. Had the same issue with an S23 a few months back, and I sent it back. Ironically, both our S23 Ultra's never had an issue. This bug dates back to 2022, and Samsung has no fix.
I appreciate you sharing your experience! Thanks for being part of and supporting the channel!
Apps made for tablet are definitely a strength of iOS. I appreciate you sharing your perspective. Thank you for being part of the channel!
Please make Comparison of S9 ultra and ipad M2 with battery usage time
It’s the chip and the operating system, that’s the real breaking point
Galaxy tab s9 plus or M4 iPad Pro 11 inch? for media consumption & gaming
Could you please compare how long each device will last? Thanks.
Will do.
Tab s9 + for 5 years with security updates, but with a lot of customizations easily for 7 years.
Ipad m2 pro will last nearly for 8 years easily.
Can you use the IPad Pro (m1 chip and up) as a second monitor for a windows laptop/desktop?
@TechGearTalk what would you take? ipad pro 12.9 m1 256 or tab s9+ 256gb?
Please advise...s9 or s9 plus?
Or if ipad, 11 inch pro or 12.9 inch pro?
Is there any way to use Tab S9+ Plus as a second screen with Macbook Air 15' ? by using wired connection?
I would love the same comparison but with the 11 inch tab s9 and ipad pro m2 11 inch
Coming soon
Hey friend. If I buy s9plus will it be good for school? Need to use one note . Excel, all the , Microsoft application
Hello I'm planning to buy a tablet to use as secondary device for work specifically for digital planning, notes, and digital art/design. Currently deciding to get the s9 but I want the Procreate app. Is there android alternative for procreate?
to sum it up:
raw power and performance = ipad pro.
everything else = tab s9+.
samsung should consider lowering their price a bit, their tab is more appealing (since most users wont need the extra power of M2) but paying more for a weaker processor seems wrong.
Hi. Whats is better for devops, could you please help me? Thanks a lot
Which tab is best for study ?
i stick with apple's Ipad air 11 inch because im afraid of the OLED and since I draw im worried about screen burn and I dont really want to deal with the hassle of replacing it through warranty or buying a new one.
Very underrated youtuber.
Why youtube keeps recommending me same cc?
About the devices .
I have the option of getting s9+ for 800£. Basically same price as iPad pro11" .
Which one? Im ios user and felt android always like press extra 2 clicks in the past?
Thank you for the kind words. It’s hard to pass on the iPad if you’re already using an iPhone. I appreciate you for being part of the channel!
I have both and happy with both. 😂 S9 Plus is better for consuming content due to its aspect ratio and larger size, but apps work better on IPad Pro.
Which should I get for gaming stuff like Roblox? Just a note, I don’t care THAT much about stuff like pixels (I mean unless it’s as pixelated as an old Nokia or something) I just don’t want it to crash or Lag every 5 minutes
@@DreamDelightz if you bougth the tabs9 does it runs 120 fps?
Thx
Just something to add here
Some apps on ipad, like instagram, still using the phone version on the tablet, and on the s9 it already has the tablet version of the app.
Which one is better for digital drawings?
ipad obviously
S9+ obviously
Thanks for the video :D.
Do you happen to have a link to the wallpaper at 1:29?
I have a samsung ecosystem. Can i use ipad pro without any connectivity/ data issues?
I have a question: I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 & I recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G. Is that a step down since my S7 still runs as good as day one & my S9 FE is considered a mid range tablet & my S7 was a top tier in it's hayday?
Which tablet is best ipad pro 11" or Samsung s9
Both devices are pretty much top at this point and differences are minuscule.
If you work on design iOS App Store still serves you better.
The only thing that use to put the ipad ahead was software but now you find very competitive apps on both so it's definitely the samsung tab
Hi, can you please check your S9 Plus on dark room and set your tab on the low brightness, like 5% or below.
Did you notice this:
I dunno it is hardware issue or software issue, but I just want to make sure if all Tab S9 Plus suffer the same issue?
oh no, its hamlful for our eyes
Do you think the M3 ipad might release this year? I want to upgrade my 4th gen ipad pro
Next year spring event along with vision pro
idk , the iPad has just an LCD screen, but to me looks better than the oled on the Samsung, other than black levels , I'd be curious to see a comparison between the S9 plus and the new iPad pro with the OLED
I'm confused which should i buy for my med studies. Can anyone suggest & the reason for it also.
Hi what monitor is that you are using to cast screen?
Forgot to mention that HiPaint is virtually identical to procreate for Android now.
The Tab S8 Ultra is a beautiful tablet - congrats! Thank you for being part of the channel!
In my country (Viet Nam), tab s9+ has the same price as ipad pro 2020 12.9", how do you think about these 2 models? Which one is better for performance in a long run 🤔
I would get samsung, 3 years is a pretty big gap
Where did you buy the Tab S9 Plus keyboard cover that I just can't find with the touchpad.
I'll wait for the Tab series. The app optimization is preventing me from owning one.
How about battery life ,Sir ?
Where did you get that blue wallpaper on the Galaxy tab?
I can also say that AMOLED is AMODEAD if you crack it. A new screen for the iPad will set you back a couple hundred bucks. The Samsung will cost a minimum of $700.
How to get the wallpaper your used in this video?
Should i get the m2 ipad pro 12.9 inch or tab s8+ or 9+ , im leaning more towards the ipad because i have had too much android tablets, i already have a laptop and just want a tablet for drawing, Journaling, reading, a few games, longer battery life and software support 😭 please help
I would love to see a battery test video of both tablets.
I've been waiting forever
@@avnertouitou3778 One of the most important things for standard users, unfortunately there is no video 🥲
Good idea
I'm writing this from my Tab S7 Plus. It's aging quite well. If I was in the market for a new tablet, I'd absolutely pick the S9 Plus over any Apple tablet. I can't deal with Apple's ecosystem bull.
So glad you’re still getting the most out of your Tab S7+! I appreciate you for being part of the channel!
what was the FIFA game you playing?
As hard as mini-led tries, nothing beats oled… except micro-led, but that tech is maybe 10+ years away.
Besides the mention of "why not compare with the 12+" ipad", asking similar: why didnt you compare 11" to 11"...
Why did you not compare an iPad 12 with the tab S9 would it not be oranges 🍊 to oranges 🍊?
I'm still waiting for the battery drain test of the tab s9
Working on it
I used to get 11-12 hours of SOT with my Tab S7 when it was new and I still regularly hit 10 hours with a 2.5 year old battery. Imagine what this thing will be like with a 2 year old battery :-/
samsung galaxy tab s9 fe+ 128gb vs ipad pro 11 m2 128gb , what's better?
In multitasking, you forgot that the S9+ can also let you run apps as a pop-up window
Very true
Apps. Im a procreate user and affinity photo, recently used and colored on davinci as well and this nov 22 there will be procreate dreams… if only android app library has those apps.. sadly i just seen a procreate like app and clip studio / ibis paint tho they are good apps. I just like the simplicity snd how fluid procreate is. Android tablets should really work on their tablet apps…
Shouldn't the comparison be between ipad 11 VS Tab S9 (both are 11" screen)?
- ipad 11 v Tab S9
- ipad 12.9 v Tab S9+ (12.4)
- Tab S9 Ultra has no comparison
People don't understand that no tablet is better than the other, is just about what you really need.
Random question: What was that spell casting action game you were playing?
What timestamp? Sounds like Genshin Inpact
Around 12:30
What's that green paper that he uses to see the inside of the tablet at 0:46
