- I got early access to try the new Minecraft Legends game, and over the past week or so of playing it, I've REALLY enjoyed playing it. However, with a steep price tag of $40 USD, it's left many wondering if it's worth the high price. In this video, I give my honest Minecraft Legends review and talk about things like Minecraft Legends PvP tips and tricks, my thoughts on the campaign mode, and discuss why Minecraft Legends is bad in some ways. All of this commentary, over some Minecraft Legends gameplay in the background.

It’s a little confusing. Not sure I would spend $40 on it but the idea is COOL. They need to make it a way where you can communicate. I feel like they dropped a very unpolished game that still has potential.

There have been some leaks of emojis so maybe they will be emotes? But discord is also a great place to find people to play it with, there’s already a good sized community who loves it and theorizes about it all the time

Very thorough review! I never considered the point of cost and the impact it would have on the community. Hopefully there are enough Game Pass subscribers that want to try the game out to keep the community moving.
I really can't tell if this is my type of game or not. The general concept probably isn't for me, but because it's Minecraft themed and my friends also want to play it, I might end up buying it. I just need to see if this game is going to last because if it dies within a couple of months, I don't really fancy wasting that amount of money on a game that I'll play three times and never touch again.

40$ in todays gaming industry is a bargain compared to any other recently released triple A game
It's not a triple A game though, and both the base game and dungeons are less than 30. Doesn't seem to have enough flare for the added price.
a bargain for a shit game made by triple A devs with triple A money. empty, streamlined gameplay. the pokemon games are less "on rails" feeling than this shit.

But games like FF 16 and Zelda are 10x better than this.

Well spoken! As other comments mentioned it definitely needs more communications with friends and the community. Not only that, but there's a lot of potential to unravel.Hopefully in the future they'll give us tools for level editing, custom mobs, modifiers, and maybe modding support.

Since I’m only 17 and money isn’t too much of a problem ($40 is less than one shift of work gets me) I just pre ordered it so hopefully it provides a pretty fun time for a decent amount of time lmao

@@void3575 played the campaign for abt 2 hrs co-op and was the most streamline, boring experience i have ever had playing a minecraft type game. from my understanding u just go around beating piglin bases that 99% of the time can be run thru with just the cobble golem mob u start out with. the controls are intuitive and the building/resource collection is fluid. combat is just pressing b against one block tall enemies. only reason im not mad is cuz it was free on game pass so instead of paying $40 for this shit game i only paid $15. also fuck you microsoft for ending the $1 game pass

Only thing I like about this game is having to fight the piglins and being able to actually not be attacked by zombies creepers or skeletons and tbh I really like strategy games I've played company of heros 1 and 2 but haven't checked out three but yea I'd definitely keep playing especially the pvp
At first it might be confusing and boring but for me once you get used to the tools it gets really fun

The thing about me, is I really really really really really like the idea of this game personally, and even watched 2 whole 2 hour live streams of its PVP because of how interested I am. But I feel I should wait first, because if this game gets updated over time and becomes better and better, and they improve PVP and campaign, or at least PVP (admit it PVP will be the lifeblood of this game), I will definitely get it! Who agrees?

I finished the game today. My review: It was really fun! I have not touched online multiplayer, mainly because of a lack of communication, but I'm sure that will be fixed. My only gripe? It's price. This game is not worth 40$. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but in my option, if I pay over 30 bucks for a game, I refuse to see any form of micro transactions. I paid for the game, I want the content.
The story mode was fairly short too, with some interesting characters not even used. I assume they plan dlc, as they did in dungeons, but paying 40$ for an incomplete experience kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I feel like its worth $30 instead of $40 but still it looks really fun!
I dont really see a big difference between 40 and 30 but if you want you can still get it for 30 on certain key resellers.

It's worth 40 considering you can borrow it to 4 friends or family members. But yeah the game is meh. My daughter and I beat the campaign in easy mode in 4 hours. We'll try hard mode next.
Games that cost money to play shouldn’t have microtransactions, it’s really that simple imo. The game itself looks enjoyable enough, but the fact that they’re implementing microtransactions in a 40 dollar game puts me off.

this game definitely still looks better than i thought it would! i don’t think it’s worth 40 dollars but i have game pass so i’ll try it out
I think this is a perfect game for me the only thing that drives me away is the price to content ratio I don’t think their is enough content in the game to justify that price tag. I also don’t like the way the main game is so expensive but the deluxe edition is only £10 more expensive than the main game which is £35 (Very Overpriced) it’s like they’re almost forcing you to buy deluxe which is £45 (Also Very Overpriced). I am very fond of Minecraft Dungeons and thought this game would be around that price range maybe £18-£25 but that is the most I could justify for a game as bare bones as this.
I mean just how you grew up playing a rts while learning to understand it. This can be said to the younger audience that buys this game. They can learn to love a rts the Minecraft way

Can you make a video on the login timeout glitch? Whenever I join non-featured servers I just get a message that says “login timeout” I cannot play zeqa at the moment. It has been reported on the bug tracker but the staff had said they dont have enough info on how to fix it.
It looks a good game i hope that Mojang give a discount on the game the graphics is good the and i like strategie games its so good plus the pvp is good and the fact u can play 3v3 or 4v4 but it cost alot i hope Mojang give the a game discount and i want the community make skins i wish

I love this game so much! I never played the previous minecraft, idk if I'm loosing out on the other games
This game looks really fun, and I really like the graphics. I would personally say that this looks and feels better than Minecraft Dungeons, but I would need to get MC Legends to get an accurate review of it on my perspective. I am considering on buying it, but 40 dollars seems somewhat overpriced. Perhaps 20 or 25 dollars would make it worth it.

Quick questions:
A: How do files work? Is it once per profile or like 3 per? (For example, if I buy it on PC, in order to replay the game over and keep my old file, will I need to buy another game or will I have open slots)?
B: How long is the game's campaign
C: What are the requirements to run the game/how well do you think it'll run on slower devices?
A: I believe you can create multiple saves, but I haven’t tested beyond that
B: Campaign seems to average around 10 hours currently for people
C: Guy above me gave you the spec requirements, I personally haven’t tried it on a low-end device so I can’t give any insight there. My guess is that it would run “just okay”, you’d probably have to trade off either graphics or performance, or find a mix of the two

I personally think that any game that costs more than 30€ isnt that worth buying (unless the base game is less than 30 €, for example, the minecraft deluxe edition, the version that doesnt exist anymore since 1.18, used to cost 50€ or 40€, but came with a lot of stuff)

I'm a RTS player and a minecraft player.
I am really waiting for any new RTS to come out, and I'm really saddened with how RTS are abandonned by the big compagnies. The genre being only kept alive by small indie games on steam.
I cleaned Warcraft 3, Starcraft, AoE, Dawn of war and more, so seeing a new title for the RTS genre really makes me happy.
The gameplay also being unique from other titles makes Minecraft Legend stand out. Clearly it deserve its chance to shine.
I'm a longtime RTS player myself. Have you heard of Tempest Rising? Reminds me of the Red Alert games. There's a demo for the game on Steam atm. No word on when it will be coming out however, but soon.

The issue for me, is the quality, not the price. This game dosn't seem fleashed out enough to count as a proper RST.

I've got a question. Can you play Co-op in the campaign mode just with your friends? Or is pvp the only multiplayer aspect of the game?

I got this game for free with Xbox game pass and even though I like it I was really hoping there would be a single player game mode where you could focus on defending your base and every night getting raided.
The graphics look insane on this, but it’ll be interesting how the performance would be on low end devices, W vid potato

I mean it’s on game pass for free! I already have game pass for like 4-8 other games so Minecraft legends being good or bad expensive or cheap doesn’t really matter. Obviously I want the game to be good but as someone who has had Xbox game pass for over 2 years straight now I just don’t see the problem with this being a 40$ game. Especially not when most first party AAA games nowadays are 60-70$ and with game pass being really cheap it’s not like it would even matter that much. The only reason I could see a problem with the price is if this is/will come to switch because game pass isn’t on switch, but if you are on Xbox or PC there is really no excuse to not have game pass anyway so you will just have access to legends like any other game pass game!
This game is essentially Minecraft and Trove combined. They have similar gameplay and graphics.

Pc game prices recently just make Minecraft seem like way too much value for money ngl, $30 for a game that many people play for thousands of hours due to the insane variety, as well as (somewhat) frequent large updates.

There's also some people that are already paying gamepass...i got confused when you said the one month trial thing and then realized you meant the one month trial of gamepass not that this game only has a one month trial in the gamepass lol. I might try it, it's free and I like rts games. Not a big fan of the childish style, i'd prefer minecraft legends with the style of normal minecraft but with something like the graphics mods you can use to improve the graphics.
my only problem is the cost smh. like they already have alot of money, so why not make it cost the same as dungeons??? its half the price but mojang's a multibillion company so i dont know why they dont consider a more reasonable price.
As a 13 year old with basically $12, that seems like a lot of money for an unpolished game. I do really like the concept tho! AND THE GRAPHICS ARE AMAZNG! But according to my friend the pvp is not that great.
Yeah the PvP isn't great but the gameplay is fun if your willing to pay 40$ for it I think it's a bit repetitive but it's still really good imo

What about Call of Duty or all those other Story Game Based Titels etc. 80€ + for the Base Game.
But at least in COD there’s a way to communicate with your teammates - I understand that a story mode takes lots of effort to make, and has costs associated with it, but bundled with a PVP gamemode that costs $160 to be playable with the whole squad, that’s a little excessive

Seems to be almost like halo wars, a strategy game, sucks because I’m terrible at these games and don’t really care to play them, maybe I will give it a try because I love Minecraft, but imo mods is the best thing to keep Minecraft alive. So many people already play modded Minecraft because they have so many options for other ways to play the game. Wish they would hurry up with mods on consoles and forget the mobile gaming scene.

I feel like there should be “super” ground units that roughly equal the power of a redstone launcher. It does seem op atm. Really good video tho! Glad it got recommended
I've seen theres these guys called the "Firsts". They seem like some kind of legendary troop, but I'm not sure how powerful they actually are in comparison. Maybe there should be multiple tiers of walls, some that can block the launchers.

10 bucks on game pass for a 1 month trial (plus lot of other game) is ok for me. 40 is so many for that game without try it before.
A cool idea and concept but it just seems like give it a month and most people won't play it, like you mentioned it seems to lack a solid range of people who will play this long term due to the minecraft and graphics contrasting the gameplay
Played it’s on gamepass as it’s free! (Until I have to pay to renew 😅😜) it’s good but so far I kind of feel that I’ll be done with it once I’ve finished the campaign mode, not sure why but it feels like it’s missing something to keep me going.
It's new and yes there is so much thing that should be implement like voice chat ..
And if minecraft youtubers like dream and others play multiplayer then I guess The community will get interest and they will understand how to play this game..

Good for you! I doubt many think this way… especially Nintendo/Mario game’s specifically. The oldest Mario games sell used for almost the same price as a new copy would have _ years ago. It’s sad that this where we are, but people who pay those prices don’t help.

Not worth $40. Also that vs mode is cake, you can win by literally spamming towers that shoot in the start at the enemy base. It’s so easy.(I’m 11)

i bought it and i got bored in less than 1 hour....
respectfully hell nah lol. the inclusion of the shop tells me this is gonna be pay 2 win. it'll die down in 6 months or less. Minecraft's main player base is young kids who aren't gonna know how to play an RTS nor will they take time to learn. Not sure what Mojang was thinking here.

Not worth it since the gameplay is not for me, I think the concept is cool at the beginning but I believe it will gets bored after couple of days due to repetitive missions.

I am literally softlocked in my near 20 hour save because the final horde of the spore thing is too high and its impossible for me to get to the devourer or the portal.
Did you run all the way around the base? Should be platforms to climb.
@@YeahPete yeah the platforms are too far and low, the next one up is blocked by the platform the portal is on so i just cant get higher up.
If you get the Beetle mount you can climb cliffs. Could try that. All the allies somehow follow you.

@@YeahPete the beetle cannot climb the natherack platforms, but I found a warped tree that make it up to the platform that is too far to reach from the lower platforms
