Another tip.use good detergent. Tide is fairly cheap, where I live, for a small bottle,it is around $3. If you buy good quality items that get the job done the first time,it saves money.clothes dont get ruined by over washing, still dirty,to boot, use way less water, soap, power to clean.same with dish soap.or trash bags

Happy Friday Kate & fellow K Squad!! :) One of my fav tips you mentioned Leo gives is eating a cheap breakfast. My kiddo's are all in college now, but when they were younger..I stopped buying boxed cereals. I know, I know, lol...boxed cereals are so easy during morning household rush hours lol. But I would wake up a little earlier and make pancakes, omelets, poached eggs, breakfast sandwichs, toast, oatmeal. I would make the pancake-French toast batter the night before to be ready. My kiddo's and husband would make comments on how they noticed they stayed full all the way until lunch. Not only did this save me $$, but I felt better how we all started off our days.

Yes! planning -the key. Next week is a heavy teaching schedule. have packed for the whole week. Some things in the freezer, some in refrig. Will grab all Monday 6 am. Place in work refrig/freezer. When I worked in the prison & there was NO refrig, I planned food differently. There is a way but some people wont do this.

There were so many good tips. I can't remember the last time my husband and I have had a car payment. We simply pay cash for them. Although, we pretend we do have a payment each month.
,So we move $400-$500 from our "bills account to our "auto" bank account so we'll hav,e cash to pay for the next car combined with the money from the sell of our pervious car. If something happens and we need to skip a month, we can..until wie are able to get back on track. No penalties.

Recently a friend told me that she could never live in one bedroom apartment like I do. She “needs” a spare bedroom to “study”. In the last 8 years she hasn’t gotten any new degree or diploma, not even in a foreign language. Meanwhile I got a second degree in mu 350 sqm apartment.... and my apartment IS PAID IN CASH. Meanwhile she is in between jobs and has just signed for an apartmet that will cost her 7000€ a year. Sometimes life can be easier when we just become less spoiled.

Invited us over to see if there was anything we wanted (for free!) and she says You want any games? No... oh wait is that Guess Who? She said Yes! I told her I was getting it for Gracie for Christmas that she would get a big kick out of it because 20 years ago she LOVED playing it with her grandma! I stared being frugal and minimal..one thing at a time and what worked for me.
    Made my own laundry soap
    Hang dry clothes
Cook from scratch and eat up everything before shopping
    Minimum clothes... Almost uniform
    Decorate seasons from nature
    Wash my car myself
Free entertainment concerts in the park
Brown bag nights with friends everyone brings there dinner to our house and have a game night
Saturday morning coffee and chat for lady's at my house...

Ronda, this is SUCH great advice to change things ONE THING at a time! This makes it a habit and you're less likely to stop once you've made it part of your routine. Then you see how satisfying that one thing is and can move on to the next. I TOTALLY agree! These are great ones by the way! How long have you been practicing frugality and minimalism?

I started reading Amy about 18 years ago. And started with a pantry challenge. Then in the last seven years started really working on one thing at a time. Now it's habit. One of my great accomplishments was when I saved 4000 dollars secretly from hubby and surprised h im by paying off car. 😁

There are a zillion exercise videos on youtube...yoga, pilates, aerobics, cardio, weight lifting...it's a great way to introduce yourself to lots of different workouts and ideas so that if and when you DO decide to join something, it will be something you will actually love and stick with. But there's really no need to look outside of your home or daily life living for exercise. I live in Montana, so it's cold and icy for, like, 8 months out of the year....so youtube workouts are my friend. :-) Thanks for this video! I sensed her body was tensed and asked If was allowed to give her some positive energie by laying my had between her shoulders. As some minutes went by she totally relaxed. Afther about 15 min she was all happy again. Just by giving her some time and really be there for her. That's was someting you said in one of your episodes. Sorry forgot the name...
It was about what you can give but what does not cost anything...although to her it was priceless and so she said to me. But it was you who started it. So all your good things are getting to effect People even in a small country in europe! Say hi to your son and I wish you both a great day!

I've thought about cutting the second car since I'm working 2 days a week from home. That has cut my gas usage and I don't need all the clothes I have. Can't cut the gym, but I've considered it. I have this AMAZING "electric lunch box" that I take to work. I am able to add either leftovers to it or actual raw food and steam my lunch instead of having to use the microwave, which I avoid. I can cook a whole grain and lean protein with vegetables and mix it up every day or enjoy the same meal I made the night before as leftovers. It is the absolute bomb, it saves me so much money on days I find myself running late and unable to pack lunch. i just bring the ingredients and make it at work in my office. It is basically a hot pot with two stacking metal inserts where you put your food. Love love love it.

More great ideas! We just had breakfast for supper last night! we do that at least once a week. My grandsons favorite meals are Hens in a nest (some people call is eggs in a blanket), French toast, or cream chipped beef. If he is hungry for a breakfast meal, I will certainly make it! People think I cheat on my grocery budget, I keep my receipts, but I do not. I just have a large stock pile. For two of us, four eggs, four pieces of bread and about two tablespoonfuls of butter makes the hens in a nest, my eggs were 1.50 a dozen, so .50 for four of them, bread 10/$10, .40 for four slices, and the margarine for a three pound container 2.99, now I don't know how many tablespoonfuls is in there, but I am guessing high .20 for the margarine so our meal $1.10 total, that is not per serving that is for both of us, there is no food waste. to supplement, we don't have desert, but we use fruit cups, fresh fruit - watermelon, bananas, oranges for desert. but I only buy the fresh at the beginning of the month, since this is the end of the month later in the evening he had mandarin oranges in jello that were .50 for four of them, he ate two of them .25......so managing for two of us for $120 for the food purchases is totally doable. I also have my $20 of fun money and yes there are times I have purchased a few groceries out of it when I went wild at the store for what I thought were great purchases like .49 chicken thighs, 1.99 ground beef....things like that! oh I also use 40.00 on household stuff, this time I purchase two pillows for 9.99, detergent 1.75 a bottle and I stocked up. so being frugal comes second nature, I am retired I make about 22 a month too much with my retirement check to qualify for any kind of assistance. Oh, and I have friends who buy stuff try it and don't like it. They will often say I have some stuff I am not using, you want to try it. I am allergic to fish and seafood, so as long as it is not fish or seafood I gladly accept it and that saves my food budget.....big time! Also, I do not budget his lunch money into my grocery budget, that is 6.00 per week, about 30.00. For 1.20 a day I don't have to prepare lunches for him. I am at home since retiring so I can have whatever is in the fridge.

Awesome video!!! I love so many of those!!! One thing I will not be getting rid of anytime soon is phone plan or cable tv. Hubby works for cable company (does the phone side) & we do get a cheaper rate - tho I don’t watch it at all, he does. Mine is to take water wherever you go. Seriously, we take a thermos travel mug with us whenever we leave the house!!! My personal issue is that I LOVE sonic ice!!! Love making hard boiled eggs in my pressure cooker/instapot. Ice baths for the eggs afterwards. We used to get sonic ice (1-4x/month - 2 bags each time) because we would make hard boiled eggs and my ice craze would never keep enough ice for me or anyone else 😝🤷‍♀️ so hubby got “me” a used commercial size ice machine for my birthday a couple of years ago. Guess what we bring to every party?!!! That thing is worth its weight in gold! No joke! Lose power? We have tons of coolers & have had a fridge/etc go out on us. But no problem... we have the ice to handle it. Camping? Oh yeah!!! We’re all good!!! In fact we can fill up every cooler in our small group before we all go camping!!! Hubby won (yes, WON) a HUGE yeti(?) COOLER that we can stuff full of cold items & not have it go bad or ice melting for almost an entire week. That learn to do it yourself thing? Oh yeah!!! Hubby will usually part with something he’s no longer using to get something he does want (like a home brewer machine) & learn how to tweak things to how he wants it done. Like his 3D printer that he can make complicated things like a hotspot thingamajig (🤣🤷‍♀️✌️) that he can sell to others in the handheld radio crowd that he’s a part of. He’s a tech genius (& no college) but he loves teaching himself how to do things & he’s my mr fix-it! RUclips is also an awesome resource for so so so many things!!! Getting rid of things we don’t need, whether selling it or giving it away (we donate lots of my 5 year old’s clothes to friends etc. -which is hysterical because he’s so much bigger than most of his friends- about the size of most 7/8 year olds & they tend to have a little wait before they can fit them 🤣🤣🤣)!!! But all of them are awesome tips!! Use what ya can & leave the rest! One other one though!!! Don’t upgrade unless you seriously need to. I’m still on iPhone 7? I think? & really, I’ll probably just get a refurbished one of this same phone because I love it! Don’t feel like you need to upgrade just because there’s a “better or newer one” 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Frugal exercise: I have been using the same dumbells and ankle weights since I was in my teens and I'm 40 now lol. I also got a set of resistance bands on Amazon for $10 I have been using for 6 years. And I am really pretty fit :) don't need to spend much to get a good workout!
