In my opinion shang tsung was easily the hardest character to play as in mk3, the fact that you needed to learn the transformation combinations which was already difficult,
Additionally you had to learn the character you turned into's moves, essentially learning at least twice the amount of moves as the other characters once you add shang tsungs's normal fireball moves

Shang Tsung was my favorite. He is very hard to defeat because he has the ability to imitate all the characters of Mortal Combat including powers. He is the most powerful among all.

To morph into ninja, you should hold down some buttons before the next round as Cyber Smoke. But at the end of round Shang morphs to himself automatically. So no, I guess.
