First time I ever got airborne was in an air experience flight chipmunk at RAF Newton in 1982 . Happy days 🙂

They were at RAF Swinderby when I was on Basic training
fly some aerobatics in a Chipmunk as a young teenager, never truly or fully enjoy a rollercoaster ever again because the thrill just ain't quite the same when moving in 3 dimensions is restricted by tracks. 30+ years after my flights I took my only helicopter lesson, the lessons I'd learnt years before made that ride and the questions I'd ask result in the instructor say post flight that I was the best 1st time flight student he had had in his 3 years instructing

Still have my F3822 from my time in the ATC, with my flying log from the Air Experience Flight at Hurn Airport. First Chippy flights in WP840 and WD373, loops, barrel rolls, stall turns with Ernie Jones who was the Wing Admin Officer for Hampshire & IOW (and a former Red Arrow, which spiced it up a bit)
