Samsung phones are very important outside the US and have advantage in that sense. Pixel phones are not supported in most countries and software features like Google VPN are blocked. iPhones are more expensive outside the US and the price gap is even bigger. Basic iPhone costs almost a thousand dollars. But Samsung phones cost similarly around the world. Hence midrange Samsung phones are very important outside the US because they are basically the only option to get an affordable phone with premium feel and safety considerations in terms of software.
You're better off with Xiaomi, OnePlus, etc. outside rather than garbage Samsung midrangers like A35 which perform worse than 4 year old phones.

@@yahyahasan1554 Nope, been there done that. Stay as far as away as possible from any Chinese smartphone brands, they're not reliable at all. After just one year, my old Redmi Note 9s started lagging and crashing. Samsung is the only viable option if you want an Android device in any country that Pixel phones aren't supported in.

@@yahyahasan1554 been using a Xiaomi phone for the past 6 years. MiUI is a mess. Delayed notifications, small ads even when you turn off the personalization, some Xiaomi apps download on its own despite deleting it multiple times.
I would opt for Samsung a55 even if it means the phone is underperforming on Games than Chinese phones
The fact that this comparison is in any way close just goes to show how far Iphone has fallen behind Samsung. A flagship phone needs to be miles ahead of a midrange phone to justify its price... especially for Iphones since they are more expensive than pretty much any other flagship phone out there.
You have no idea how cumbersome and garbage Samsung is when used actively and intensively. Even the most advanced model lags

Let's assume for a moment that the everyday user plays games every now and then, mostly surfs and uses a few streaming services, along with YT, Tiktok, Insta, etc.
He also wants to take a few snapshots and make a few holiday videos.
And this everyday user wants to see everything on a beautiful, colorful large display, then closes his apps again and doesn't want to have to spend extra money unnecessarily.
Does anyone here really believe that this everyday user will actually buy an iPhone 15 for twice the price???
It was clear to see that even this A55 was just as fast, if not faster, in almost all browser-based applications.

Thanks Nick for the Good Lock tip about continuous scrolling of homescreens. I had this feature a long time ago on an Honor phone, back when Huawei could sell phones in the US. I now have a Z Flip 5 and just found the feature again. Glad you mentioned it!
2:11 mind you, apples over a thousand dollar phone only gives you Face ID to unlock your phone while one of Samsungs more budget phones gives you MULTIPLE ways to unlock your phone. THAT is why I love Samsung lol. They have a phone for every income level and won’t compromise features just because you are buying a budget phone.
To be fair, Face ID is the most secure face unlock feature compared to other phones. And unless u have the flagship smartphones which have ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, then those “multiple ways to unlock ur phone” is less secure lol

Whenever the iphone is faster, he makes sure you know, but when the samsung is faster, he moves on and at 4:04 when the samsung loaded up quicker, he said the iphone did. Clear bias toward the iphone, you shouldn't be reviewing them 😮💨
Do an S series with the 15 or do the iPhone 13 as a comparison because its around the same price and the "average" consumer would look into an older phone, like many people I know

Ever since I got to use a flagship phone from both samsung and apple, I’m never going back on midrange. Tho they are a great value for your budget, flagships still run consistent and snappy even after a couple of years, and efficient wise, they are better on the long run

For it's price, it's a win for A55. If a tens of a second difference really matter to you, then go ahead get the more expensive phone.
Yes it sure is, big screen, versatile triple camera, enough performance for daily use, but in reality the iPhone 15 is more consistent as is other more premium phones, but casual users wouldn't really care, only tech enthusiasts and people who are heavy users and pay attention

You should do an A54 vs A55 when A54 receives One UI 6.1, to see if A55 is worth the upgrade
The A55 wins, it works just well and it is reasonably priced.
A55 is like more than 50% slower chip, and both are fast to open apps so app opening speeds is about the same on all phones nowadays theres no reason to test ..
Just do the ram test, wifi speed test and geekbench
These are the things that differ a lot between phones today. Oh and animations
I actually found this test more interesting as the difference was much more obvious, the 120hz is like 50% faster than iPhone 15 on A55 so while it has a much slower chip it feels smoother with its display refresh rate

@@nickackermanchannel When I put mine in 60 hz it genuinely feels awful, and I am not even talking about just animation and scrolling and such, the phone felt slower. I don't think it was designed to run on 60

Different Animations give Different feel even if Hz are the same , if u got hyper os on midrange it still feels smooth on 60hz because its animations are super slow probably the slowest , if u got one ui animations feel choppy on 60hz because they are the fastest..
Ios feels a little worse than hyper os.
Pixel ui always looks smooth and snappy because it has 2d animations and they just hit different.
@wheely4405 I got the Samsung A55, the phone in the video. At 120 hz, it feels like a flagship, it feels like my aunt's S23, and like my other relatives iPhone 13 pro, but when I set the refreshrate to 60, it feels slower than my mom's note 10 lite, almost reminiscent of my old A51. Idk if it's a software problem or something, but I do know I am never setting it to 60 HZ even after 4 or 5 years when it's on its last stages of life
Edit: I set it to 60 for around 5 minutes, and it actually doesn't feel as bad as I remember. I'm still nowhere near as smooth as Apple's and Samsung's top of the line 60Hz though.

In some countries as much as you want older flagships the prices are still so high. So people will just opt for this mid ranges, which is not that as bad.
The Samsung A series are the uppermid range devices
the Samsung A series is variable. The A05 is the absolute lowest phone, and the A55 the highest. Both are definitely not comparable.

They are not, a55 is the same price as iphone Xr which is very old model and maybe they will not support his security and updates no more than 1 year maybe.
My sister have an entrylevel android version 12 with 90hz screen 6GB RAM and it works to some basic apps like scrolling on social media but it doesnt support in other apps its lagging drops for like 30 to 40 screen hz i think its all about the processor and software optimization

Animations improved but not enough in the A55. That flickering still happens in the S series. It's Samsung not optimizing going back to an app. By the way, my question is, how many apps can you have open in iOS?

You can do more with an android phone and you can make an android device faster with unlocking the developer settings.
To be honest, I think the only Samsung phone that would make a fair comparison with the iPhone 15 in terms of hardware would be the S25, but it hasn't been released yet. The A55 is a "medium" phone and not a Premium one.
I bought the A24. It's not very different from the A54 or A55. The only difference is 120 HZ.
iPhone 15 is a high end flagship phone of apple while Samsung A55 is a normal phone of Samsung, if you juxtaposes it's like you are comparing the Samsung S24 with an iPhone SE, thereby the comparison is not effective, for better comparing you should probably review iPhone 15 and Samsung S24

Phones are so fast nowadays that even putting a flagship against a midrange, the midrange doesn't look too far behind in day to day. Also, for your review, I hope you talk about mobile connectivity, as I suspect the reason it wasn't released in the US is because it doesn't support some bands over here.

I am going to get an A55 first week of June. I can't stand iPhones, have had one but hated it and will never have another one. I don't play games on my phone so paying what Apple charges for their products is not for me and they aren't getting my hard earned money. I am in Europe and it is going to cost me €414 for an 8GB ram 256GB storage plus the Samsung has expandable storage and the iPhone doesn't so there is a clear winner for me and it isn't the iPhone.
The iPhone was anything but smooth in recents plenty of micro stutters to my eye.

i've been using android (mostly samsung) for 10 years and i'm currently using an s21 fe which is basically a "A" phone dressed up as an "S" so people can fall for getting a "flagship". after one year to this date the phone can't hold more than 2 apps in the background and everything is lagging, literally any interaction is delayed by 1 second and all animations are on 10 fps. i've tried resetting the phone, debloating it but nothing works. my friend is using an iphone 11 since the release of an iphone 12 and it works better after 4 years of NO MAINTENANCE at all. the only that needs a change is the battery.
Thank you, someone who said it. These phones are nice in the beginning then suffer from the gradual decline that midrangers always suffer from. My son had the A54, I was impressed with it at first then after about half a year he started coming to me about his phone being really slow. After a year we had enough and switched to an iPhone 13 that we got for free in a carrier deal. What a breath of fresh air.

Yes you nailed it, the A55 is far more useable, but I feel for this price the phone should perform just a bit better because they did raise the price over the A54 and A53
