I like that the SE finally got its own design and isn't just the shell of an iPhone 5 or 8 with upgraded internals anymore. It's also so refreshing to see a phone with just one single camera at the back instead of an armada of camera holes on the back that look ridiculous.

It’s not completely new design. People only look at the camera when talking about design. It’s comparable to the 14 with a different camera. It does look very nice tho in my opinion.

Honestly I only ever use the normal camera on my 13 mini. The wide angle is used probably 5% of the time and it’s quality is not that great in low light anyway

@@shopeedamassa i don't think they ever will because people did complain about battery life and other stuff. it was definitely convenient and very portable but wasn't very practical. most people also wanted a bigger screen, so apple made plus

back glass is a bit decorated now , & charging port a bit iffy .
Otherwise still a solid phone to rock .
I think i am going to upgrade my SE 3 to an SE 4 after watching this, it makes tons of sense to get rather than the newer models

This is THE iPhone for SE users. Only things I would change is make it a Mini phone and make the power button Touch ID instead of Face ID (so that we can maybe have the Dynamic Island?) and yes I’m one of those Touch ID people
YES A MINI PHONE!!! ... Also Face ID is what requires either a notch, or dynamic island... if there was no Face ID you could get away with just a hole punch for the front facing cam. I do wish that the power button on ALL iPhones was Touch ID though like the one on the iPad Mini 6/7 but I wish that was in addition to Face ID not in replacement of it.
Touch ID sucks for sweaty hands like mine ✋🏻

Welp, I'm glad I just got a second hand SE 3 to replace... an aging iPhone 7.
I hesitated to wait for SE 4, but I love the small and light form factor and felt like it would never go back to such low numbers, I guess I was right.
And no FaceID for me, thank you.
I really liked the size and form factor of the se 3, it was really comfortable to hold, I wish they would have just got rid of the notches and front button, made the screen bigger and upgraded the cameras and processor but kept the size and shape.
I think mini phones are dead. The smallest form factor right now is the Samsung s25. The 13 mini was almost as you describe

Freak, i was always se user. My first iPhone was 2017 SE, second was SE 2020 (& after 8 months I lost it) then I bought iPhone SE 2022 product red, that means it’s really good to hear that new iPhone SE 4 is coming out soon in 2025 :)

The 16E with a retail price of around €599 is going to sell like crazy! And, it’ll be interesting to see if they drop the 13/14 and move the whole line up to have AI and USB C charging
The front button (aside price) is the top selling factor of SE. Removing it will blur the difference with the regular iPhones. It will also increase the learning curve for aged people who are the main target market.
The button has been removed for 7 years on the main phones, it’s time for it to go
You have a point but really the main reason for the SE line existence is the reduced price compared to regular iPhones, not the size, or the buttons, or the age demographic. They may sell less to aged people but they'll sell more to other people worldwide.

@RUclipsWatcher4343 it's not a security issue. In fact, flagship Android phones have higher quality fingerprint scanners to compensate for these. But even though let's say it didn't open, can anyone open it with their fingerprint? No, because there is no identical fingerprints

I ran the SE 3 model for a year in between my iPhone 8 Plus and iPhoone 16 Pro. It was great! Honestly I only got the 16 Pro because they offered $350 off the 16 Pro and I wanted the better cameras. Otherwise I would have waited for this one.
Yours best choice cause se4 have one single camera but the 16 pro has many features

Yeah I'm so happy with my current SE because I can reach the top and bottom while holding it with one hand, super convenient when riding the train.

Thanks Daniel, I've been telling the old lady (Mum) to hold off on upgrading from SE3 to 14, she's had an SE3 for donkees (years) I myself am a Samsung Man but I would seriously consider a move back to Apple for a cheaper entry level alternative to the 16. Great content as always
I say make the change. I did the change a few months ago from my S21 to a 15 plus and I’ve been loving it so far.
@Pinkyc0rn332 Thanks for the tip, yep seriously considering the move back. I miss the simple iOS experience including the million & one accessories that only an iphone offers. Andriod option is great for those with the brains to navigate the menus and take full advantage of what it has to offer. That ain't me I am fast approaching an age that wants easy. I'll calmly and patiently wait for the SE4 as a starting point for a full fledged return to Team Tim Cook

This was usefull. I think the action button is important, as cell phones nowadays are mainly cameras and you want to switch them on fast.
My XS has served me well although the battery is now draining fast. Trying to decide between the SE 4 but also considering the IPhone 13.
I have the 13, good phone, but get 14 if u find a good deal because it has 6gb ram vs 13’s gb. ,meaning more longevity and less background apps closing

one of the only features I'm baffled Apple is just not keen to go back to is 3D touch, I can live with no more touch ID but damn I loved 3D touch, they really nailed the feel with that and I just don't find the capacitive features on the new phones as good :/
Looks like the new compact phone screen size is 6.1-6.3 inches nowadays. Well, I understand why some people might want an even smaller screen/device, I myself never had an iPhone mini but I liked its size whenever I laid my hands upon one. However, I think that the battery will take a big hit with these dimensions. Maybe an iPhone with the dimensions of the X/Xs/11 pro but with the modern flat sides form factor and even slimmer bezels could potentially house a 5.9 or even 6 inch screen. My opinion is that this could be the ideal compact phone for todays standard

I love LCD screen. I can use it long hours, in the dark or right after walking up without hurting my eyes. I downgraded from ip14 Pro then 13 Mini then now with 2022 SE 3.

I’m pretty sure the se will not have a new housing. They will use an older model housing like they used the 5 and 8 body.
It all depends on the price. The iPhone 15 is $530 used on Amazon which has 2 extra cameras and the Dynamic Island which is a better deal
I’m not the target market for it, but I think it’s a good value for the price. I think what’s going to happen to the regular iPhone models is that they will get 120hz displays. It already has Dynamic Island, camera control, action button and the extra camera. That should be enough for the upgrade. Oh, I forgot the plus variant will be the “Air” now.

This would be ideal for me. I just need it to support iOS for screen mirroring to my Mac Mini M4. Camera quality isn’t a priority since my wife has her iPhone 15 for photos of our kids, but I would appreciate having FaceID. They always have good SoC so light gaming should be great.
