I have missed Wendy Richards, seeing her in eastenders as Pauline fowler and in are you being served as miss Brahms. She deserves this award because I feel that she is what made an actress so well done sweetheart
I don't watch EastEnders, but i loved her Are You Being Served? She so deserved it, she was a brilliant actress. Can't believe it's been 4 years. RIP Wendy
I read somewhere that she was in an abusive relationship. OMG that really bothered me that anyone, especially this lovely lady, could be abused by a partner. such a beautiful lady and such a talented actress - if this could happen to her, it could happen to anyone. When will we learn? Ditch such idiots in our lives. RIP sweet, talented lady. Thank you for the years of entertainment.
Anyone old enough to remember a hit record in 1962 by Mike sarne call "come outside"? Wendy was singing on that. She has been in so many popular TV programmes over the years including are you being served and Dad's Army. Yes she was a fine actress and is missed from our screens.
She is what a great actor is all about,, Stay true to your character. That is why she left EE. She knew, as we all knew her character. EE bosses didn't. She was Awesome!! RIP Job Well Done:)
Wendy Richard was a lovely actress, so down to earth, she’s one of Britain’s best character actresses and a national treasure, I hate how the writers turned Pauline into some hardened bitter woman, Wendy hated it too, that’s why she left
Well, we all have to go. It's the law of life. But we are very fortunate and grateful for having had this wonderful actress. Saw her both in Are You Being Served Again and East Enders. Fantastic.
Being from America, we never got to see her in Eastenders, but absolutely loved her in AYBS and Grace and Favor. But OMG!!! I would be on the edge of my seat. I had no idea Wendy Richards could do drama so well. On another note, the AYBS Christmas special “Roots” was not shown in America for many years. When I saw the reason why, I was very impressed with the actress Wendy Richards for not wearing blackface.
What a superb actress from Are you being served to her her Eastenders role as Pauline, tinged with sadness it’s great to hear and see her. God bless you Wendy. 8/10/2019 🇬🇧
There are so many so-called ''celebrities'' these days that when they get even the most basic of a cold have to ram down the throats of everyone and splash it all over the newspapers and social media for months at a time but when Wendy got cancer she was very gracious and quiet about it and didn't want to bother anyone with her troubles! RIP Wendy, a gorgeous lady inside and out.
An unlikely show for me personally to get hooked on, but I did back a few years after it started and began being showed in the U.S. on Public TV. Sad that now after watching it for around 30 years, they have stopped showing it. I'm terribly far behind as we are around 10 years behind. I can't see how I can pick it up in the future missing all those broadcasts. She was a great actress. Glad she got this award in her lifetime. Well deserved. Rest Easy.... Sad for me to watch as Eastenders appears to be over for me.
Excuse me that's too far. Wendy was neither any of them words, did you ever have the chance to meet her? I certainly did. She's a very down to earth lady, much different to her EastEnders character, so keep your Thick, vulgar, vile, common, working-class comments to yourself.
Love Pauline (Wendy) She Was To EastEnders What Barbara Stanwyck /Victoria Barkley Was To The Big Valley Loved Wendy As Pauline And As Ms Brahms On Are You Being Served 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Wow, to be honest I really didn't like the character that Wendy Richard was playing... Pauline Fowler, but that isn't Wendy's fault. She was written a character to play. Some people go way to far, she was obviously a very dedicated and loved person...
You sometimes have to wonder when someone wins an award when they are close to death whether they actually deserved the award or whether it was given because they were dying.
Wendy's cancer returned in 2008. She received this award in 2007, and it was because she had recently departed EastEnders and was with the program from the first episode. She was in good health when given this award. Her health played no factor in this.
katie She was first diagnosed with cancer in 1996 and she was awarded out of sympathy and to make the establishment look good (she could not act anyway).
I don't think she knew - from her reaction in the audience when he was saying the history of the award winner you can see when she realized it was her (e.g. the bit about "been on EastEnders 22 years" etc).
Is it an EE rule that whenever a character listens to 'You don't have to say you love me' you know their death's approaching? The only other instance, apart from Pauline, with this song was when Tina switched it on for Sylvie, shortly before SHE died...
william f Speaking of “roll out the Barrel” I died laughing on Gimme Gimme Gimme when Tom and Linda’s landlady “Beryl” was dead in their lounge and Tom and Linda started singing “Roll Out the Barrel (Beryl!)
Wendy Richard and the rest of them could not even act their way out of a paper bag, but they are all very good at awarding and patting themselves on the back for it.
Pauline WAS EastEnders, her departure left a huge void in the show which can't be filled as she was the heart of the programme. RIP Wendy.
Well done Wendy
Beautiful comment I agree 🖤❤️💜
Well deserved award! Hardly believe that Wendy would be gone less than 2 years after accepting her award! She's missed! God Bless You Wendy!
Still miss that outstanding English actress who never gave up her struggle with cancer. 🙏👏🙏 R.I.P. ALWAYS WENDY RICHARD
I have missed Wendy Richards, seeing her in eastenders as Pauline fowler and in are you being served as miss Brahms. She deserves this award because I feel that she is what made an actress so well done sweetheart
Love you wendy. May you rest in piece for a job well done and a life well lived.
martin
Why do you want her to rest in pieces?
I miss Wendy Richard🌷 she was a great actor. The frying pan was the highlight.
Mikes Karaoke lol-I almost died when I saw that!!
You go girl, you are missed!
Rest in peace Wendy knowing you brought smiles to millions. Job well done.
God bless Todd Carty, Alexander, Natalie Cassidy for being there for her during her battle with cancer.
OMG! RIP Miss Brahms and Pauline!!
she was a very classy lady
She had 33 consecutive years of steady employment. Not many actors can say that.
I don't watch EastEnders, but i loved her Are You Being Served? She so deserved it, she was a brilliant actress. Can't believe it's been 4 years. RIP Wendy
R.I.P darling we all miss );

I always think about Wendy Richard all the time. She was such a formidable actress in EastEnders. God..I miss her.
its sad that everyone from aybs is gone
I didn't know that! I watched this that show on PBS Houston for many years! Now on You Tube.
Mike berry (mr spooner) is still alive
Mr Spooner plus secretaries and the canteen lady. Still alive.
Actress Wendy Richard she a Legend in eastenders RIP
Awww we all miss her :(
Wonderful... actress... truly wonderful...
She is what a great actor is all about,, Stay true to your character. That is why she left EE. She knew, as we all knew her character. EE bosses didn't. She was Awesome!! RIP Job Well Done:)
Wendy's voice did get deeper over the years.
Wendy Richard was a lovely actress, so down to earth, she’s one of Britain’s best character actresses and a national treasure, I hate how the writers turned Pauline into some hardened bitter woman, Wendy hated it too, that’s why she left
Agreed.
Well, we all have to go. It's the law of life. But we are very fortunate and grateful for having had this wonderful actress. Saw her both in Are You Being Served Again and East Enders. Fantastic.
Congratulations Wendy
Still Miss Wendy in Eastenders
WOW, Captivating!
R.i.p Wendy what a great woman

Beauty last forever and dignity is a beneficiary of Wendy Richards; she has always been a Pretty Woman to me.......

RIP Wendy Richard
RIP Wendy I miss her
RIP Pauline aka wendy Richards ❤❤😪😪
I miss mrs.Wendy Richard's cocky eastentender London accent. May Miss.Brahms in rest in peace.
Excuse me that's too far. Wendy was neither any of them words, did you ever have the chance to meet her? I certainly did. She's a very down to earth lady, much different to her EastEnders character, so keep your Thick, vulgar, vile, common, working-class comments to yourself.
Having got to know her as Shirley Brahms and briefly seen her as Pauline, it's so different to see her as herself!
Does anyone else remember her in 'the Newcomers'?
Love Pauline (Wendy) She Was To EastEnders What Barbara Stanwyck /Victoria Barkley Was To The Big Valley Loved Wendy As Pauline And As Ms Brahms On Are You Being Served 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

6:04 Constable Gladstone, always cheerful.
Miss Brahms, my teenage crush in the early 1970s
so sad what happened to her :'(
jhibbitt1 she passed away in 2009 from breast cancer
Wendy, like me in some ways, was beautiful.
You sometimes have to wonder when someone wins an award when they are close to death whether they actually deserved the award or whether it was given because they were dying.

Wendy died in 2009 and this video was from 2007
Joe Snow I get what you are saying, but she won this award for being a brilliant actress who played a great character.
katie
She was first diagnosed with cancer in 1996 and she was awarded out of sympathy and to make the establishment look good (she could not act anyway).
mysky
She was not in good health, she was in remission and if it were not for the cancer, then she would have never received an award.
I miss her baeuty and her accent ,and I'm Italian...
I love how she was surprised. Todd Carty was making the announcement, who else was it going to be? 🙂
how can you say such things about somebody who had cancer?
Did Wendy know she was receiving the award ?
I don't think she knew - from her reaction in the audience when he was saying the history of the award winner you can see when she realized it was her (e.g. the bit about "been on EastEnders 22 years" etc).
Can anyone tell me who the young man at 5:14 is; he seems familiar to me but can't place him???
richmeisterg Carl king emmerdale
WWHHHOOAAA Dot is looking so good....obviously they make her look old in this series...
@richmeisterg he plays carl king on emmerdale
Tell u what when Pauline slapped someone or knocked someone out you could really feel it yourself
What EE writers did to Pauline in the end was insulting and disrespectful not just to Ms. Richards but to EE viewers.
How come all of the really cool people die young? I am an old fucker, I am still here... Would trade places with her. thanks-
Is it an EE rule that whenever a character listens to 'You don't have to say you love me' you know their death's approaching? The only other instance, apart from Pauline, with this song was when Tina switched it on for Sylvie, shortly before SHE died...
So two times? It's a two-time only rule?
Yes i agree they should play Roll Out The Barrel or Ive Got A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts for a change
william f Speaking of “roll out the Barrel” I died laughing on Gimme Gimme Gimme when Tom and Linda’s landlady “Beryl” was dead in their lounge and Tom and Linda started singing “Roll Out the Barrel (Beryl!)

Who was Pauline's daughter's child?
Vicky Fowler
omg
Try smiling lacey
Without Wendy eastenders is a bore
Scary...
Bread and circuses.
Pauline would batter Phil Mitchell
Sadly she just couldn't give up smoking...
She died of breast cancer
Wendy Richard and the rest of them could not even act their way out of a paper bag, but they are all very good at awarding and patting themselves on the back for it.
