this honestly makes me weep now. what a talent, what an icon, and what an absolute laugh. Rest in peace sweet June Brown. You are an absolute inspiration for all humanity!
Still going strong strong in 2015.. What a legend, one of the all time greats! Even at the age of 88 she can still bring just as much depth and emotion as most Actors.
Everyone loves June Brown she's a legend and she's such a sweet and kind person on and off camera well done to her and she looks amazing for her age such a great woman.
The euthanasia storyline and those final scenes she did with Ethel remain one of the most amazing, touching performances I've *ever* seen on television! She deserved this award for those moments alone!
@@tomg6220 Incorrect they are to ensure they attend. Most the people who get "lifetime achievement" are old and if you look in previous years they will not be present at the awards doo.
@@popland1977 it was well deserved but she's not usually in attendance and yet that one time oh look you win 😜 She more than deserves it but it often staged...
How I wish we could return to the start of Eastenders, the characters were so interesting and real, the story lines so believable that you couldn't wait for the next episode - Now I rarely watch it, it has lost all it's charm
I have missed June brown, i know it's not hard playing as dot cotton and dot branning. She had been with Albert square and eastenders as Barbara Windsor said about her have received her career in a best loved soap like eastenders and i will miss her. I have stopped watching eastenders because she is the heart of eastenders and i wish that everybody will deeply missed June brown so she deserved that award because that will hournond her in next year so well done sweetheart
I live in the USA and started watching EastEnders here, in 1986. I never missed an episode up until 2003, when I stopped watching it. So, I don't know if it's still shown, but it was available in the USA about a year after it debuted in the UK. It was shown on our PBS station.
Dorothy Cotton aside, she was also in a 7O's film called " The 14 "(aka The Little Wild Bunch), directed by the late-great David Hemmings. It's about a family of children's struggle to survive and to remain together as a family, after the sudden death of their mother (June Brown) from a heart attack. Lovley, moving film and very hard to find on dvd. RIP June Brown greatly missed!!! 😢
Putting Jim and Dot together was one of, if not the best decision in history of EastEnders. It saved both characters from being stale or maybe even axed in near future. As we all know, Jim was originally portrayed as staunch racist and was originally a very much hated villain of the soap. Eventually, putting him into the marriage with Dot and making him best friends with Patrick Trueman, saved the character and made him iconic. John Bardon, despite being known for playing villains quite a lot during his illustrious career, simply seemed miscast as a villain and racist as Jim Branning. On the other hand, it all saved Dot, too. She was becoming a very much stale character, mostly revolving around her personal problems and worrying about Nick. Marriage to Jim made Dot finally evolve into the iconic character we all know and love. There were rumors that right before Jim and Dot were put into storyline marriage, there have have been serious discussions about axing both characters from the soap, some of those rumors even claimed that producers planned to kill Dot off permanently. Luckely for everybody, if all or any of that is true, someone suggested that they give Jim and Dot another chance and put them together. Now they are considered one of most legendary married couples in history of British television. And just think it almost didn't happen and came about almost as an afterthought.
At her best...god bless u June brown (if u believe in that kind of thing) ( And if not ) rip to a wonderful actress I've known since I was 13yrs old. Thankyou mam.
I think it's so cool that they don't mention the "Winner" until the night of the Broadcast. On US Soaps we lost two amazing Actresses. Frances Reid who played Alice Horton on Days Of Our Lives starting in 1965 and died this year. The same went for Helen Wagner who played Nancy Hughes McCloskey on As The World Turns beginning in 1956 which makes her the longest running Soap Actress next to Bill Roache (Ken Coronation St), in fact they are both in The Guinness Book Of World Records.
Anna Wing (Lou Beale) is now 97 years old and this is what she looks like now, and I say for someone who is 97 years old and still going on with her career it is amazing. ruclips.net/video/BbKk44PlxAU/видео.html thats the link<
6:04 Awww Nana Moon (Hilda Braid) is in the audience. That was 2 years b4 she died. Lol, June going on about her teeth. I think, they made her look cute. She was not allowed to get them corrected until they became loose. Lou Beale (Anna Wing) is abt. 13 years older than June Brown and is now 96. Hopefully June also has at least another 13 years to go. Sadly Ethel (Gretchen Franklin) didn't make it to the awards and died 2 month later.
How refreshing to see an auditorium filled with actors that look like normal people, not full of silicone like Hollywood.
this honestly makes me weep now. what a talent, what an icon, and what an absolute laugh. Rest in peace sweet June Brown. You are an absolute inspiration for all humanity!
Two legends who are sadly no longer with us x
June was very loyal to her colleagues. When they killed of Pete Beale she quit the soap because the actor didn't want to leave. RIP

You don't win a life time achievement... You achieve one.
Actually you get voted by the judges it’s the only award the public don’t vote for, I take part in the voting via email🤙🏻💥
Rest in peace and love June Brown, to the true meaning of a legend.

Lovely that June won lifetime achievement award; and a treat indeed to see Anna Wing (Lou) show up for the occasion. EastEnders rules!
June brown is a legend and Eastenders would not be the be the same.
Lou Ethel and dot were like ena sharples Minnie Caldwell and Martha longhurst of coronation street In the 1960s
They were Daniel. Lou definitely the Ena of the three.
barbara is her best friend, thats why she presented it. and them two are the main oldies along with pat in the show

I'm 21 and tbh EastEnders won't be the same without June Brown, she makes that soap!!💯💯

Ah dear old Lou. It was very moving seeing Anna Wing appear.
I really love the fact that the don't announce the "Lifetime Achievement Award" Winner until the show is telecast. They don't do that on the US Soaps.
